I think I would like this in something other than champion plastic, but I just can't get into this disc and it should be right up my alley as Innova labels it as a driver for beginners. I get much more consistency with a Gstar Destroyer the same weight than I do with this champ Daedalus. I've seen some peeks at the crazy distance this thing can offer in a tailwind, but I can almost always outdrive my daedalus with a wahoo, diamond, or destroyer. And as a budding intermediate, I don't know what that says for this as a "beginning" driver. But then perhaps it's because of the grip. I love the feel of the gstar destroyer along with the r-pro wahoo and I just can't get this to feel right. I've thrown some monsters with this disc, it just doesn't seem as forgiving as the advertisement would indicate.

Update: After playing with both a Discraft Nuke SS and a Discraft Spectra I can confirm how little I like this disc now. Both of those discs are "beginner friendly" understable (comparatively so at least... I know the SS stands for "super stable") high speed discs. It's a shame, because the tie-dyed daedalus I have looks really cool, but I think I'm washing my hands of this disc indefinitely.

As a Beginner/intermediate player this is by far my favorite distance driver.  I typically use it to throw forehand drives.  It is definitely understable, which helps developing players (like myself) get some extra distance.

I first threw this disc in Star plastic (it was loaned to me), on my 2nd throw it flew farther than I had ever thrown a disc (it was approx 320 ft forehand drive).  As soon as I finished this round, I drove to a local store and purchased my own in Champion plastic.
