I've thrown the C and Metal Flake C versions of the Ruin. It's natural to compare it to a Zone, which I also bag. The feel of the Ruin is totally different than the Zone. Very flat and shallow, compared to the "deep dish" zones. I also find the Ruin goes further and straighter than the zone, and really does not fare as well in the wind.

The Ruin is a great place to start for over stable approach putters. Doubly so if you prefer shallow or flat discs. Great for for forehand shots too. Highly recommend the Metal flake runs, and the first run if you can find one.

The Ruin is a great approach disc if the feel in the hand doesn't bother you. The feel is certainly different than any other disc I have felt.  In terms of flight the Ruin is great for overstable approach shots, or drives that you don't want to go very far and need to go left.

The Ruin started out in between my Jawbreaker and ESP Zone and it has slowly fazed out my Jawbreaker Zone. It is stable enough to be trusted in most conditions, but straight enough to tackle any upshot. The glide on this disc is limited which I love. It just does the same thing over and over again. It feels like a cross between the Innova Rat and the Westside Discs Harp. Shallow and flat topped. The artwork on the Drew Gibson signature run is incredible. If you like the Harp and Zone, this disc feels like their love baby. Absolutely worth a try. Beginners will find it overstable with limited glide and more advanced players will find this to be an approach work horse.

This is my upshot disc of choice when it comes to 150 feet and in. When I need something over stable that is forehand friendly and will just sit next to the basket I reach for my Drew Gibson signature series Ruin.
