This is it, the people's firebird. No need to buy a Sexton when you can have the exact same flight out of a stock disc. If you like the way the pros throw their firebirds but can't seem to get them to fly flat give the GStar Firebird a try.

The firebird is simply amazing. It is definitely a utility disc in my bag. Nice skip shots with the forehand or distance controlled shots are great with the firebird. I don't tee off with it every hole, but every round it comes out of the bag and gets the job done where other discs can't. It is great. Also great for heavy headwinds. I've never had one even think of staying turned over. Even on steep anhyzer, it comes back pretty quickly.

    GStar 168

I'm a big fan of GStar plastic for the improved grip. I also like my fairways and drivers a little lighter, hence 168.

I find this type of firebird to be a bit more workable and mellow compared to star and champ counterparts. It *does not* turn over, but it pushes straight and doesn't dump quite as harshly as some others. I really like that about it, makes it a beautiful compliment to the otherwise board flat scepter which really dumps into big skips out beyond 200'.

Not a beginner disc. This isn't going to get you distance or lace lines through the woods, these are pure utility for getting around obstacles, insane headwinds, and playing for big skips

    GStar - 170-175g  RHBH

This disc is very stable, hard fade.  no worries about flipping too much in a headwind.  The glide is correct at 3.  i have an old flat top pro firebird, it is a little faster. This G star Firebird, will be in my bag when playing open courses with wind.  This disc also is good for forehand rollers.

I found this Gstar Firebird on a course with no name or number on it, and after giving it a few throws, it immediately went into my bag! I have never gotten a Firebird because I had always thought them to be extremely overstable, and I already have a few of those discs in my bag. However, this Gstar version that was already slightly beat in was surprisingly a straight flier but with a reliable fading finish.

If I am looking for a reliable control driver with no turn, but decent distance, this is my go-to disc! Plus, I LOVE HOW THE GSTAR PLASTIC FEELS! It's so grippy! I with all discs felt like this! I simply love this disc and am looking for more Gstar plastic to put in my bag soon!

The Firebird is my go to for short hyzer drives, especially on windy days.  I am confident that it will not flip when throwing into a head wind and the low glide means I will not overthrow my target.  This is one of the most consistent discs in my bag.  I also use it for controlled forehand shots.

I've only thrown one in GStar plastic, and it was not as overstable as I had heard Firebirds were (probably just because of the plastic). It was still very stable, but not crazy overstable, almost like a new Star Thunderbird, maybe a tick more stable with less glide. A good disc for sure.

The Firebird's reputation precedes itself and for good reason. It's fast, it's a wind fighter, it's fade is dependable, but it's not an extreme disc like some similar to it are.

my 174 Gstar is perfect for flex forehand/backhand, spikes, shorter hefty wind drives, skip shots, you name it. If there is a hole between 250-300ft and it calls for forehand, I am betting money I get in Circle 1 with this. It won't ever flip and burn and it's fade is in a sweet spot between long and hard. It doesn't die and dive, nor does it go to far on it's fade, it's so predictable!

So basically, it's just a perfect disc for what role it plays in a bag. However, my one gripe is this and it's less about this disc. THIS IS NOT A DISTANCE DISC. I feel like there are so many forehand players I see and this is their MAIN driver. Don't expect massive distance potential from this disc. It has it's place and it won't be usurped, but I think people trying to force it to be a main forehand driver are being a little misled.

This disc is my #2 go to in my bag, second only to my Thunderbird of the same plastic and weight. Mine is 162g. I use this for drives where accuracy is more important than power I feel comfortable throwing this 250 feet and being able to land within 15 feet. That may not sound super impressive but as only an intermediate player I love the precision. Aside from shorter accurate drives I also use this for drives where the ceiling is low. A few local courses have low tree canopies where my Thunderbird likes to glide higher as it goes and often plinks a low branch and kicks, falling like a dead duck. On those same throws with the Firebird it stays just as flat (stable) as the Thunderbird but without the climb, making it a stroke/throw saver. In fairways that are more open it's also great for flex shots. If you whip this disc hard enough on a flat shot you can flex it without the anhyzer for a shallow start to an S-shaped shot that will fight back to flat quickly and get good distance before the fade kicks in. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this disc as much for a newer player would be due to the fade. I've seen many newer players that did what I did when I started... they aim straight at the basket so fade normally takes them off course and even OB. Until someone gets to the point where they know the lines they need to be accurate it's best to stay with lower fade discs, IMO.

I picked up a G-star firebird (175g) as well as a F2 star (170g) after reading so much about them being a staple sidearm driver. I was really excited about giving these a try, but my results were not satisfactory.

Maybe I just don't have the arm for these discs, but they pull up and hook right so hard after 150 feet, no matter what angle/power I flick them at. I played half a round with the firebird before switching back to my teebird.

I'll hang on to them and revisit after some time to see if my game improves/changes enough to utilize this disc.

This disc has really been a beneficial disc for me. The firebird has a very nice fade and I have been able to throw the S-curve with it. This disc can hold a hyzer line really well wich can be very helpful especially if there is the risk of going OB on the side of the basket. Having the disc fading toward the basket keeping it in bounds is far better than straight at it and risking it skipping or flying into the OB.
