Probably one of the worst discs I've ever tried. Plastic felt cheap and just.... bad. The mold itself is very sharp- I wouldn't even describe it as being extra flashing, the inner and outer rim are just sharp. Flies ridiculously understable, which makes for a few fun shots, but overall just not a good disc, and does not make me want to try anything else by doomsday.

I just hit the 3 year mark playing disc golf, but I've played an average of at least three rounds a week in that time. I throw primarily RHBH (working on RHFH) and am regularly getting about 360' or more on my best drives with my beat in D2s, Wraiths, and some plucky 9 speeds.

I got a Famine in Uranium plastic from the Infinite Discs VIP Series drop and it feels and looks a lot like Plasma plastic, but has a bit more give to it like a stiffer GStar. I put it in the bottom of my cart along with some other discs that are auditioning for the bag, and some others that are on their way out of the bag. I don't remember my first throw with it and I don't remember any throws since, but I do remember my last throw with it when it dawned on me that this disc flies the same way every time. Throw it flat and is pulls right with a tiny bit of fade. Throw it with a hint of anhyzer and it pulls right without flipping over and has even less fade. I use it for turnover shots or put it up extra high to get a nice long full flight out of it, but I just realized I've never thrown it on a hyzer.

For those in the 350'+ range, this is disc can certainly bomb, but it's going to work from left to right almost the whole way. It has very little finish, BUT when you give it too much juice, instead of burning over, it just seems to ride harder to the right. To me that seems fairly unique. I haven't tried rolling it yet, but I don't think it's a good candidate for that considering its tendency to keep flat and slide rather than burn over. I'm also not sure it's a good candidate for hyzer flips, it doesn't seem to turn (flip), it just seems to pull right.

I used to think that beat in Pro Wraiths were the bee's knees for turnovers, but they're just so temperamental. The Famine moved from the bottom of the cart into the Pro Wraith's slot in my bag. So if you have a beat in Wraith that's become too unreliable or "turns and burns", then this might be what you're looking for.

If you're not getting out to 300', I have to imagine this disc would be terrific for getting good distance without a lot of drama. Whenever I've used flippier discs to get more distance, it's frustrating when I don't have room in the fairway for all the lateral movement required to develop a full flight. Finding a stable disc that rides that line where it doesn't flip much and stays straight, but also carries far without fading is the dream. I think this mold could fit that slot for folks who are typically drawn to more understable molds like Waves, Thrashers, Destinys, etc.

My wife and I each got this disc as part of a subscription box and liked the way it felt so decided to give it a try. When I threw it flat mine turned over and cut rolled after about 200 feet. When I threw the one my wife received it was almost overstable. I got very little turn and it hyzered out after about 300 feet. Both were similar weights and felt similar in the hand.

    Pros:

-Disc feels great in the hand.

-Has a lot of potential for big distance. Had some good glide from the times I tested it.

-Seems like a good step up disc into distance drivers for individuals ready to try some disc with a little more speed.

    Cons:

-Between the two that I have thrown it has been very inconsistent flights. One was very flippy and the other had almost no turn.

Overall I am giving this disc a 4 star based on what i think its potential could be. I think this could be a great disc in the right hands.

    TLDR:

I would only recommend this disc if you are really into having high speed drivers for the sake of having high speed drivers or you've got skillz far greater than my own (which isn't necessarily saying much).

    About Me:

I am a longtime recreational player. I throw an even mix of righthand back/forehand and drive about 300-350'. I throw 170+ weight discs, my fastest discs are speed 9, and I don't throw discs with relative stability (the sum of turn/fade) greater than 2 for anything other than utility shots or strong headwinds.

    Why This Disc?/Comparison:

I received this from ID's monthly mystery sub in the prototype Uranium plastic (but I can't leave a review under that plastic type because it's not listed on ID yet).

I don't throw speed 12 discs on the reg, but it reminds of a Thrasher I got as a gift and threw for a short while. Big rim but super understable.

    Aesthetic/Feel:

The stamp is nifty. The prototype Uranium plastic is pearlescent and soft. Like, very soft but not R-Pro or Retro. The rim is big and chunky. If you dig that then you'll be happy, but I am not a fan of wide rims.

    Performance:

Backhand, this disc went farther than my understable 9-speeds usually do (my usual go to distance discs). The downside, by comparison, is that it was way less predictable. I can usually pinpoint just about where my 9's will go, but this thing would either outrun where I wanted it to go or continue to turn for too long. It also dipped onto its edge near the end of the flight a time or two and gave me a naughty little cutroll.

Sidearm, this thing went berserk. Even with a hyzer angle, it flipped hard. Once it met Earth, it ran in directions and to lengths which I had rarely witnessed my most botched shots go.

Would it make a good roller? Well, I couldn't get it to roll in the directions I intended, but I'm not a particularly good roller-thrower. I'd still give any offhand distance roller I might be tempted to throw a go with my 9's rather than this disc on any day on any course, but your mileage may vary.

    Pros/Cons:

+ Neat art and funky plastic

    + It can go far

    - Way too unpredictable upon landing

    - Way too unpredictable as a roller

    Does It Make The Bag?

Negative; if you don't have great power but just have to have a wide rimmed driver so you can feel sated when the other beer leaguers break out their Destroyers on that 300 foot hole at your local, then rock it, baby. If you have the touch and skill to make this puppy work like it's intended to work (reaching nearly 450'), I bow to you and say "we're not worthy, we're not worthy!" For me, though, this thing will become a giveaway to someone that's just wanting to give different discs a go as they find their way in the game.

Awesome disc when available. The flight path is exactly described in diagram provided. Good glide and very little roll at least for me.

I bought this disc as a whim of supporting small business. Pleasantly surprised with the performance of this disc. I have a few doomsday discs in my cart. drivers will give a roll at times.

This disc would be super easy distance for a beginner. Very understable.  My first throw, I threw it flat and it rolled very quickly (side note: it rolled a very far distance afterwards).  I feel like this disc would make a good first roller or a low ceiling hyzer flip.

Meltdown plastic is suuuuuper gummy and floppy. Imagine you threw a GStar disc in the summer sun and what it would feel like when you picked it up after it set out in the field for a little while.  That's what it feels like in the AC of your house. Also has a slightly weird smell.

This disc in a Champ or Star style plastic would probably be money.
