The Discmania Mutant is an extremely overstable midrange. It features low glide and a hard fade, providing consistency in most windy conditions. This is a utility disc that can help you get out of those sketchy situations and back on track. The Mutant was designed from a thought experiment to see if you could make a disc with only straight lines. The result is a unique disc that is known as the "Cybertruck of midranges."

The cyber truck of midranges. Overstable for sure. Zero glide, strong fade lol. I'm sure someone will find a use for it. It certainly doesn't flinch in the wind.

Not a bad disc, i find it very reliably overstable but i dont really see it as a 5 speed disc.

My numbers would be closer to 4/2/0/4 for rhbh. I dont feel like i get much distance or glide out of it compared to similar 5 speed.

For beginners, it could be used but most beginners shouldnt be worried about discs like this until they learn the game and understand the need for a disc.

The mutant is a great overstable midrange from Discmania. I would put this disc in the category alongside the justice where it is a lot more overstable than other midranges but it has a bit more glide in my experience over a justice. The mutant is a reliable forehand disc as it has enough stability to fight out of almost any angle you put on it and when thrown hard the mutant won't flip up at all. I think if you want to try a disc that has a bit more overstability over a zone or harp, check out the mutant. I find I can get this disc similar distances to my zones maybe a bit shorter but with a more overstable finish it can be utilized in different ways. I think the neo plastic is one of the best plastics on the market with the hand feel and durability it seems to hold.

I throw a lot of overstable forehands, and my primary disc for approaches is a Lucid Justice from Dynamic Discs. I was excited to try this out because I had heard that it was comparable to the Justice in stability, but it just doesn't hold up quite as much. It is probably due to poor form, but for me, when I hit it with full power, it mostly just goes straight for the majority of the flight before dumping at the end. I'm sure there is plenty of use for that, but it just isn't the shot that I'm looking for with a super beefy midrange. The plastic does feel great in the hand, and I think it is much more useful for my backhand shots, which admittedly have a lot less power than my forehand.

I was super excited for a meat-hook midrange. Flat top and super overstable were ideal disc specs I was looking for. However, this disc hurt the hand no matter how I threw it - forehand or backhand it felt awful in the hand and left me in pain after every throw. Like the idea and flight numbers, but something about the edge and rim need some work.

This is was surprising. I love DM and though this would be kinda gimmicky like the Tilt... but this is actually very versatile. I played a round in some absurd wind and this handled it great, never flipped and just went where I wanted and dropped. Not a lot of ground play either. No giant skips. In no wind it does want to dump kinda early so its a great upshot disc. This disc in some sort of rubbery blend would be really cool to just chuck out and have it fight back and just park on the ground. I look forward to using it more. Not sure if its something I would use off the tee though. It would have to be a tight corner and sub 200 ft.

Super fun disc. Echo what a people are saying about the feel in hand, it's definitely different than the norm and takes a few throws to get comfortable with. Disc fades hard and gets to ground fast, love it for trustworthy backhand throws specifically as a RH forehand dominant player.

Most underrated part of the disc for sure has got to be its usefulness for escaping with a flick roller. It's roundless rim allows for it to hold its line straight and further than all other discs I've experimented with on wooded courses.

Certainly a disc that correctly serves it's purpose

The Mutant is the cyber truck of disc golf discs. It has a very unique blocky feel in the hand and is absolute beef. It is one of the more stable discs I have thrown but holds a nice, consistent line. It is ideal for midrange hyzer approaches and fun flex lines. I do not think it has the best feel in the hand, especially for forehands, but it gets the job done well. If you are in the market for something new that feels different than a lot of other discs, this could be the one for you.

This does exactly what its intended to do. Gets to the ground and will never turn over. Its essentially a faster zone.

I bought a couple of these, because I was intrigued by the design, and I throw a ton of overstable forehand shots. This disc flew good, nice and beefy, however I had to take it out of my bag, because I did not like the feel of the disc in my hand at all. It felt awkward to throw for me. If you like the feeling though, It is a great disc for shots that wont turnover.

This disc flies exactly like a Justice, just a slightly different hand feel. Insanely beefy and torque resistant for forehands and backhands. Great disc.
