The Viking was my first fairway/control driver purchase and I have been very pleased with the results I have gotten out of this disc. I got the Viking in Champion X-Out plastic. One of the first things I noticed after a few throws was there roughness to the inside edge of the rim that would scrap my fingers as I released it, however after about a week or two of throwing the disc the roughness seems to have smoothed out and it no longer bothers me when throwing.

The Viking has a very nice flight path, great for threading a narrow fairway or navigating low ceiling. I do have to intentionally think about slowing down when throwing so I do not turn the disc over into a cut roller. I find that the Viking is a nice compliment to the Firebird.

I would definitely suggest the Viking to those looking for a fairly straight control driver!

Was kind of in a rut where it comes to Innova discs. They always seemed more overstable than necessary, less reliable for me, IMO.

Bought the viking out of some weird nostalgia. Better than I remember, seemed to stand up to flat better than I remember. Would recommend.

The Viking is a great disc for players who have been throwing more understable distance drivers, and they are starting to overpower them a bit. This is the next step up in stability, but it is still a disc that won't get too overstable on you. It has a little bit of turn in the flight, but a decent fade back at the end. I was able to get some nice distance from the Viking, and it was very controllable. This is really an overlooked and underrated disc.

This has turned out to be a great disc for me. I have played around 8 rounds of golf. The disc is still probably a little too fast for me, but I get great (for me) distance out of it with very little fade at the end. Some reviewers have said this disc is excellent for forehand throws. However, I find it much less predictable for forehands compared to the Thunderbird. If you are looking for a good forehand disc at speed 9, you should start with Thunderbird. However, my forehand is much stronger than my backhand, so that may be a particular quirk for me.

Great disc for my developing arm.
