This is one of the most versitile discs for players who can throw 250-350 feet. If you fall in the range you can throw every shot with the crave. It's been a staple in my bag since I started playing.

This has become a go to disc for me. I'm not quite at distance driver throwing ability yet, so I grabbed this in a light weight and i've used it for 80% of my drives in the past three courses. Woods or open field.

Proton is probably my least favorite plastic that MVP makes but the Crave still is a great disc even in this plastic. Would highly recommend for anyone ranging from beginners looking for a driver that'll get them some good distance to intermediates looking for a hyzer flip/turnover disc.

It is exactly what you expect it to be. Super straight like a reliable straight flying mid with just a bit more distance. As a beginner, this could easily be your furthest flying disc as its great for learning how to get the hyper flip and shot shape as well. It has been really useful for me on the 250+ ft low ceiling shots where I need a straight flyer and I don't have the arm to get a mid quote far enough. Would definitely recommend picking one up as a beginner but I'm sure It'll remain in my bag as I continue to learn.

The Crave is a great disc. I used it as a beginner, put it down for a while, and now I've been loving it for a different slot as a more advanced player.

As a beginner with questionable form it was essentially what a Teebird is for me now; a slight flip to straight to fade fairway that went surprisingly far. If you throw 300-350, this is probably how it will fly for you.

Now I use it in three ways: Big BH turnovers that hold until the ground, super straight FH flip-ups (my forehand is 225-275 for the Crave), and BH powered down like a long mid-range in the woods.

If you throw hard, this will fly more like 6.5, 5, -2, 1. It's basically the perfect Leopard/Centurion/FD in my opinion.

Of the Craves that I have thrown, the super flat cosmic neutrons are the most stable, then proton and plasma, then the Hokom neutrons are quite flippy. More like a -3.

    I'M IN LOVE!!!

I cannot express how pleased I am with this flight! I bought a new, red, 175gram, c-line FD that I expected to have that nice straight flight, but it flew like a Firebird... THIS on the other hand, the first throw I gave it into a field I immediately said "Wow, that's exactly what I wanted my FD to fly like." Immediately in the bag, and it'll probably never come out!

In the short time I've played disc golf, at least a quarter of all my disc golf throws have come at the expense of the Axiom Crave. When thrown flat, Crave will fly forever and have little fade. Thrown with a little hyzer, Crave will hold the line even longer and have less fade. In addition, I discovered by accident (I'm still a beginner and it was an errant throw,) that if I throw Crave with everything I've got with some anhyzer, it will hold its turn for a seemingly indefinite period of time. (It's more noticeable once the disc has been beaten in.) If I take a little off and do the same throw, I get a light S-Curve at the end. It has saved my rear on many holes that would normally require a forehand shot around a corner (I'm strictly a backhander.) I highly recommend adding an Axiom Crave to your bag for its surprising versatility. Once it's been beaten in, it's like having several discs in the same bag.

This is one of the only discs I've ever got that seriously changed things for me and that I was genuinely positively surprised by. I throw it just as far as my 9 speeds and that is not true for other 6 or 7 speeds that I own. Yet, I control it as well has my 5-7 speed discs. I cannot recommend this disc enough. It glides forever and I feel like it turns and fades a fair amount more than my old opto rivers (which are -1, 1 turn and fade). I let my wife throw it and that was a mistake as she instantly stole it from me - so she loves it too.

This has been in my bag since the day I got it. When I was first learning how to throw RHBH I got this disc to shape midrange shots and drive into headwinds. As my game progressed this disc did also in a great way. Now its pretty worn in and makes tunnel shots easy. I have chucked this thing at about 60% with a stand-still footing and its glided over 250 dead on. Over time the worn in gyro has made mine fade forward on faster throws. It's more predictable than my other discs of this speed. Dual color is great and was an exciting start to me buying MVP discs. Too many great things to list.

As a beginner RHFH thrower, this disc is awesome and has given me several close ace shots and many a happy birdy.  Throws super straight and even fades back just enough to be a suitable straight and stable flyer.  The disc I picked up is stamped as a proton but has micro metal flakes in it and is softer than most metal flake (champion) plastics... its kind of a mystery because it feels softer than a plain proton plastic which feels much firmer.  I must replace this disc soon.  This disc throws consistently straight and can be compared to an EMAC Truth or a DD Truth with more distance.  By far the best disc by AXIOM??? (you decide)

The straightest fairway driver I have thrown to date.

I have had 3 Craves, one lighter and two heavier, and they all do about the same thing: fly straight down the fairway with a hair of turn before a small fade. The Crave doesn't have much glide, but for a fairway driver there's nothing wrong with that--low glide means the disc has less horizontal movement. I throw this for shots in the 275'-350' range that need to stay straight. It's especially good for low-ceilings.

In the hand, the Crave is low-profile and flat with a smaller rim for a fairway driver. It would be a speed 6-7 by rim size, but this disc can handle the same power you would put into a speed 7-9 disc.

I would compare the Crave to an Explorer (glidier, a little more fade), a Teebird3 (more OS in general) and a Prodigy F3 (glidier). They are all good discs, but the Crave is my favorite for the straight fairway slot.

I bag all 3 Axiom fairway drivers and they are my primary distance drivers at this time as well. I like the Crave when a little more power is needed over the Inspire. I like to forehand this disc too. I will add I am new to forehand, so take that with a grain of salt.

Axiom has put together the best disc in it's lineup with the Crave.

I am not a fan of the overmold style, but this disc is easily the best feeling disc I've ever thrown like this. The disc will hold lines that you put on it, it can be easily turned over to hold an anhyzer and glide all the way down the line. It can be left on a hyzer and hold it for softer approach shots and dog leg lefts. If you leave it on a slight hyzer and put a good whip on it, it'll flatten up, tail right, and glide back to the left on a nice gentle finish.

This disc comes with my highest recommendation for anyone that enjoys the overmold style. It is truly an absolute beauty. If you are lucky enough to stumble across a Watermelon Crave, as I was able to do, absolutely take it. I don't bag one, but I made sure to find something as close to it as I could find without the overmold.

10/10 would recommend this disc despite my personal feelings on overmolds

Great utility disc!  I throw this disc all the time whether it be a 200' upshot around a tree or a flick off the box.  It's my get out of trouble disc.  When throwing backhand it flies nice and straight with a reliable fade.  When forehanding it it flies the exact same, nice and straight with a good fade at the end.  The Crave is very consistant!  I know what it going to do every time.

I really enjoyed throwing the Proton Crave. It feels a lot like a perfectly flat Teebird, but the rim feels a little smaller.

It has a shallow feel but still grips really well.

The proton plastic is durable and really nice looking especially paired with the bright solid colored rim. The grip is similar to Opto plastic. So not super slick but not really grippy.

You can get a little turn out of it, but not a whole lot and the fade while certainly present is not very pronounced and very forward penetrating.

If you are looking for a staple, stable fairway this is a great one.

I use my proton crave as my primary forehand driver for holes between 175 and 225 feet.  I can count on a straight flight path followed by a slight right turn.  I have found this to be a very dependable disc.  I also use the Crave as a forehand flick approach.  I am very pleased with the disc, both for what it does and for how well it has stood up to the abuse provided by trees which leap into its path from time to time.

In looking for another fairway driver to use, I bought the Crave, and haven't been disappointed yet. It can give you a nice S-curve, or hold any other line you throw it on. As a forehand disc, it excels when you don't have a lot of power, but can be ripped when necessary.

I'm not someone to say "holds any line you give it" about every disc I like. But for tis disc its true, the shapeof the disc combined with the Gyro tech it really will hold any line, hyzer, anhyzer or just dead straight really well. Fades pretty straight as well.

I actually have a Proton Crave (156 g). It flies straight as an arrow. It is my favorite driver. It goes straight and fades forward. I use it as my primary driver. The only time I don't use the disc is in a headwind. It is not designed to fight a headwind.

I also love the quality of this disc. In fact all of Axiom's discs look and feel great. The QC/QA at the manufacturing facility must be top-notch. Every disc I have seen is beautiful and structurally flawless. The Richardsons know how to mold plastic!
