The D1 was the most overstable in the distance driver "D" line for Prodigy. The D1 MAX is a retooled edition made for even better, reliable distance performance. It features a slightly smaller rim and a smooth profile on top. The D1 Max will be produced alongside the popular D1 and is a must for power throwers and windy days.

This disc is a great flying disc that BOMBS! That 400 plastic is slightly tacky like a unique star/fusion/tournament plastic. Its I bit different and worth feeling.

The only reason I dropped a star is because I don't like how thin the depth is because it can slip out out when powering up. Some people could LOVE that though.

My favorite 12 speed ever. Very controllable distance. Reliable. Not that OS, so you can cut most any shot with it. And it's very comfortable to hold. D1 max you complete me.

For me, this goes where I throw it and fades when it slows down. This will turn over for you but not with any manufuctured turn. It just holds the release angle and flies really fast. It's forgiving of mild release angle- it wants to fly flat. But if you put some english on it on purpose, it will read your mind well. Because it's so workable, it's less resistant to headwind than you might expect- so put a little more hyzer on it in that scenario. Or use the good ole D1.

I'll definitely be checking out the D2 and D3 max because of this one. I will be surprised, though, if I like either of them better than this d1MAX.

I absolutely love this disc coupled with the plastic! If your throwing in a head or tail wind you will love throwing this disc. It will fly straight right out of your hand and glide for as far as you could throw it with a hard finish left. It is one of my most thrown discs in my bag for windy situations..

I have a slow speed arm but I use this for windy day for headwind, turn over shot, flex, forehand roller, need extra distance for skip shot.

I know this probably scare most of rec/int players away but d1max is totally worth to have one in anyone bag!!!

The D1 Max is my favorite all time distance driver.  Reaching max distance around 500ft. It has the perfect stability to always have a predictable finish and can handle a pretty fair amount of head wind.

So I received a Prodigy D1 and D2 Max. As you can probably guess, the Cale Leviska D1 Max was kind of over stable. I think that’s why Cale put his name on it as I can see most of their pros using the D1 max. But I spent most of my time testing the D2 max as this is going to be the version that most people can throw. This disc had great distance was able to hold some wind and flew really far. I will say that the max versions obviously go further than the stated D1-D4 and doesn’t compromise the stability ranges for those discs. They also seem to make it in a slightly more friendly feeling plastic which I also think people will like. So if you’re looking for a new distance driver try one of the D1 through D3 max’s as they will maximize your distance.

For me, this is a destroyer with more turn. It is still a good disc on windy days but will get a better long distance S shape out of your throw. I don't throw incredibly far (380ish average) and wouldn't consider this too much disc for me.

*disclaimer* I got this disc from a friend so I can't speak to how it is right out of the box.

This is a review from a tomahawker/thumber player so I can only give my point of a view.  This disc definitely works as a tommy & thumber but maybe not as long as my Enforcer or Stiletto or Firebird tosses but nice.  It has a tight barrel roll at the end like an old school Aerobie disc.  I couldn't get it to come down sweeping to get the huge skip like I can from my other super overstable discs but respectable.  It has a pretty wide rim but was able to get it in both the tommy and thumber holds with ease and my fingers aren't extraordinarily long.  Flew it roughly 300 - 325 in the air.

It's a D1, so it's still going to be Overstable, but it won't be rediculously OS like the previous run. It's a nice compliment to the D1, with more glide and a reliable, headwind flight.
