This is my favorite driver. I've had 2 of these and my current one is much flippier but in a good way. I'm parking 300-350 foot shot consistently and effortlessly with this disc when throwing RHFH hyper flips. This will always be in my bag, it's too good. Buy this disc if you throw forehand.

I don't know if it was something about the run of discs that ended up in the Doomsday Prepper pack, but my experience with the Dystopia has not been quite the same as others accordingly to their reviews: The turn ratings of the Dystopia and the Cataclysm seemed reversed between them -- i.e., they fly more as if they had the other disc's turn number. Despite the slightly slower speed, I couldn't ever get the same straight flight with the Dystopia as with the Cataclysm; in fact I never got any true turn over from it at all even into the wind. It flew more like my Destroyer and the Cataclysm was more like my Wave, even though the flight numbers of each match better with the opposite disc. Be that as it may, now that I know that about them, I can use them both profitably: Both discs fly well and consistently, and the Survival plastic feels good & durable -- like Star/S-Blend. No signs of wear or altered, beat-in flight patterns yet after a couple of days of field work with them (which can't be said about the set's base-grade putter).

Fun disc, but not true to the numbers. I don't have a powerful backhand (300-325 golf shots), but this will hyzerflip to flat, then drift further before a very mild finish. Plastic feels good, but uncertain as to durability. For a first high(ish) speed driver, this will teach good angle control, but it'll quickly become too flippy for anything but tailwind or uphill shots.

This disc is a little more understable than what I was expecting, but still a good flyer. Flight reminds me of a Sidewinder, useful in the woods and for long, turning shots. Should be an excellent introduction to distance drivers for newer players.

    176g Survival Dystopia.

I would call myself a beginner, it's been 5-6 months since i threw my first disc golf disc. This is the first "real" driver i can throw and get a decent flight out of. I can usually throw drives anywhere from 250-280 and 300 is probably my max right now.

First, the plastic. The Survival plastic is nice, good grip and it feels somewhere between Star and Champ to me. It's definitely durable, I've hit several rocks and trees and even a concrete curb at full speed and there's no chipping, cracking, gouging, chunking, nothing. Maybe a couple light scratches.

This is my max distance disc and the first disc I threw on a course that felt good and flew "like it's supposed to." My first time throwing it on a course was just a second drive for practice/to try out a new disc, and it laser-beamed out with a strong sharp fade at the end (maybe 20-30 ft right to left) and a big reliable skip, landing about 280 out. That was the furthest I had thrown on course at that point. Now, after hitting the aforementioned objects, it turns in a headwind and doesn't come back if I throw with anhyzer, but other than a headwind anhyzer shot it still seems very consistent.

I like this disc and if I lose it I'll buy another.

I received this disc as a mystery disc and really like it. It flies beautifully. For me it flies like a slightly faster Insanity though with a bit more turn. The shape is similar to a Heat. When I throw it too hard, or when I throw into a headwind, the turn is really prominent, but it fights back to flat, and eventually fades, each time. I haven't had a turn-and-burn yet, nor have I been able to roll it, although I'm sure more experienced players could.

I had a hard time assessing the beginner rating. When I started, I was throwing around speed 4, meaning I could make speed 4 discs that had negative turn ratings actually turn. I owned an ESP Heat early on, and wasn't able to make it turn for almost 2 years. Sure I could make it fly straight for a while, but it went the same distance as my mids. Regardless of how much experience you have, if you can throw above say speed 7, then I'd definitely say give the Dystopia a shot. It's a nice gateway disc to get you from the fairways up to the distance drivers.

I was pleasantly surprised by this disc. The hand feel is actually pretty good, the Survival plastic is very similar to Star or K1. It's lower wing shape is an aggressive concave profile and the super domey top is reminiscent of a Shryke.

In terms of flight, this is where the Dystopia surprised me the most. I find it to be a bit more understable than the numbers suggest but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This disc releases quick and cleanly from the hand, flipping very quickly and early in the flight. It then holds the line for a majority of the time until it just fights out to fade in the last 10% of its flight. The 6 glide is not a marketing gimmick. On a RHBH throw I could consistently get the Dystopia on a hyzer release to flip up to flat and beyond, glide for days while drifting right, and gently fade out to about 380-400 ft with not a lot of effort.

For intermediate to advanced players I'd recommend this disc as a slightly understable control/distance driver that you can get an easy S flight out of and trust it wont turn into a roller. For more beginner players this would be an excellent first step into high speed drivers as the glide and turn will be very forgiving and maximize distance potential. All in all, great disc.
