The Ascend is an understable fairway driver that is designed for all players, regardless of skill level. This mold provides easy-to-throw straight shots.  The glide will help get the disc to fly further and provide good distance for a fairway driver. An advanced player will be able to shape a lot of shots from a hyzer angle.

I was lacking in fairway drivers so I thought I'd give the Ascend a try. Glad I did! It's an amazingly comfortable disc to throw and it feels great in my hand. Neutron plastic is superb with great grip and the rim is super smooth all around. I love the nice bright red color, I can spot it a mile away! It's rare to find Streamline discs below 170g so I feel lucky to have gotten one at 166g. This disc flies super straight with a short fade at the end. It also does really nice anhyzers. I would say it's fairly neutral as far as dome goes, not super flat but not domey either. It has pretty good glide but not so much that you're losing control. It has a dependable flight and I'm getting consistently good releases. I also find that it pretty much sits where it lands, with minimal skip. The Ascend has become my new favourite for tunnel shots or shorter fairway drives. I also found it to be excellent for side arm as well! The rim feels just right for that. I would rate it as a -2 turn, it flies way too straight for a -3. It's like a faster Origin.

I was expecting this disc to be more stable based on reviews and discussion I had read about it, but the truth is my Ascend is pretty close to the numbers given by Streamline. Maybe slightly more stable, but not much. Thrown on hyzer with moderate power, this disc will flip up and ride right  (rhbh) and comes back a bit at the very end. Thrown flat it gives me a pretty big turning flight all the way, but it isn't prone to cut rolls, which I appreciate. It's glide is good, and it has great distance potential when you've got a nice tail wind helping you out.

I picked this up used hoping it would be close to what I can do with the axiom paradox (hyzer flip to turnover for those casual right turn shots) but it ended up being much more overstable than the numbers suggest. For comparison, I have a doomsday discs pestilence (13,5,-4,1) that manages to get more turn with the same throwing speed I throw this at. Maybe if you really ripped on it it could turn over but for now it seems like this disc just loves to sit in neutral, not wanting to turn over. Not a bad disc, just not what I wanted for this slot.

Flippy right out of the box. Straight flight. Nice forward finish. After 2 rounds, it is definitely more stable than the numbers suggest, at least in neutron plastic. Good beginner fairway, intermediate hyzer flipper, or powerhouse roller.

Initial impressions, while still new, of a Special Edition Ascend (with the lady stamp on it) :

I bought this to replace my Wombat3 and a severely beat-in dx-Leopard, for drives with anhyzer lines.

But this thing does NOT hold an anhyzer at all.  It will fight out of it really hard, just as an 0 2 would do.

I've thrown it half a dozen rounds now, and it's still like that.  2/3 into the flight, it fights out of it and fades more than it should.

Thrown flat, it maintains it's level, does a slight very mild turn, and a then a good fade.

Hopefully over time, it's intended flight numbers will start to reveal themselves.  But for now, it's acting more like a brand new Leopard.

It does get respectable distance/glide though.  So it's not a bad disc.  Knowing the numbers printed on it, I'm getting confused as to what I'm supposed to use it for.  Hopefully with time...

If you're looking for a better Leopard, this might be it. (again, it's new, so this could change).  It doesn't shoot up in altitude as the Leopard and some other discs do when thrown faster.  Which I really like.

I really like the Ascend for the understable tweener slot. Feels like a faster mid or slower fairway. It is super comfortable. Its a hyzer flip machine with just a smidge of fade at the end. If given enough height and angle you can get really nice long sweeping turnover drives with it. Its not as flippy as something like the Signal, but it still flips. The Neutron plastic also holds up really well. I have accidentally thrown it into a parking lot a few times and so far nothing more than a few small nicks. If thrown with 30-40% power for me it exhibits just the smallest amount of turn before straightening out and landing softly back towards the center.

Flies exactly like the numbers suggest. I max out at about 370' of distance and I get controllable turn out of this disc. It will not turn and burn even with a little bit of anhyzer angle. I think streamline (MVP) has really nailed this disc and will be a stable in the bag for many folks. I really like it. Less stable than Streamline Drift and Infinite Centurion.

Got 173 SE and 172 neutron.  Was waiting some time for Streamline fairway with these numbers as I heavily use the MVP Signal.  Not saying my form is perfect, but the Signal with similar numbers is really controllable and amazing in the woods... can control the turn by the stank put on it.

Both of these new Ascends, however, are way more stable than the numbers advertise.  I'm looking forward to breaking them in, but they ARE glidy, and they are VERY straight.  They always forward-fade.  If I put a bit of anhyzer on it, they will straighten out every time before it hits, does not yet carry a turn, so I don't think these current ones I have will be better than the Signal for rollers.

TLDR:  not as flippy as the numbers lead you to believe.  Great for low powered forehands and straight tunnel shots in the woods.  Not very flippy and flies more like a VERY easy to throw Crave instead of something similar to a Signal.

Mostly forehand dominant player - was looking for something to backhand that would easily Hyzer flip and go straight. This disc flies amazing and flips up perfectly.

Would recommend to anyone who has a slower backhand and looking for an easy Hyzer flip on any Hole 300 feet or less. Plastic also feels like a dream, like a better version of Star.Streamline has been killing the game recently!

Throwing Neutron plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.

This disc is a hoot to throw around. It is pretty easy to throw, The rim is comfortable grip for forehand and backhand. And as always, the Neutron offers an excellent tacky feel to it.

The flight of this disc is pretty accurate to the flight chart. I've enjoyed throwing this flat and seeing an easy "S" curve flight. I've also had some great success throwing it on an anhyzer line. Hyzer flips are fairly easy with this disc as well. I have yet to throw a roller with it, though I imagine it would work fairly well as a turnover roller.

Overall, this is a pretty good disc, and it is fun to throw around. I would definitely recommend this mold to any beginner, and to anyone that needs a dependable understable fairway driver.
