The MVP Switch fairway driver is described as stable-understable, and is the third mold in the slower Resistor/Servo Class. The Switch is like a cross between the mid-range Tangent and the AMP, and is said to be the best driver for new players with low power. The Switch is an accurate disc with a lot of glide and shot shaping options. This is an excellent disc for golfers of all skill levels.

I recently purchased this disc in Neutron 173g. as my main driver. I am a true beginner with low power. This disc flies out of my hand! Seems to be a perfect disc for beginners if you like the feel and flight of MVP. No regrets purchasing the Switch!

Great flippy disc, beginner friendly. Can rip on hyzer and know it will flip over still for long anhyzers or can power down and know it will hold the line to get out of trouble. Not great for sidearm unless you need a lot of flip and throwing standstill.

    This disc is sneaky long.

For weaker players, the Switch is perfect to extend your driving distance and work on form.

As you begin to overpower the Switch, you can work on hyzer releases and you will find the disc has a lot of versatility.

The most interesting thing for me with the Switch, is the final fade finish it very reliable. If you give it enough height on the throw, even if the turn is quite exaggerated... it will always come back.

I would strongly recommend carrying a clash or crave for your workhorse and then adding the switch for when you need something a little more flippy for a given scenario.

I currently bag this disc for any 270 - 350 ft. shot that I need a good amount of turn and little to no fade at the end, and tunnel shots. When it does fade it is not much, mostly just falling straight forward. I would say it is a great disc for all skill levels with each having a different use for it.

This is my go-to disc for anything straight and mid-range.  Yes it does fade, but it fades late and weak.  It does not require much power to get it going, and it will glide seemingly forever.  This is a good disc for accuracy if you're a more experienced player, and a pretty good driver for beginners.  After being a diehard Buzzz thrower for three years, I'm now using the Switch for almost everything but drives and putts.  No regrets.

I picked up a 175g Neutron Switch just for fun - I wanted to have a disc a little more stable than a Relay for hyzerflips. I have only thrown this a handful of times so I'm speaking on limited field work - It flew for me 7/5/-2.5/1.5 - its fairly easy to turn over but doesn't flip crazy hard, takes Hyzer Flips well but has low speed fade that allows that anny to pan out or to fade back if thrown soft or at certain angles - I read reviews of this being fairly stable and dumping off hard so I was hesitant to get one, but I saw the perfect match at a course pro shop so decided why not try it - glad I did, its still Understable but controllably - has some fade in the end but helps with throwing a nice Anhyzer that flattens so it doesn't end on an edge. I like it, but only tossed it about 10-15 times so I will update this review after more course experience :)

**Update: This disc is quite flippy in ANY wind (unless direct Tail) but thats ok, it is an understable fairway disc, but the numbers saying -1.5/1 I would disagree with - for me it was closest to 7/5/-3/1.25   I think MVP page says its a speed 6.5 but flies pretty darn far and fast and I could see it being rated as high as a speed 8 honestly -

If you like Flippy discs that can create some unique lines this is a cool disc, It's not useless flippy, just flips on command - great for deep hyzerflips or late turns.  Or Rollers.  Forehand=turn and burn tho

The way I like to describe this is disc is like a longer buzzz. Cuts through the air like all the MVP disc do and a very flat disc which is great for little touch forehands or a really straight wooded backhand tee shot awesome disc would recommend for all skill levels.

I love this disc for carving the woods. It's late forward fade as threaded me through some nice lines in the woods.

Out in a field this disc can be sneaky long and surprise you.

Rim size is good for begginers and smaller hands. Well rounded disc for lower power players.

This is a nice straight flying disc for me. This is one of those discs that is fun to use and one that I have used to play even a single disc round.

I owned both a 159g and a 164g Neutron Switch.  Both of these are very good fairway drivers and I highly recommend them.  When I first started using the 159g disc it was pretty much a straight flyer and as my power increased I had to hyzer flip this disc.  At that time I purchased the 164g disc I had the same experience.  As my power increased I started having a hard time controlling the discs and they wanted to turn more than I wanted them too.  I did use both of these discs a bit and I believe they broke in pretty quickly.  My form is something I am always been working on and it could be me but after trying out the Innova TL and Leopard3 I finally settled on this pair for my fairway driver needs as I really like the Star plastic.  Had I not went this route I would have purchased a heavier Switch.  These fairway driver do fly far for a speed 6 driver compared to most drivers in this range IMO.

    Not For Me

The Switch was, for me, the absolute least consistent disc that MVP has released. They say it's straight to understable, but I could never seem to get the same flight path out of it. When I tried a hyzer flip, it spiked out for me. Thrown flat, it would turn over almost too much to be usable. Forehand was the best I could do...straight flight with minimal fade. I don't know if I got a weird disc or I just suck at disc golf, but I wouldn't recommend the Switch.

The Switch is a very particular disc. When thrown flat, I get an straight flight path and an overstable finish (6,4,0,2). When giving it just the right amount of anhyzer tilt on it, it will turn and keep that direction with almost no fade (6,5,-2,0.5). Can be unforgiving if thrown incorrectly. This disc will do what you tell it, just make sure your message is clear.

The Switch was given to me in a trade, and I was actually very surprised with the flight path. The switch is most definietly more overstable in the end of flight then the raiting would lead you to beleive. Ultimately the disc throws pretty straight with not much effort but has a huge fade in the end of flight. Sometimes useful for getting around a long shot with a hook around a corner towards the end of flight. This disc throws similar to the Crave but with more fade at the end.

This disc did not fit my throwing style, but that's no reason to knock it since I'm sure it'd be great for someone.  I was looking for something a little longer than my Innova Leopard for controllable fairway shots.  Based off this site's numbers, I thought it might throw nicely for me the way my Leopard and River do, but my feeling is that this disc is at least a speed 7, if not 8-9, and it takes a pretty hard crank on a hyzer to get it to flip up and sail straight.

Perhaps a lighter version (170-172) would go a little smoother for me, but I'll be looking to get rid of my 175g Switch.  It flies much like my Big Z Mantis, and I've heard that MVP discs are generally more stable than expected, which definitely rang true with my Switch.

Other info: I'm RHBH, I throw 350-400 max on a good day.

I flicked on my switch and a light went on. This is the first disc  I can throw forehand. I'm very happy with it.

My Switch is Copper, 175 grams. Disc feels great, as usual with MVP. My overall impressions are that this is a good disc and it has great potential, but I haven't gotten it dialed in yet. I keep expecting it to be less stable than it is. Should break in nicely, though. For backhand throws, this disc will hold an anhyzer angle and even turn into a roller given the right release point. For flat throws, it stays straight for a good amount of the flight and then starts slowly fading left. I've had a couple nice hyzer-flips, but my hyzer throws with this usually end up staying on the hyzer line all the way. Not sure if this copper color makes the disc more stable or if it's the max weight. Also, the copper seems to be slightly more gummy than other MVP discs I have. I don't throw this disc sidearm much, because it will turn too much. The only time I'll need to throw this disc sidearm is when I need a get out of trouble right to left sidearm shot. For beginners without a decent sidearm, they could see great flights with the Switch.
