Consistency is a prized quality in disc golf, instilling confidence in players. The Kastsaplast Berg X epitomizes such dependability. Retaining the core traits of the original Berg in terms of feel and flight, the Berg X shines when given more power. No matter how much you put into it, the flight path remains unwavering, making it an ideal choice for forehand approaches.

Compared to the Berg, the Berg X will have more torque-resistance and a more prominent fade.

Are you throwing all your putters too far? Do you need a nice disc for that short hyzer shot on your home course? Do you need a good get out of jail disc?  Or a putter for those tricky forehand flick shots? Is the Berg too straight for you?

Well this is it, the BergX.

It feels very similar to a regular Berg.  There is a very slight difference on the bottom wing of the disc that can't really be noticed when throwing it. It isn't any crazy meat hook disc, but it for sure wants to hyzer.  Thrown hard and flat, it will fly similar to the Berg, but will fade earlier and harder.  Great for short hyzer shots in the woods.

The Berg X is a really good disc. As a forehand dominant player, it is great for shorter shorts that you would need some stability or even a small flex line. I feel like the Berg X that I have is a little glidey, but I still use it a lot and hit a lot of smaller gaps with it.

Like the Berg, the Berg X is exactly what it says it is. Slow and stable with little ground play. Like a good dog, Berg sits. Berg stays. The Berg X more so.

Some of this is definitely plastic based so it's not a genuine apples to apples comparison.

I've historically thrown K3 Bergs and they quickly beat into dead straight discs that are perfect for the 150-200 distance. However I found I wanted a bit more fade on my approaches so I could shape a line if needed. Enter my K1 BergX. Thrown backhand or forehand it goes straight and reliably fades. Where the Berg held the line it was thrown on, I can shape a shot with the BergX. How much of that is the mold and how much is the plastic? I can't honestly say. They're both great, they don't feel too different in my hand so it probably just comes down to what you're looking to do with the disc.

I had heard many say that the Berg X is essentially just a Berg. That's not true. It feels very similar to a Berg, so you know you'll love the feel whether it's forehand or backhand. However, the Berg X definitely has more stability in that it won't flip up at all and it has a heavier fade. It's not like you'll be able to throw flex shots with it, and that's why I bag a Cryztal Flx Zone to compliment this disc, but it's great for holding Anyhyzer angles or for making runs at the basket without going way past it.

If you're looking for a great approach disc, give the Berg X a try. For the longest time I just wished they came out with this mold in a K1 Soft version, and as I was making this review, I noticed that they now have it in soft, so I'll be getting one soon!

Heck yeah! Overstable approach disc that likes to get to the ground fast. Thrown with full power and some anhyzer, this thing can go surprisingly far, but generally is used for shorter approaches just outside jump putt territory. Good scramble disc as well, as long as you don't need it to flex out... it takes a whole lot of height to give this disc a chance at flexing out since it generally drops quickly.

Berg-x is a berg that won't turn over. It allows you to throw a berg (x) hard and without concern of overtorque. Great for woods and downhill upshots and forehand upshots. Basically it turns the berg into an upshot disc but won't replace it for putting. K1 soft bergs remain my putters but I trust my first run k1 berg-x more on the approach.

Let me be clear on this next part: Turbo putters...regular berg is superior for you. More finger surface area contact and control.

This is a more stable and torque restance Berg. I bag this disc for side arms that are <200 ft where discs like the Toro or Zone are a touch too fast. The disc is unique enought that it makes sense to bag alongside a faster approach disc.  I perfer this disc for power side arms that are thrown flat or with hyzer. On this shot this disc will hold the line you put it on and have some decent fade. The fade is more dumpy and less of a carry when compared to other approcah discs.  I would not reccomend using this for flex shots because it will come down before it has time to flex out.

*NOTE* I only give 5 stars out to discs that I bag and throw actively. A 4-star disc is still great and may come in and out of the bag for me and I can see another player actively bagging it.

First off, I don't bag 1 speeds. I think that they're a bit gimmicky and that if I need to throw a touchy shot then I should be able to throw with touch. That being said, if I did bag a 1 speed... it would be the Berg X. If given a blank Berg and a Berg X I would not be able to tell the difference without looking at the back. Both molds feel super similar, which I appreciate. Compared to a fresh K1 Berg, the Berg X is most definitely more torque resistant and does not turn on me at all. A true 'zero' turn disc in the sense that it holds the initial line given, and then proceeds to fade for the last 20-30% of the flight. I don't hate the flight numbers that Kasty gave the Berg X and I can see why they gave it a +1 for turn, especially when compared to the regular Berg. Great hand feel and a great flight. I can definitely see this disc coming into my bag for fun or for the occasional one-disc round with friends.
