The Orion LF is an excellent addition to anyone's bag. It's a 9-speed fairway driver with high glide, that is very stable to mildly overstable.

Out of the box, it is initially very torque-resistant, with no high speed turn and a strong fade. (I'd estimate 9/5/0/2.5) The fade, while strong, keeps the disc pushing forward, rather than just dumping. As it beats in, the SOLF (Sirius Orion LF) will develop a little high speed turn, and the fade will straighten out. (I'd call it 9/5/-.5/2)

For recreational and intermediate players, the SOLF will be a reliable, overstable distance driver for backhands or forehands; it will stand up to stiff headwinds without flipping, and the high glide will give great distance.

For advanced or pro-level arms, the SOLF really comes into it's own. Given 300' of power or more, the disc will hold a rail-straight line before the fade kicks in. More seasoned discs will slowly flip up to flat and glide for a country mile!

This is a great disc that could easily be a part of anyone's bag.  This is a long gliding control driver with enough stability to fight the wind, but isn't necessarily overstable.  Comparing to Innova molds (for ease of comparison), I think the stability of the SOLF is between a Thunderbird and a Valkaryie while maintaining great distance potential in both.  The Sirius plastic provides great grip in all conditions and is very durable.  This disc truly excels when thrown on a slight hyzer-flip on long straights that hold a line for a very long time before the late stability kicks in for a decent finish.  Anyone looking for an all-condition control driver needs to check the Orion LF out, you will not be disappointed.

My SOLF is 169g 1.6 run.  I've been very impressed with the Orion Long Fade, it's a very good disc if you are looking for a driver with a good mix of distance and stability.  The Sirius plastic feels very nice in my hand as it has a good amount of grip and flexibility.  The disc is pretty flat with not much dome and the rim configuration is interesting.  The rim feels comfortable although it did take me a little bit of time before it felt good to hold.  The rim depth is on the smaller side like a fairway driver but the width feels closer to a bigger distance driver like the Wraith.

For a 9 speed driver the OLF can get some serious distance.  It has great glide and holds a nice flight pattern.  I like the strong fade the disc shows at the end of its flight, it makes it dependable but also allows me to throw hard flex shots for distance with out worrying about the disc turning over.  The disc does not dump out hard at the end of its flight, it has more of a buttery-smooth fade that doesn't put you too far to the left on a RHBH throw.

I try to use this disc as my workhorse driver for most shots up to about 350 ft where I will then disc up to a faster disc.  I was throwing a  G-Star Thunderbird in this spot in my bag but after a small try-out period I felt the OLF was a better chouce for me.  I found it more comfortable, more reliable, and had slightly better distance than my Thunderbird.  It's a good sidearm disc too.

This is potentially my favorite fairway driver. If I lay off it, the disc follows a nice stable, teebird-like line, providing a smooth consistent hyzer, even in very windy conditions. If I crank this disc hard, I can get some great glide and turn out of it, pushing the disc super far with a smooth forward fading finish. I have a 171 G Sirius Orion  LF that does not leave my bag. I use this disc in almost any situation, whether it’s clubbing up to it for a hyzer in the wind, a sneaky anhyzer in calm conditions, or even a nice hyzerflip to flat forehand shot! Any player should be able to find this disc useful to their respective skill level! 5 stars!!!

    Disc: Millennium Orion LF - Sirius (run 1.4 & swirled 1.5) - 167g to 175g

Feel: Shallow feeling with a very slight dome, the Orion LF in Sirius plastic feels great both backhand and forehand. The Sirius blend for runs 1.4 is a little stiffer than the 1.5, with the 170g+ 1.4 ones being the stiffest. All have pretty standard grip for a premium durable blend and have held up pretty well to rock hits, tree kicks, and rolling around.

Flight: Straight to Overstable flight patterns which can be manipulated with good angle control. Enough stability to fight the wind well in a predictable manner. Good amount of glide when hit with enough power and correct nose angle. Shows turn out of the box in the 175g run 1.5 swirled and 167g run 1.4. Flight numbers provided by Millennium are 9/5/-1/2 (for all plastic blends), but the near max weight ones are more in the 9/4+/-1/3 off the shelf.

Impressions: As a hybrid between fairway and distance speeds, the Orion LF brings a high glide, torque resistant, comfortable package that make it versatile for a wide variety of shots. A step up from what I'd recommend for a beginner, the Orion LF should suit most Intermediate players as a controlled distance driver to learn with.

Comparisons:  Here are some similar discs with thoughts on the Orion LF's differences:

    • Teebird3 - OLF is faster, similar dome and comfort. Slightly more stable
    • Exodus - OLF is faster, similar dome and stability
    • Orion LS - OLF is more stable, similar dome but different rim feel
    • Thunderbird - OLF is flatter, similar rim feel and flight characteristics, easier to FH
    • PD - OLF is less overstable and flatter, similar rim feel, easier to FH
    • Draco - OLF is less overstable and has more dome, much more glide
    • Starfire - OLF is flatter and slower with similar flight characteristics
    • Wraith - OLF is slower with similar flight characteristics

Sirius falls in the middle of the stability for available plastic blends

This disc can fit into just about anyones bag. It is a straight flying fairway driver that, once beat in, holds a hyzer flip line perfectly. While the biggest negative was that it beat in pretty quickly, I find myself using this disc more and more for straight the more beat in it gets. Probably not something I would give people just starting, but definitely useful for people who need a straight shot to hold straight.

Am loving this for my O/S driver slot.  Was looking for something similar to a Getaway, but a bit more grippy in the Texas heat, and this fit the bill.  Dependable fade, but can still go straight for a while before it does.  Sirius plastic feels excellent.  I prefer the feel of this disc to the Thunderbird also

I have been on the search for control drivers for a while.  I have used a bunch of discs in the speed 9-10 range for stable drives.  In the past I've used an Orion LS and LF.  Time went on and I decided to revisit this mold.  To me the Orion is the original Thunderbird.  It is very much like an Orc in the sense that it allows some initial turn to play with giving longer straight phase in the first 60% of the flight (workable in the woods to flex)

Quantum is champion plastic and typically more stable-overstable than the other plastics.  Sirius is Star and while still stable can develop a little turn.  Standard seems to be like Pro plastic and would be great for cycling.

Based on Quantum 172g: It flew 9/5/-0.5/2.5 - definitely stable with a solid hyzer finish, withstands winds.  Comfortable in the hand - my only problem is that Quantum is hard to find in an assortment of colors/weights - Hopefully Millenium makes more of these or stores request more as they are great discs. Much like an Orc or Thunderbird.

Based on Sirius 171g: it Flew 9/5/-1/2 - was able to get a hint of turn when trying to extend the flight.  On a hyzer (slight angle) it will stand up flat and go with a healthy medium fade at the end. Hyzers hold and pan out nicely.  Anhyzer will hold over a little longer since the high speed stability allows it.  But the fade will kick in and hyzer out.  Still a stable disc but at 171g I could see this developing more turn with use (especially in this plastic - which was a medium firm star plastic) I may not rip this in a headwind if you dont want the disc to move a little right (RHBH).

Overall I am pairing an Orion LS with an Orion LF in sirius and OLF in Quantum.  They pair really well.  Its a great disc.

This is my go to driver when I need something to go left and great in the wind.  I love the sirius plastic.  Great grip and feels good in the hand. You can throw it out straight and feel confident it will finish left.
