The Astra is one of the best high speed distance drivers for beginners and intermediate players. For the standard backhand throw, there is a good chance that the Astra will fly farther than any other disc in your bag. This disc turns, glides, and then fades back for an overall stable flight that is just plain farther than other golf discs. The Millennium Astra comes in two different quality plastics. The standard plastic is a quality mid-grade blend that offers an excellent grip in all weather conditions. Quantum plastic is more durable and will maintain flight consistency for longer periods of time.

PLEASE DON'T USE THE FLIGHT NUMBERS PROVIDED. This is definitely not a -2 turn in my opinion, or Millennium's opinion either (just go look up their flight chart).

I picked out this disc because I was trying to replace my CD3's because I didn't want to jump through so many hurdles to get backups. While it still can be tricky to find Astras, I manged to buy an identical pair online. After playing a round with these for one round, I can safely say they fit the slot perfectly, even when they are in Quantum Plastic. When hit flat it will go straight and turn for a bit before fighting out into a solid fade. I'd say the stability falls in between a Wraith and a CD3, and I still keep my Wraiths in case that's just what I feel like using. As an added bonus, Stardust Quantum is a GORGEOUS plastic.

Go out a try an Astra! If you're worried about the speed as a newer player, give their Standard Plastic a try instead!

I bought this disc as it was rated really high and recommended for beginners.  However, I rarely was able to get this disc to do what I wanted.  I'm not sure if I should have gone with a lighter disc or if the rim was to wide for my hands or what but I was usually disappointed with the results.  Sorry to give it three stars when I see all the five stars but I just didn't have much luck with this disc.  I recently lost it at the local course and wasn't overly distressed about it.

I picked up an Astra pre-owned, and use it as my go-to driver on rocky courses because the champion plastic holds up so well.  It flies nicely with a predictable fade.  As my form improves, it's becoming more and more understable when flown with power, but for someone who's newer, it's a perfect driver to experiment flex shots.  Throw it straight and watch the Astra-glide!
