I have been disc golfing for 10+ years. For years I've heard the praises of the ROC and for some reason or another I never gave it a chance. Recently I've come to realize I need something in between my MID & my putter. I figure a 4 speed disc would be preferable. The ROC to me fits that mold, it's not as wide as a MID but faster & more control  (for distance) than a putter.

HSS this disc is 4/4/0/1, LSS this disc is 4/4/0/2. When released flat and hard, it goes on a line. Release slight nose up and it will have more fade. Forehand doesn't feel bad, it doesn't feel great, but I like it's flick capability more so then the ZONE.

I have one in DX plastic which has some turn. Plan is to beat in the DX so it becomes a turnover.

This is the best disc ever made in my opinion. I'm sure there's been equally good discs made in recent years, but I just can't bring myself to bag them as this does everything I need it to. For my arm speed (just over 400 feet max), I can get a new max weight KC Pro Roc to fly absolutely straight with minimal fade at the end and beat in ones to hyzer flip to flat on lazer beans or turn depending on how much sauce I put on it. If I'm in a rush and want to play a one disc round this is the disc. If I were to play with one disc for the rest of my life, this is it. Absolute perfection in plastic form. I would say these are 4, 4, -1, 2.

The Roc is always an excellent choice for any player and can fill almost any slot in your bag as it continues to beat in. I've bagged Dx, Glow Dx, Champion, Metal Flake and Star over the years but this was my first time getting a KC Pro Roc.

In my experience the plastic feels stiff but not that's not a bad thing if you like a firmer disc or in the summer months when the sun naturally softens the plastic.

The other major difference I see with the KC Roc is that it doesn't have as hard of a finish at the end but seems to have much more glide which can lead to some awesome shots both in the woods and in the open field.

I bag 180g KC Pro Roc.  I live above 5000' elevation in Wyoming

Plastic:  this disc starts out stiff and pretty slick.  The plastic kinda has a chalky feel at first.  I've had this in the bag 2 seasons now, the more I use it the more it seems to get tacky.  It has much more grip now than when first purchased but has maintained the same stiffness

Feel:  This is a beaded midrange that has a moderate depth.  It doesn't feel too big in the hand and releases like butter when throw RHBH.  I do not like the feel for forehand, I don't with most heads.  It doesn't have a huge dome but isn't flat.  The wing has a slight concave-ness to it so it has a slightly smaller feel in the hand compared to a rounded nose or blunt nose.

Flight:  It's a straight shooting disc with a consistent soft finish at lower speeds.  If I really put some snap on it, the disc will flip up slightly (whether within its hyzer, slight turn when throw flat) but always finishes back with its spin (RHBH=Left, LHBH=Right). When thrown on anhyzer it will hold the angle all the way to the ground when thrown hard, when thrown with less power it will fight out with a forward finish at the end of the flight.  Now that mine is beat in it seems to glide a little longer and the low speed fade has softened to 1.5-2. It has great glide and can get pretty decent distance (for me about 250').  Due to the glide, I usually reach for a slightly more over stable disc in headwinds/crosswinds.

Conclusion: This has been a tried and true kid since I purchased this disc.  Through two seasons it has held up to our fairly rugged courses here in Wyoming.  It does have some chunks missing, but overall has held up well and is still comfortable to throw without sanding, repairs, etc..  This disc should be beginner friendly, it is a stable disc at lower speeds but with a speed rating of 4 most players should be able to comfortably throw this disc.  Until the arm speed gets faster, it will maintain a stable/overstable flight.  There is a reason the roc has been a staple for most people for as many years as it has.

The kc pro roc is one of my favorite mid ranges ever, having played for over 10 years and having tried a great many mid ranges. One thing that is great about it is that the plastic is right in between that base level and premium level. It beats in slow, but will become a disc that flies straighter and straighter, and eventually turns over more and more, faster than it would in premium plastic. It's also incredibly versatile. It is stable enough to throw reliable upshots with, as well as throw full power and get great distance with. Pros can even throw rollers with them around 400 feet. Definitely a unique and iconic mid range

What more is there to say, as far as discs go: cheap. Don't bother with a Roc below 175g, not worth it. Throw it and keep throwing it. After 1-2 weeks you won't know what to do without it. There is a reason that EVERY major company has a "Roc Clone". The GOAT.

ROCs are wierd. They can literally fit all the slots in your bag- overstable, stable/straight, and understable.

This disc is stranger than most because as you use it, it becomes a completely different disc. Like, COMPLETELY different. That's why you hear pros describe them as hyzer flip discs or discs that are very straight. Right now all the rocs in my bag are stable to understable and they all turn. If I throw one of my used (not crazy beat up) rocs with enough power to go say, 275', then it's turning and pretty much never coming back. The ROCs in my bag range from numbers like "4 5 -3 0" to "4 3 0 3" depending on how seasoned it is and what plastic it's made from. So that's kind of insane to think the same disc transforms that much over time.

I personally love them, but I really wouldn't recommend them to anyone over any other disc. Try a buzz or a mako3. Both of those discs are easier to hold and throw. If I didn't start with them then I wouldn't be throwing them now.

Unfortunately for me Roc's just don't fly the way I've seen them thrown by others. Try as I might the flight characteristics just seem off.

Pick one up however and see how they fly for you because for everyone other than myself, this disc is the workhorse of many bags.

    12x KC PRO ROC:

I really wanted to like this plastic so bad! I mean come on! It's named after the Champ himself. It's the grip for me. It just always feels like it is about to slip out of my hand for some reason. I'd much rather bag a DX Roc. Love the disc. Hate the slippery KC Pro plastic. I currently bag a Champion ROC X3 instead.

I found this disc in a river well off the beaten path and it didn't have a number or name. Everyone talks about how the Roc can beat into an amazing late flight gradual turnover disc, or at least that's what you see pros like Philo or Ricky work them to. Well, when I found and started throwing the Roc, it had been beaten in to this perfect stage. For me it would fly dead straight all the way to the ground when I started throwing it. But lately, with the right amount of spin on the disc, it rides to the right (RHBH) during the last quarter of the flight. Or I can start it out on hyzer and it finishes straight. I can get a similar flight out of some putters, but when you need that shot with greater distance, low ceiling, etc. no other disc quite does the same thing. Either too much fade or flip with my other mids. The Mako3 gets close, but needs more power to get that type of flight. So if you're looking for a disc that fits this shot shape and dont mind spending time to work out it's stability from the box, you'll learn to love the Roc

This is my go to disc for those off-the-tee shots that have lines a putter could easily grab, but need a little more distance. Beginners just starting out will find this disc forgiving, but as they progress the KC Roc will bring out flaws in their form.

Don't get discouraged, keep throwing it. Finding a disc more over stable will just mask inconsistencies in your form and stunt your progression.

All you need to change the flight is a simple turn of the wrist. Keeping a "natural" straight wrist will turn this disc over making it perfect for people needing a disc with RHFH or LHBH characteristics. A turned down wrist and a straight pull through will give a small amount of almost "flex shot" turn with a slight fade at the end. Be careful with spin, too much spin no matter what your wrist angle will turn it over.

In summery, think putter, but more comfortable in the hand and more finesse-able.

A great mid-range. The KC Pro plastic feels grippy and good in the hand. I can use it on longer holes as it is quite work resistant and has great glide. Be careful with your aim though, this can get some bruises from hitting trees. I love the rock as it has nice straight glide with a good hyzer to finish it.

I like this mid-range, but it's not nearly as overstable for me than described.  It feels great, is very consistent, but the flight ratings for me are more like 4, 4, 0, 1.5...  But, I can count on this disc not to turn over and I do like it.  It's just not as overstable as described.

I avoided both the Roc and Roc3 for a while because I do not like the feel of the wing in my hand. Despite having heard great things about both discs and seeing people throw great shots with them on my local course, I kept dodging them.  I recently played in a tournament with several KC pro discs to chose from in the players pack (gators, aviars and rocs). I decided to try the roc, and wow.

I still don't really like the feel of the wing but I love the feel of the KC pro plastic and the flight more than makes up for any minor discomfort. New, it was little on the OS side, but after just a couple weeks of regular throwing its become more dead straight with a tiny fade, if any.

It seems like this is one of those discs that tells you exactly what you're doing. It will flip up from small hyzers providing a laser straight line with no fade if you keep it low enough, but, in general, If you throw with angle it will pretty much hold that angle. It is stable but it can be thrown on turnover lines, it will only flex out of small anhyzers. Backhand into a headwind and it will look like a forehand shot unless you eat the turn with a decent amount of angle.

Distance-wise this is one of my further flying mids. It consistently hits the 250-280ft mark but I can push it up to 300. If I need any more distance out of a midrange I'll grab my Buzzz (290-310ft) and If I need more stability I'll grab my DGA Quake (270-300ft), but when you consider that 280ft dead straight leaves you closer to the target than 300ft with turn or fade then this is probably my furthest mid, or leaves me closer to the pin, anyway.

Overall great beginner disc, but maybe not as much for a completely new beginner. I kind of wish I had found this one as soon as I had beat my starter set shark into understable territory, but I probably wasn't quite ready for it. It is a very responsive disc once you can hit a line consistently and have some basic angle control. I look forward to taking this to some more woodsy courses because it is quite the gap hitter.

I don't think I'll mess with it in any other plastic, though. KC pro is magic stuff, its a little hard to explain, but it starts out feeling like lotion and somehow blends with the oils in your hand over time to feel like an extension of your own body, you just gotta try it.

If you like a beaded disc and need to throw consistent lines, this is your disc.  The Roc is well known and loved for a reason.  It flies where you tell it to, which sometimes is telling of your form and technique.  As you improve this disc becomes more valuable.  It is somewhat stable as the description would suggest, but as it ages, it losens up and becomes the workhorse everyone loves it to be.  I own one in a gummy dx plastic that has stood up to many hits and tree shots.  It isn't my favorite disc to throw, but as I've improved I've liked it more and more.  I personally throw a buzzz from discraft for most of my mid shots because I prefer the beadless discs.  The roc is essentially a beaded buzzz in my mind.  Great as a first mid that will grow with your game.

My disc is a gstar roc. This disc has been very useful to me as a beginner-intermediate player to recognize errors in my release. This is because it flies on any angle you put it on, but will still fade left on RHBH if thrown too slow. It is very helpful to learn how to hold anhyzer lines, throw straight rips, or get hyzer flip to flat shots. Overall, very versatile and very reliable for its flight path

    KC pro roc, 177g.

The roc feels great in the hand. Nice for a fan grip, the bead fits well. The KC pro plastic is nice and stiff, with good grip. Flight-wise, this thing is great. Brand new, I'd say 4,4,0,3 makes sense, but the roc is known for it's flight once you beat it in. Probably around 4,5,-1,1. One thing I love about the roc is that it will hold great angles. Flat it will go straight. Anhyzer, it'll turn, and pan out a bit at the end. Hyzer, it will hold the angle the whole way with a nice, gentle, slow fade. This disc's dependability and virsatility is what makes it so great. Anytime I need a straight shot around 250 feet, I will choose the roc. Definitally my straightest flyer.

The numbers that I have listed below may sound crazy but if you have good form this disc is essentially a slow buzzz not os or ss. The disc I have is not very beat in and 176 g but i can turn it way to easily for it to be a 0 turn 3 fade disc. Great distance disc for beginners even better control disc for experienced players with moderate arm speed and good form.

It has been a journey for the Roc to become, not only my favorite mid-range, but also my favorite disc. My first Roc was a DX and I couldn't throw it well and often grip-locked it. For I while I would only use the Roc for sketchy shots capable of losing the disc because I didn't care to lose it. However, I started to notice that I was making some amazing throws with it. When I started using a modified fan grip for mid-ranges, the Roc became super controllable, and became my favorite disc. I've become amazingly accurate with it (relative to my past self, not a pro haha), and honestly just love watching it fly in the air after the release. It is a soft graceful flier that basically holds the lines I send it on with a slight fade at the end. It also handles wind well. I'm now bagging 4 Roc's and the max weight KC Pro is by far may favorite. The lid seems a little thinner than the DX, but it is much more durable.

KC Roc - legendary for a good reason. Consistent and super straight. The flight numbers for this disc are a little misleading, as I'm pretty sure they are just from when the disc was first patented and people generally didn't throw as well as now. A more reasonable, modern rating were be 4/5/0/2 when new, though they beat in within a few rounds to be laser straight. The KC plastic will retain that straight flight for a lot longer than the DX, and they just get glidier and glidier as they season.

You don't buy a Roc for what it is, you buy one for what it becomes.

The Innova KC Pro Roc is a super straight flying beaded midrange that will glide for days with possibly a touch of finish This is disc is essentially a beaded Buzzz and as a result is very beginner-friendly. The KC Pro plastic does not feel very premium but it gives this disc nice grip and an incredibly straight flight. All things considered, the Roc is a classic mold from Innova that has stood the test of time and is quite possibly the greatest neutral midrange in the game.

The KC pro roc is one of the best midranges in production, and is equal to or better than the buzzz depending on how you like the unique feel of the roc.  The kc pro roc is a great disc for cycling.  It beats in slowly and can fill a variety of shot shapes depending on the condition of the disc.  When I first bought the roc, I didn't love the feel of the rim in my hand.  It's unique compared to most midranges, and can be a bit awkward until you get used to it.  However, after having the roc for about six months, I've gotten used to the feel of the roc and actually like the way it feels.  The KC pro roc is very durable and can take tree hits like a champion (pun intended), so it will last awhile.  The roc starts out slightly overstable, with a reliable fade at the end.  As mine wore in, it became dead straight and I could use it for a variety of shot shapes.  One of my favorite things about my Roc in its current beat in state is its usefulness for turnover/anhyzer shots.  Put the roc on anny, and it will glide to the right while holding its line but it smoothes out at the end, trying to fade but not being able to.

Overall, the kc pro roc is one of my favorite discs.  It is perfect for about any shot (except my forehands don't work that well with it) and can help you on any course.  Just look at Ricky Wysocki.  He bags tons of rocs and can throw them over 400 feet.

At brand new, this disc has a dependable left turn throughout its flight when thrown flat. The KC Pro beats in nicely and rather quickly. Over some months, my Roc is now a straight flyer but with a dependable fade at the end. I can fit it nicely in my hands and rip it rather hard to get that straight flight with no turn over. Excellent disc and a go-to mid range for me.

I'm definitely going against popular opinion here, but I did not like this disc.  I'm a disc minimalist and I thought this could be "the" midrange for me, something that could hold up in wind but still fly straight.  I tried and tried to make it work, but in the end it didn't.  I didn't like the feel of it in my hand.  I had trouble throwing it in the wind.  It turned over on me a ton.  I had a few nice shots with it, but it didn't make up for the several that went wayward right.  I felt like it was extremely touchy on how to release it.  Some might argue it's good practice for form, but for me it was just frustration.  I've switched over to the Buzzz and have had a much better experience with it. I prefer the grip of it and the feel of the disc.  It flies straighter, does turn over as much, and I just trust it more.

If my target is too far for a putter and I'm worried about overshooting with my Emac, I'll throw a Rancho Roc and it'll be just right. I have KCP to work in to straight and turnover and a champ Rancho Roc for more OS shots.

The greatest midrange ever made. When new, they have good glide and a dependable fade with no high speed turn. Keep throwing them, and when they start to wear in is where the magic happens. The fade starts to disappear, the glide gets longer, and they turn into frozen rope lasers. Finally, when a lesser disc would have to be retired due to lack of stability, the Roc lives on as a predictable turnover driver. No other midrange has ever come close.

I steered clear of this disc for a long time because of the large bead that it has. I had never held it but heard that some people were bothered by how the bead felt in the hand. Went searching for a new midrange to try a while ago and figured I would at least give it a try, and this disc quickly replaced all but 1 of my midranges. It holds up to its legendary reputation. A nice stable flyer that holds really straight even with a lot of power, and has gotten even better with time and use. It starts to glide more when it beats in and finish straighter. The only thing I don't like this disc for is forehands.

KC Pro Rocs are all around the best disc to have in the bag. They are an over stable mid range that beats into a straight to slightly flippy disc with amazing control fro beginners up to the top pros.

You can never go wrong with a KC Pro Roc.  These start out stable to overstable and beat in to a perfect straight flying midrange.  I use these as my straight to stable/overstable mids.  Then for my straight to understable mids its the McPro roc3.  The KC has a nice dome which allows it to glide very nicely.  I'll use my KCs for any shot between 250-300.  The plastic has a great stiff but grippy feel to it.  At first this will be a nice stable midrange that can handle some wind and then over time it will break into a trusty straight flyer.

This disc is very easy to get a great throw out of. Predictable fade and good grip. It’s a classic for a reason.

This is a perfect disc for everyone looking to throw exactly where they're aiming. The KC Pro Roc breaks in slowly so you can use it for a long time. This disc holds it's line well. You can put it on anny, hyzer, or just flat straight.

If you are going to grow with a disc, this is the one to do that with. KC Rocs were THE midrange for years. This disc will fly like a faster putter. As the disc gets some age, it flies straighter then eventually turns. As the disc ages, the player acquires a new on, and the cycle begins.

The only negative to this disc is the inability to cleanly forehand it. If you'd like to see some of the cleanest upshots in the game, check out Philo Brathwaite. He is sponsored by Innova and has been throwing Rocs forever.

On a side note, flat top KC rocs are awesome too if you can find them.

This disc has a great flight but is not comfortable for backhands. The flight of the disc is great though, I would recommend the Roc3 for a more comfortable feel.

I love the small bead; it works great for my smaller fingers.  My flat roc is one of my favorite discs.  These are so reliable.

The KC Pro Roc was the first disc that I could throw with confidence. With slow reliable turn and fade the Roc is a point and shoot disc. Pretty much every Innova Pro throws a KC Pro Roc or at least has a Roc/Roc3. Philo Brathwaite has like 7 DX Roc's for good reason. If you have some experience playing disc golf and you're looking for a reliable mid range, grab a Roc, and if the Roc is too understable grab a Roc3.

Recently started bagging KC Pro Roc's in my bag.  I love the ability to break them in to perfectly flat, and feel like they have significantly more glide than my ROC3's.  I will undoubtedly keep rotating through the KC Pro's to keep straight and slight turnover ones in my bag at all times.

The KC Pro Roc is by far one of the most reliable discs in my bag. The distance is respectable, the flight is consistent, it holds its own in the wind, and I have come to call it my pathfinder because no matter how rough or wooded a green is, the KC Pro Roc seems to find a way through it.

I keep a Champion Roc3 in my bag as well, but primarily for overstable upshots. For the most part the KC Pro Roc gets me where I need to go when a drive fails me or if I need a get out of jail free card.

A must have for any midrange lineup.

The KC Pro Roc is my go to Mid-range/Putter for anything within 200 feet of the hole. It starts out extremely straight then has a nice predictable fade to finish it off. The more you use it, and beat it up, the better this disc gets as it becomes less stable. I found it a little hard to throw when first starting out but as I keep using it I became an expert with it. No matter where I was from the hole, I'm always am able to put this disc within a short putt of the hole. When I started out I threw my disc into a wall for a good 10 minutes or so to help beat it up so I don't have to waste my team beating it in by playing with it.

I have a lot of coworkers that bought this exact disc after they thew mine around for a round or two. This can arguably be one of the top must have disc for any disc golfer no matter what your skill level.

I experimented with a ton of other putters but after throwing this one so much, I actually ditched using a putter for my putts. This disc flies so straight that I can usually make a putt from pretty deep without much trouble. It's all about what your comfortable with. The more you use a disc, the better you know how to throw it. This is definitely one of the discs you need to learn how to throw. BUY NOW. You won't regret it.

I recently bought a KC Pro Roc and loved it from my first throw. This disc is so versatile, feels great in the hand, and goes just where I want it to. The KC Pro version is a pretty stiff disc, which I really like. The Roc will fly very straight, hold its line, and then finish with a predictable fade. The best part is, as this disc wears in, it will become more less stable. You can fill your mid-range needs with Rocs that are worn in to varying degrees. I would say this is a must have for most disc golf players. Brand new players need to be aware of it's stability. It will be farily stable out of the box, but if you have learned to throw properly already, you will be just fine. I would recommend this disc to almost anyone playing the game! I really like the KC Pro plastic, but the Dx plastic is also very popular. Go ahead and get one!

The Roc is just the best disc ever. I carry two of them, and I actually think the have less fade than advertised. They are insanely straight and will hold whatever line you put it on. Great utility disc for anything inside of 300 ft. Get a Roc!

Loving this disc. With a bit of anhyzer, it flys straight with a small bit of fade at the end. Thrown flat, it flys dead straight then fades a good amount when it slows down. With a bit of hyzer, it flattens out but arcs left for the whole flight. Necessary addition to any bag.

There is not much that I can say about a roc that hasn't already been said. Very straight with a nice consistent fade at the end of the flight. I have spent the most time on my midrange game and have gone through probably about 10 molds. I did not like the roc the first time I used it, but after a couple months I went back to it and fell in love. I now carry three KC pro rocs all in different stages of stability. Once you beat them in enough, rocs are the only midrange that you need in your bag.

There is no better disc. The KC Pro Roc (175g+, preferably 180) is the most consistent disc I've ever thrown. I own two of them and they wear in slowly but predictably. I have one that I've played with all season that is slightly understable, and a new one that still has the "bite" at the end of flight. Fade is predictable and quick when the disc is new, but as you wear the disc in it will fly longer with less fade. I carry 4 Roc's in my bag (one new KC Pro, one dead-nuts-straight DX, one slightly understable KC Pro, and one very understable DX). The reason I keep coming back to this disc is because even through their wearing process, they still remain predictable and do not become squirrely. Go pick on up ASAP!

I have to admit that I was missing one most important disc: it was roc. I now have a kc pro roc (174 gm I think). Unlike Z buzz it doesn't go that far. For me, it goes exactly the similar distance and path that is shown in innova roc. Z buzz can be a great disc when there is a wide room for hyzer shots. For tunnel shots to open shots under 300 ft, I will use kc roc. I may not use it for anhyzer throw until it will have a good beat in condition; I use Z glide, a beat up leopard, a beat up JLS or challenger putter for that purpose for up to 300 ft. I will buy another kc roc from infinite discs as soon as my kc roc starts to fade right in normal flat throw. I think roc is a must have disc in your bag.

People often compare the Buzzz and the Roc. It is probably the most debated topic in disc golf. Buzzz and Roc fly differently; some players carry both for different purposes. Most Roc throwers carry several Rocs in different condition. Rocs start out over stable and beat-in for stable to under stable flights. Buzzz start out fairly stable and beat in to be understand. Look for a Hornet, Wasp, or Drone for a overstable Discraft Midrange.
