Need a disc for those tight tunnel shots? You found it. This disc is very beginner friendly and will turn slightly off the tee and finish straight with little to no fade at the end of it's flight path. I use this disc off the tee anytime I need a straight shot, not just tight tunnels. I just bought a second one just in case the one in my bag is lost because I don't want to be without a Foxbat in my bag.

Summary: A great flier that you'll love, if you also like how it feels.

Feel: The best part of it is the plastic, Star plastic can make a mediocre disc a good one. The Foxbat has a very original rim shape, shaped more like a fairway driver that was shrunk. It's pointed like a fairway but as thick as a mid-range. It's also just a touch on the deep side of mid-range depths.

Flight: The flight is exactly what it says, it's a great flier for anyone with the power to throw it. It's a great disc for straight shots that just fall forward instead of fading out left or right.

I'm selecting this as very beginner friendly because, conversely I would say it's not a disc for a more experienced player. Beginners throwing this flat to hyzer would probably see some good flight but even a slight anhyzer for a beginner would probably still hold that line.

For me the flight was very inconsistent and simply doesn't fill a spot in my bag that I couldn't cover with something else.

The feel in the hand in pretty deep and round. As another reviewer mentioned, this makes the feel for a flick odd, but at the same rate flicking this disc with any sort of torque or speed is disaster.

For a potential positive, I'm thinking the best shot for this disc is some sort of wide open, short, floaty turnover shot. I think this is the disc your beginner friend uses or you keep in your bag for that one shot that may come up once in a while, otherwise you're not really missing much here.

So I got this disc as my second mid-range a while back based on all the good reviews and flight numbers. However, this disc is simply not good. I threw it for a while, but couldn't ever really figure out how to throw it. It flies slightly understable, and has absolutely NO fade. Also the edge makes it IMPOSSIBLE to forehand, although if u were to try to forehand it, it would flip up so much it would make your head spin. I've tried it. So in conclusion, this disc is simply just too touchy to throw successfully. Check out the Latitude Fuse instead. You won't regret it.

First of all the flight ratings are accurate. The feel of this disc is kind of odd compared to most. Yet it is still a very favorable disc overall. I got it for Hyzer flips as well as, slight turnovers to the right for a RHBH throw. It does exactly as I wanted to do. Overall it is slightly understable so, slower arms I'll get a nice straight flight for about 300 feet before a slide to no fade ending while faster arms will get a slight turnover if thrown flat. Otherwise it's a really fun disc to hyzer flip & throw forehands.

I got the Disc in a G star. I used to have one in a star but lost it. The G star version for me is really hard to control. As someone who is newer to the sport this disc may not be very easy to rely on.

The Foxbat is a great disc and is a very useful midrange tool.  It flies very straight when thrown with moderate power.  It will drift to the right (RHBH) when thrown with increased power, but doesn't drift very far.  It also keeps going and going due to the high glide.  It has quickly become my go-to midrange for tunnel shots and shots that I want to work from left to right.  Great disc!

I absolutely love this disc. I often find myself using this when I have shot that is 250-300 ft shot. My disc often flies straight and occasionally falls off to the right just a little. Excellent for tunnel shots, this disc will always be in my bag!

For reference i have the 175g star

More people should know about this disc!  I have this disc in 180g Star Plastic, and it is my go to for tunnel shots and anything that NEEDS to go dead straight for anywhere from 100-250 ft or so.  The flight on this is really cool because if released flat for a straight shot it will just drift ever-so-slightly to the right for the whole flight, it won't flip over, it won't turn left, just like 2% to the right the whole time.  Release on anhyzer and it will keep the angle, will not try to fight out at all.  It is a disc that people will ask you what you are throwing because the flight is that different.  My only con on this disc is it isn't the most comfortable in the hand, it takes a little getting used to and because of this I am not comfortable throwing this for all midrange shots.  I don't like it for forehand or for anything where I am altering my stance because of trees etc.  I use a Compass as my main midrange, but throw the Foxbat for the tunnel shots where I can have a comfortable throw.

I love this disc. I'm not the greatest driver, so I often turn to my mids to get me somewhat close. This foxbat is great for that. Very controllable, and versatile. Would highly recommend this disc to anyone.

Got this Disc as a mystery item with one of my purchases and after my first throw I fell in love. This disc flies as straight as an arrow with little to no fall off at the end. For a beginner i was able to get this disc to fly for miles, the glide is accurate, if thrown flat it floats and floats and floats. I love this disc, for beginners I really recommend this disc because your release angle is the angle it will fly, teaching you to release flat, or hyzer or anhyzer.

Star Foxbat (175g) - I think I need to practice a little more with this disc, because it is definitely a useful disc. Like another reviewer mentioned, I throw a 175g Star Kite as my very flippy midrange. It is a way more understable disc than the Foxbat, but they are increasingly hard to buy since Innova doesn't make them anymore. I tried the Foxbat for the same reason and found similar results with a key difference. The Kite is super understable and I could throw it with a normal hyzer angle and it would flip over. Where I like the Kite a little bit more is that it had just enough integrity to fade back at the end and glide out for a little extra distance. The Foxbat kept turning, which has its uses but seemed to usually cut-roll. I also had a throw it a little flatter to turn it as much as the Kite. All in all, it could be a useful disc and I would recommend trying it before Innova sells out their stock.

I throw about 300-325ft, just to put things in context. For my flippy mid, I throw a heavier Kite. It doesn't flip a lot, given the fact that that it has a turn of -3. When I threw the Foxbat, I was surprised at the amount of turn it had. It felt about the same as my Kite. I could see me replacing my Kite with the Foxbat. It feels good in my hand, and seems a little easier to turn.

The Foxbat is a shapeable disc, with numbers similar to popular shaping mids. It  has lots of glide, and I think a little more turn than the number indicate. If you are looking for a shapeable mid that has a little more turn than a Mako3, this might be the ticket!

Great beginner disc to start out with. My shot is too powerful now so I overturn it with my max power.

Highly recommend for someone new to the game.

    Disc: 167g Star Foxbat (purple)

I got my hands on a Foxbat from a friend's bag and got to throw it for a bit in a field. Fun disc to throw. Super glidey. Kept turning over for me though, but could get a good beginner straight flyer.

Flight: The Foxbat is a straight flying disc. Put it flat and it will go straight and glide for a while. With power, it will turn over though. Put it on anhyzer and it will hold that anny as it glides all the way to the ground with no flex out.

Use: This is a great beginner mid as it flies straight and gets decent distance due to it's glide. I personally liked putting it on high anhyzers and turning it around as the glide is great and it stays on the anny. Good flip to flat thrower as well if you put it on hyzer to start. This is a good disc for tunnel shots as you just need a smooth flat throw to get it down the alley.

Summary: This is probably a pretty good beginner disc. Easy to throw and not too demanding of good form. And that glide is fun. Not a disc I'll keep in my bag though as I'd rather have a Mako for my straight shots and a Roc for my shots that I need to put power into and get some more distance.

The Foxbat is a pretty neutral fairway driver. This disc is going to fly on the line you put it on. I really didn't have to put much power on this disc and it would flip up and fly flat and straight. This was a really great disc for upshots that I wanted to stick where they landed. I can see beginners absolutely loving the flight of this disc.

New disc, had a lot of fun throwing in the field yesterday.

When thrown hard disc would turnover, but when thrown nice and easy...disc traveled straight and had nice glide.  285 down the pipe w/ an easy throw.

Love the feel in the Star plastic, like a better version of a Shark.

Easily the straightest flying disc I own. Cuts through light wind and stays straight on target. Deadly accurate. Plays nicely in the 100-150 foot range.

    Pros: Flies straight

Cons: Can't understand how this is a speed 5 and a Leopard is a speed 6.  Vastly different discs.  It feels more like a speed 3-4 disc.  I also don't understand the glide rating.  Whether I throw it hard or touchy, it just wants to go straight down.  It doesn't hyzer or anything, just doesn't float at all.  I guess I'll stick with my Mako3.

This is probably the most versatile disc I own. This disc literally can be used for any shot. I keep it in my bag, and pull it out anytime I need to make a clutch shot. It is very reliable. If you get it heavy enough (mine is 175g) it will work perfectly as a midrange and putter, and the fantastic glide will even allow you to throw a longer shot without having to throw as hard as you can. I love this disc and would recommend it to any new players and any players who need a versatile and reliable disc.

I picked up a Foxbat in star palstic a few months ago to replace my beloved Mako3, which got warped after spending several days in an icy pond. So far the Foxbat has exceeded my expectations. After some field work and a dozen rounds of disc golf, this disc has become a natural choice for me under most conditions. This disc flies with finesse and is a must have for navigating tightly wooded areas. I can consistently get it to follow either a nice anhyzer line (RHBH) or a slight hyzer line depending on how I release it.

The only time I struggle with this disc is in windy conditions. When the wind is really blowing the Foxbat can be unforgiving due to the understability and high glide rating. Throw it too high or with too much speed and it will fly way off course. Throw it too gently in the wind and it will take a quick dive into the dirt.

Overall, I strongly recommend this disc to anyone who wants a utility mid-range disc that can navigate tricky fairways. Just be careful in the wind.

Purchased this in Star in (I believe) 171g. I purchased both this disc and a Westside Tursas (wrote a review about that disc as well) to fill the void for an understable midrange in my bag, with the intention of seeing which would win the competition for the coveted spot. With that said, the foxbat accidentally created a new spot in my bag - the "dead straight disc that usually ends up leaving me a short putt"; which is a very nice problem to have. Someone else who reviewed this said: "Don't overthink this disc, just throw it at the basket." That is excellent advice. It's understable, but not super understable. It's not going to get anyone driver distance so don't ask it to. It's money from 150'-175', gentle gentle gentle hyzer finish - no fade. It's actually a really exceptional disc and I think that it will end up helping a lot of people who are missing something like this from their game. If you're a player (like me) who has been struggling with parking his longer upshots, or someone who isn't 100% comfortable trying to throw a putter from distances greater than 100', then I would highly recommend this disc - hence my 5-star rating.

Can't imagine anyone who would not be able to use this disc!

I purchased two of these in 177g. about a week ago. One for myself and one for my daughter (11 yrs). My daughter likes the disc, but feels that her Mako 3 is even better.

Myself, I am thoroughly pleased with this disc!

The first day out I put a lazer beam shot into the basket from about 80' out!

This disc is pretty darn straight. It does usually head gently to the right (RHBH) but is about as straight a disc as I have ever encountered.

This one also performs beautifully for long gentle anhysers..... Very controlable!

Hyser shots are not something this disc can do.

A mild Hyzer shot flips up flat and sails nice and straight.

Tunnel shots are a dream with this disc. We have a very wooded local course here, and everytime I throw this disc, my friends are like "Wow, clean shot". It simply goes precisely where you point it.

It used to be that my Mako was my "go to" disc for straight shots, but this morning when I was choosing a 5 disc group for play this afternoon, the Foxbat was an easy choice over the Mako. Don't get me wrong, I still think the Mako is one of the best discs ever made, as it pretty much does whatever you tell it to do, but for very reliable straight and anhyzer shots, the Foxbat is even better.

p.s. I loaned this disc to a friend over the weekend who was playing for only the third time, and he also dropped one in the basket, for a birdie, from about 75' out.

    Very beginner friendly!

I'm a newcomer to disc golf and I was fortunate that the Foxbat was one of the first discs I had a chance to try.  It is awesome!  Glides nicely, and I don't feel I have to try to overpower it to get it to go for some distance.  Flies straight without too much turn or fade.  Good in headwinds, but can get caught up in a cross-wind.  Once I learned the fan grip, the Foxbat gave me good control on approach shots, as well.  I'll have this in my (growing) bag for some time.

Edited to add:  the Foxbat is a bit understable and if I overthrow to the right (RHBH) it will not fade back at all.  But it remains my favorite disc in my bag, and I can park it right under the basket from 175 ft. and in without having to throw hard at all.   Really, really super disc.
