MVP says: “The Tesla’s responsive design balances a subtle turn and reliable fade, while a pronounced glide and forward finish gain extra distance. The Tesla extends high power or headwind lines and has plenty of bite to fade back reliably and reduce lateral drift. The Tesla can be considered the big brother to our acclaimed Volt fairway driver. Choose the Tesla for long-range pinpoint accuracy.”

Everyone keeps saying this disc is so much more overstable than the numbers would suggest, but I genuinely do not agree with that statement. While it doesn't have a lot of turn, it doesn't have the massive dump that everyone keeps saying it has either. When I release this disc flat, it holds a baby turn for about half the flight, before it gets a reliable pushing fade forwards towards the last 20% of its flight. Very reliable, comfortable and goes very far. It can rivals my distance drivers at times, reaching a maximum of 400ft for me (but I generally average around 350-375 ft with this disc). For intermediate throwers this is a great pushing disc when thrown flat with a lot of power and newer players will get something reliably overtstable, ala the firebird for more experienced players.

I bought this disc very early into my disc golf journey. That was a mistake - this is NOT beginner friendly. I have never thrown a disc that is more sensitive to nose angle. if you throw nose up it will hook hard and go nowhere. I am at a point now where I throw more consistently though and I am liking this disc. I trust this in the wind. It flies straight with a consistent fade, and is great for longer pushing hyzer shots. I will add, it is still VERY sensitive to release angle. But when you get it right, it flys great and far for a "9" speed. I now bag this in replacement of a raptor - but its definitely low on the totem pole for likely to be replaced.

This disc is very reliable in the wind but is signifcantly more stable than the numbers would suggest. Feels incredible in the hand and is great for both backhand and forehand.

Recently purchased the tesla in proton plastic and I am LOVING this disc for forehands. Its a nice compliment to my servo if I need a little more distance. I was expecting something that flew more like my Undertaker or Lots, but it flies closer to my big jerm thunderbird. Maybe a touch more stability and a little less glide. Somewhere between my eagle and my thundy. If I need a nice smooth straight forehand with a reliable finish to the right (right handed) then I reach for tesla.

It's a great disc. Defintely way more stable in the proton plastic. I would say it's a great introductory/first step into higher speed drivers for beginners. It has a very reliable fade finish and once it beats in it will hold some turn before still finishing with a strong fade. I can see for higher arm speed players how this disc would be a work horse for any shot you need.

I bought my Tesla used 5 years ago so it is very very beat in, that being said for me this disc is an absolute laser beam and for sidearm it is very easy to get distance with.

I don't know what it is, but the Tesla is the only thing I (drive) throw sidearm. Seriously, I really don't like throwing anything else forehand. I have 2 Teslas, one is a beat in 172g in Proton plastic that is now pretty straight, especially handling a little forehand anny to stay on its line. One of my favorite discs. My 172g in Neutron plastic has more of a fade - probably bc it's newer - but I can really rely on it to skip when I keep it low to the ground on a ripped forehand.

Anyway, it might be the gyro rim, or just the feel, but this is my go-to for forehand drives, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Great disc.

    Great disc!

I started playing this winter and had issues trying to forehand a disc. That all changed when I received my first Tesla (proton plastic). I lost it and picked up another one in plasma at 172g.

When driving off the tee - backhand or forehand this disc will turn slightly while on a beautiful glide and then finish off with just the right fade at the end, not a dump or hard hook. It even has a nice skip pop-up if that'll as an extra 20' to your drive in leafy conditions

The durability of this disc is an added insurance when I use this disc to get me out of woods trouble and back on the fairway. I can usually muscle my way through briars and vines.

All in all great disc not sure why I don't see more people throwing them. This was enough to convince me to explore MVP disc more.

    Such a great disc!

I had been playing for nearly two years before picking one of these up, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. Goes exactly where I want. Decently stable disc, and very tough plastic.

I bag 2 Teslas in Proton plastic (1 lightweight and 1 heavier) and 1 in Neutron plastic. They're staples in my bag.

As a LHFH/BH player, the Proton Tesla is probably my favorite disc to throw sidearm. The plastic is kind of malleable in the middle of the disc, but the overmold rim gives me some stability in my grip. I throw the lighter one if I want something skippy and the heavier one when I need big distance and stop.

I'll also throw these BH, but not a ton. Mostly for short hyzers around 300 feet. All in all, the Tesla is my favorite MVP disc. I've tried a few others and haven't latched on to many, but I wouldn't be able to play my game without a Tesla (or a few of them!).

I've struggled to figure out which slot the Tesla fits in my bag. It turns over pretty well for me and then fights back, but that leads to wide s-curve lines that make it less than ideal for tighter fairways. I know this is an iconic MVP disc, but I think they make a lot better stuff than this one.

I've had 2 Tesla's (because I lost the first one). 155g proton and a 172g proton. As with the other MVP discs that I have, they all fly pretty straight at first and do their thing later in flight. My 155g Proton flew about like my 172g Proton Inertia, which is to say very straight with a little fade at the end (maybe a little less turn than the Inertia). My 172g Tesla is pretty overstable. It flies straight for a little while but hooks up and fades at the end. It handles wind very well, the flight in wind isn't much different than without. MVP discs in my opinion do have some effect (GYRO?) that causes them to fly more consistently in wind or not than the other discs that I own. I use it primarily for forehand shots, but I do use it on occasion for backhand. It is more overstable in Proton plastic than the listed stability. All the MVP discs that I own (except putters) feel very similar, they're fairly flat topped with a thin profile. Excellent feel for forehand shots.

The Tesla is great for players trying to develop a distance game. I personally like the smaller rim because my hand fits around it better. To me, this disc is just like a wraith thats a touch less stable and the fade is a lot more mellow.

As stated this just like a bigger Volt. It will fly about the same but with more fade at the end and will require a bit more power.

I have one in 175 g and don't quite have the power for it to reach it's full potential. But it still gives me a nice line with good bite at the ends when I need it.

With a head wind this thing will flex and sail adding some nice distance.

One of my most thrown drivers. This is like the Fireball's baby brother--not as much speed or fade. I typically only throw it forehand, cause it's so resistant to turnover. Thrown flat, it'll go super straight with a good strong fade. Give it some anhyzer, and it'll always snap out of it, perfect for those tight flex shots.

I am a RHFH thrower and this Tesla is the best disc I own to date for forearm. I have a strong arm and this tesla is hard to turn over into a roller. It seems to always fade back no matter how hard I throw it. If you are a beginner forearm thrower I would highly recommend this disc. I have only been playing disc golf a year and as a teenager I can consistanly forearm this disc about 425-450ft.
