Never played much with the Glide, personally, but gave mine to my 72 y/o dad, and he loves it. He doesn't have the strongest arm in the world, but he can get this to go 200 feet, when he's throwing it flat. He gets a nice s-curve reliably, and is almost always right in the  middle of the fairway. Great for newer players who are developing their game.

This feels more like an in-between midrange and fairway. Has a TON of glide but is very flippy. A great roller disc or turnover driver. It's comfy in your hand & the Z plastic feels great. Stiff with decent grip.  This is an excellent beginner disc

The Discraft Glide really feels like a fairway driver to me. It is very understable, but capable of some really nice distance on hyzerflips and big anhyzers. The GLide is a nice disc, but there are many similar offerings from Discraft and other companies that could fill this role just as well. Unless this is a disc you have a connection with I would try some of the other things out there.

I received a 177+gram Glide as a gift.  I was skeptical that it would make it into my bag....I was wrong about that.   I've been playing for 1.5 years.  I'm a recreational level player.   A solid drive is 300'...an exceptional drive is 340'.   I'm left handed and 65 years old.  I play a LOT of right handed holes, since the majority of courses and holes are designed for right handed players.   There are some shorter dog-leg left (perfect for RHBH hysers) that I struggle mightily with.  My anhyzer throws are getting better, but they are inconsistent.   Enter the GLIDE.   On those pesky right handed holes I can give it a dead flat release with a little more height than usual, or give it just a hint of Anhyzer, and I get to watch it carve out the right to left turn and head for the basket.   Yesterday I birdied two such holes that I had never birdied before....holes that I rejoiced when I got a 3, and was never surprised when I got a 4.   This disc is also a pretty decent roller for me.  So, it has earned a place in my bag as a "reverse" throw disc and also as a roller.

I'm not sure where to start with the Glide. It's one of the most inconsistent discs that I've thrown yet. For a disc called the "glide", its glide leaves something to be desired. It's a midrange with a fairway driver rim, which makes it pretty uncomfortable to hold and results in some awkward releases. It's not really great for forehand either, given its understability. If the "glide" looks interesting to you, try the Discraft Archer.

I mostly throw the Buzzz and thought this would be a good understable disc, but it just wasn't doing it for me. I couldn't get enough turn out if it to be a understable mid range. The only time it would act like the numbers is when I throw full blast off the tee box.

The Glide is a nice disc. It is definitely more of a beginners disc since it will hold a nice straight line with a lot of power. For someone with a stronger arm this becomes a serious touch disc. Given too much power it will turn right into the ground. We all play those tough left to right holes that are only 250-300 feet, but are almost impossible to play for us RHBH only players. This is the disc for those holes. You can definitely throw it hard enough on a hyzer flip to get it to turn over and continue to finish right, or it will just hold an anny perfectly the whole way. Good all around disc but takes tons of practice to use really well.

Does exactly what it claims. This disc is going to turn right if thrown flat (RHBH) especially if you have develped a little bit of power. I keep this disc around because there are so many holes that require a 250-300 ft slow right turn and this will do it every time with minimal effort. I've used it as a roller a few times and got it out to 400 ft, so with some practice I believe it could be used there as well. Solid beginner driver with uses for intermediate and advanced players.

this is a turning disc. It's a driver on paper, but after I developed some power (and I'm used to throwing overstable), I could almost never use this off the tee. It does what it says, but you do have to learn the disc. After break in, it turns like crazy.

My advice- beginners do your worst. Throw this all you want. It's a good disc for you, and might give you max distance as your technique develops. Power throwers, throw only hyzers with this, and it will still turn- and live up to its name if it doesn't hit the ground.  If you master the hyzer-release-to-anhyzer-flight, you will amaze your friends.

Fan grip on mid range throws- you can get this disc to do a lot of things. At low-medium power, you'll see this disc fade. At high power, it will turn like crazy.

I bought one for a buddy who was developing. He's quite good now, and he uses it on most approach and all L->R holes.  He's really working it well, and can put it next to the basket from almost anywhere. When I throw it (I throw different/harder), it turns and burns. After I lost my glide on a wild throw, I never replaced it...

So, I have had the pleasure of adding this disc to my permanent bag recently. I can honestly say, this is my go-to disc for maximum FAN grip throws. The Glide really falls in between a midrange and fairway driver because of the distance capabilities. This disc really reminds me of a DGA Squall, which is no surprise, because Discraft manafactures DGA discs. Very beginner friendly. I would recommend it to any new golfer reaching for their first driver. Has already made numerous holes at my home course that much more birdie-able. Very impressed with this disc.

ok im not a fan of understable mids bc im more of a forearm thrower so where most RHBH would grab a disc like this to throw an anhyzer i would grab a more stable to over stable and throw a sidearm. but im not gonna bash this disc just bc it doesnt fit my PREFERRED throwing style. bc this disc does have it uses. it is very predictable and stays dead point on any line you set it on it is extremely predictable. personanlly im not a fan of Discraft plastic it just feels too slippery for me and feels like i cant get the full potential of the disc. I would absolutly if you want a disc that is almost to the tee exactly like the Glide but in a more grippier plastic then check out the Flying Squirrel by ABC discs. Id have to look at the dementions but i feel like the Squirrel is wider and the rim is a little taller. If your a beginner then sure get this disc for a Mid/Fairway and im sure you'll love it. But for me this isnt a disc i carry in my bag. not as much glide as the name leads you to believe tho in my opinion.

Awesome! This is a specialty disc for me. Perfect for them dog leg right turns (RHBH). I have always been a big fan of the discraft Z plastic it is very durable and grippy.  The glide feels very comfortable in my hand.  This disc will take some time to get use to. You need to put a moderate amount of power on it to get that right turn . I have been throwing my glide on a flat to slight hyzer line and it does a real nice "S" curve. Keep in mind this disc does take time to figure out.

This disc has plenty of glide.  The Glide is my most understable disc. I typically throw it off the tee for dog leg rights due to its solid mix of turn and distance.

I am back with a little more experience with this disc. If I have to throw between 180 to little less than 300 feet towards a pin on the right, I use this disc. I throw it flat with 75-80% power it bends just enough angle to the right to give me a bird or at least a par if I miss the put on my birdie shot. Well, if the pin is in tunnel shot position and under 200 ft, I put a little hyzer on this disc and use roughly around 65% of my power, I will get a perfectly straight shot. I don't use Z-buzz for such pins because buzz needs a wide angle. For pins like par 4 distance and needs a shot to put your disc in the fairway, I use this disc, well it depends on the route though. I exchange it with champion leopard or my pro-D challenger putter. Great disc to have in your bag.

I was looking for some new disc that could give me an anhyzer path. Unlike 163-164 gm, I bought 173-174 gm without knowing if it really takes anhyzer path based on the disc golf dealer's suggestion. I am an intermediate power thrower (RHBH) and can throw 350' +/-. So what I found with 173-174 gm glide disc is I have to pull a good arm speed and throw it flat and it comes toward right which is what I want. I can throw anhyzer and it does come anhyzer, but If I throw with medium power and flat it comes to left like regular disc. I have to get used to disc before I can come to full conclusion and say, yes this disc is really good for fairway understable shots.

simple what it says it does GLIDES on a nice anhyzer if you want to make a right hand turn (RHBH) or if thrown right can hyzer flip it and it will fly pretty far, love the Z plastic, I bounce this bad boy off everything and it barely looks used, great durable disc all around.
