The Pro Shryke offers a more flexible and grippy texture than premium plastics. It tends to have more high-speed turn, which makes it easier to shape turnover lines and long rollers.

    Pro Details

Innova Pro Line uses a special blend of plastics that provide unique qualities for each disc model. The different blends of Pro Line plastic produce discs with a wide range of rigidity from extremely soft to firm and stiff.

Pro plastic is more durable than DX, and provides a better grip than Champion Plastic. Discs in pro plastic tend to be slightly more understable than counterparts of the same mold in other premium plastic blends.

I did field work with this along with a dozen other drivers, and for the disc I have at least, the numbers seem right. The 13 speed will likely make this too overstable for beginners despite the balanced turn/fade ratio -- which for power throwers, could make this a mite too understable. But in general for most average players, I think the Shryke should be a really good disc: It is more susceptible to wind than overstable discs, but still gives a pretty reliable flight both into and with the wind, and compares quite well with my best drivers -- Destroyer, Maya, Wave, Katana -- being pretty consistently among the farthest thrown discs. It's a bit riskier than some throwing into a headwind, but not too bade (better than the Maya or Katana). I've only had one disc in Pro plastic until now, and it's a bit beat up. The Pro plastic for my Shryke actually feels different than the other, a bit more like the Star plastic, so hopefully it will be more durable and last better than the other. It does have a good, grippy feel and releases cleanly. Mine is a slightly purple-pink, opaque color (with a blue metallic stamp) unlike anything else in my collection, so it's very easy to pick out in my bag and to spot out on the course.

I have owned a star Shryke for some time and it's a bit beat in, so I bought another one to have a new one. Well, that one got lost in some weeds and I'm guessing someone found it and decided to keep it for themselves despite my name and number being on it. I digress.

My decided decided to replace that one for me as a Christmas present, but it's in the Pro plastic. It's only 1 of 2 discs I own in Pro, and I like it a lot. I like the grip/feel of it, and it does tend to be just a bit less understable than my star Shryke. All, in all, it does what I want it to do... go far and glide for days. That's what Shrykes do!

If you have never tried the Shryke, you need to! It's seriously one of the best distance drivers for slower arms or for those looking for some hyzer flip glidey action!

This is like the Beast, but can go a lot further for me. I have only spent two rounds in my life attempting to develop a forehand and I was able to get out to 350 with this forehand. I used it for the rest of the round and it proved to be my best forehand disc for distance and control. Mind you I am very much a beginner to forehand/sidearm. I think the reason for my distance was likely the high glide rating.

This is a great distance driver from Innova!  I picked up a Shryke in star palstic and at first this disc was a big meat hook.  After some fine tuning (couple well struck trees) this disc has changed into a great and reliable distance driver.  Now it flies straight for a ways before drifting right and finishing with a slight left fade (RHBH).  Considering the -2 turn, this disc even performs pretty well into a headwind.  I absolutely love this disc and will carry it in my bag for a long time.

I picked this disc up shortly after beginning to play, and I feel in love quickly. It is the only distance driver I use. I throw RHFH, and it is about the only disk I can throw consistently.

The Shryke is a good introduction to the ultra high speed distance drivers. If you throw over 300 feet with a slower distance driver in the speed 9 to 10 category then the Shryke would give you more distance off the tee.

The disc will go extremely far whether you release it hyzer, flat, or anhyzer. I would not recommend it for extreme winds but it can handle some moderate head winds. It really shines when thrown in a tailwind or uphill.

The rim is comfortable for both forehands and backhand throws. As with Destroyers check how convex(less stable) or concave(more stable) to get the perfect one for you arm speed. The Pro and Star are very similar in stability while the champion is the most over stable variant I have tried. Pick Pro if you want to beat one in quicker.

I would agree with the flight ratings in the glide category - it has amazing glide. The turn is very subjective as it can vary depending on wind and power. As with all distance drivers.

PRO PLASTIC (170): Flies very close to the #'s, I rate it: 13,6,-2,1.5.  When I got this little bomber I now have an understable disc with crazy glide, great speed that is quickly becoming one of my favorite discs.  This is perfect for tail winds or calm days.  Having said that I'd never use this with a headwind.

STAR PLASTIC: I'd rate my 175 Star 13, 6, -1, 2.5.   This is MUCH more stable than my Pro plastic version.  I've seen/thrown several different Star Shrykes and found a wide variety of flights, with the majority of them Stable, even OS.

This is great for a beginner/intermediate who wants to step up their distance game. For someone who has been playing for a little while but is still really a beginner, this is your max driver right here. This bad boy will SAIL if you can release on a good line. I used to use this for big, open field drives to get a sweet S curve and get max distance. I highly recommend the Shryke for more experienced beginners who want that huge distance.
