The Axiom Hex (my favorite plastic being soft proton) is one of the greatest discs of all time. It fills that neutral midrange slot perfectly. Holds ultra straight lines, and fits whatever line you want to put it on honestly. For me it feels a bit better than its major rival the Buzzz because it has a more rounded edge. Beaded and generally pretty flat, so it's great for touch forehands as well.

The Proton Soft Hex is grippy and very comfortable to throw! It's an incredible straight flying disc and my one of my go-to mids for controlled/ tunnel midrange shots. 
 

If I need to power up on a shot, I typically pull my TSA Pathfinder due to it feeling a little bigger in the hand but if I just want a dead straight shot or more touch, I'm pulling one of the many Hexes I have because I feel like the shallower rim gives me more control and in turn, confidence. 
 

Whether you're just starting out or have been playing for years, I can't imagine anyone not being able to enjoy throwing the Axxiom Hex! 

I'm fairly new to disc golf and have been trying to find discs that work for me and of my 18 discs this is defintley my favorite. It feels so good to throw and flies perfectly straight. The grip is ridiculosuly comofrtable (far more comfortable than any other disc I have). This is now my go to forehand disc. Stop thinking and just buy it now.
