The original Omega driving putter has received a new face lift. The classic micro-bead Omega putter is now available with a flat '3-top' which gives the Omega Driver faster speed as well as more distance and fade than the original Omega putter. This makes it a great option off the tee, or for longer approaches and upshots.

This is a really nice addition to the Millennium lineup. The DT Omega Driver offers some added stability to a comfortable feeling version of the classic Omega mold. This disc feels very similar to the Aviar 3, with a low profile, flat top, but with an added small bead. This disc is very comfortable in hand. The flight of the DT Omega is fairly straight with a nice fade at the end. This will serve as a nice driving putter for those looking for an Omega/Aviar style disc.

Disc: Bottom stamp DT Millennium Omega Driver (run 2.1) - 175 grams

Playing Conditions: Summer 75-100 degrees F with varying wind in the Midwest

Feel:The DT plastic from the first run of these is grippy and durable enough for a baseline plastic, very similar to Innova DX.

Same flat top profile shared with the Innova Aviar3 (beadless) & Discmania P3x (big bead) but with a comfortable micro/small bead increasing the overall height/rim depth.

I believe the dimensions provided by InFlight shown above are for the 1.x mold and not the 2.x one. Dimensions for this newly updated Omega Driver should fall between Aviar3 and P3x.

Flight:New, the DT Omega Driver has a bit of stability when thrown flat and will fade at the end of any flight released on anhyzer or flat angles. No high speed turn produced when overpowered. Thrown on hyzer angles it will flip up and get to flat before fading during low speed flight. Typically I will reach for the Omega Driver for 200' to 230' straight to slightly turned over shots.

After wearing the plastic in ~6 months of use as a driving/approach putter it has lost most of the low speed fade and has become a great putter to throw and hold release angles. Still no high speed turn but I have gotten it to hold a nice slow turning flight when thrown with a little anhyzer. Reduced fade also allows for improved glide forward instead of fading at the end of flight. Overpowering the 3 speed rating is possible but the Omega Driver will slow down and glide at a cruising speed somewhere around 3 or 4. I find that it doesn't require much of a ceiling or air under it to produce the glide rating. Occasional use for straight putting when the situation calls for it.

Impressions & Comparisons:Off the shelf, the ratings for the DT Omega Driver is probably between the DX Aviar3 (3/2/0/2) and D-Line P3x (3/2/0/3). The DT plastic will break in within a short time span and reduce the fade rating to be very neutral. Hopefully other plastic types will become available but DT is more than capable at handling driving/approach duties in my bag. I bought a couple extras to start a cycle out of and paired a C-Line P3x for over stable flight with a similar feel but better durability.

It's a shallow, flat-top putter with no turn and consistent fade true to the numbers. It feels somewhat wind resistant and I love it after one round as an approach disc.

4 stars because the plastic feels like DX and I can already tell it's going to beat in very quickly, especially as a driver / midrange. Might last longer if I was only hitting chains, but that's not why I bought it.

This putter strait out of the box feels like a midrange. It will jump right up to flat and then end with a predictable fade to the left if you throw RHBH. I like this disc for a tee shot putter.
