This is Discraft's Color Glow Teebird3.

When Innova released the first batches of the Barela signature color glow Teebird3, I instantly fell in love with it.  The feel in the hand, the gumminess of the plastic, and especially the flight.  It flew like a mellow and glidy Teebird out of the box, with a small proclivity to drift ever so slightly, followed by a dependable and forward fade. I eventually fell out of favor with it when I realized just how easily the color glow plastic beats in, and wasn't a fan of the faster than usual cycle of Barelas I had going in and out of my bag.

When Anthony went to Discraft and requested for a more overstable Cicada, I had wondered if this was his answer to replacing his beloved color glow Teebird3s.

In my opinion it might as well be a Color Glow Teebird3, or very akin to it.  It tends to be on the flatter side, the concavity of the wing is the exact same, the plh is the same, and the flight is nearly the exact same.  The rim thickness is actually a tiny bit narrower, measuring in at 16.5mm as opposed to 17mm of the Teebird series. Discraft's ESP plastic seems to have gotten way better as of late too.  No longer overly stiff and slick, now feels better polished and gummy-- closer to Neutron.

Out of the box my ESP Cigarra flies true to its numbers, with easy drift with reliable fade, flying like a color glow Teebird3 that's been beat in for a month or two.  I can crank it dependably hard and flat, and it'll drift without burning over.  If I power down on it a tad bit or put it on the most subtle of hyzer angles, it'll give me a beautiful and forward pushing straight to fade shot.  The 6.5 speed rim theoretically makes it really easy to control, but at the same time I'm getting insane distances with it.  I parked a 400 foot slightly downhill hole today on a course which I usually reserve for distance drivers...in fact it took the ctp against my Surge SS for that hole.

Going forward, these will be my replacement for my much adored Color Glow Teebird3s, and I hope the plastic is more durable on the whole so I can cycle them in my bag a little slower than the Teebird3s. I also enjoy supporting Barela as well, since he's one of my favorite pros to watch play.
