    Meta Details

Discmania's Meta plastic is a high-end, slightly opaque plastic with lots of shimmer to it. It's a very premium plastic, made mostly for Signature Discs. Meta feels amazing in the hand, and will look equally amazing in flight. Meta is very durable plastic, so it will take a beating on the course before losing any flight characteristics.

I've tried out two different Essences thus far. One new in Meta and one somewhat seasoned Zen 1 Nate Perkins edition. The newer Meta is fairly neutral. Not quite as understable as I was expecting it to be. I also max out around 340 though so it's most likely just me. It was fantastic for forehands. Super straight with good fade. Not overstable by any means. It works well in the woods. At least it did for me. The other beat in one was closer to that -2 turn and 1 fade. May just be the plastic but I enjoy throwing both of them. I'd imagine the Neo would be closer to those numbers out of the box. Feels good in the hand and it definitely glides well.

Overall, the Essence is a solid driver. In the Meta Plastic for the Zen, would consider it more geared towards beginners who want a reliable and predictable disc that will fly stable to overstable. For higher speed arms, though, this disc is pretty touchy and can get easily abused by wind. The first few throws I had with it, I fell in love with the flight and immediately took it into my bag in place of my Undertaker. Now, after getting more time with it, I may switch it out. It's a good disc, but it's slight unpredictability for my arm speed may have me going back to ol trusty undertakers again. Let me reiterate: the disc feels goof and flies great: it just may require a bit of learning if you are someone who likes to throw with a good deal of force and snap.
