The Vibram Notch is a massively overstable fairway driver. Vibram describes the Notch like this,

"It can handle tons of power, laughs at winds, and still gives a good amount of glide. A comfortable grip provides a consistent release making this one of our most reliable discs. The Notch is the disc with a strong flight and heavy fade you crave. Take the O-Lace and Solace, marry them, and give them a small winged child - that's the Notch."

For the life of me I can't figure out this disc. The plastic doesn't feel grippy at all and its got a pretty decent dome. Combine that with extreme overstability and it ends up being quite a difficult disc to throw. It might be usable as a thumber/overhead disc?

I was not impressed with the Vibram Notch. I always like to try Vibram's discs that are advertised as overstable, because I have always been unimpressed with Vibram's performance in the wind. I am trying so hard to find one that is going to perform well in the wind, and I found another one that just doesn't do it.

Feel in the hand: I do actually like the mold of the Notch. The X-Link plastic felt great on the chilly winter day that I tested this disc. The fairway driver style is comfortable in the hand, and it fit into my hand nicely

Flight: To me, the Notch is like an FL or an awesome Thunderbird. Slightly faster than a Teebird, with a decent fade at the end. This is nothing to call overstable, by any means. When I picked up the Notch for a forehand throw, it was straight and slightly understable. The Notch definitely did not perform well in the wind.

Overall: The notch was disappointing to me. I will continue to put my faith in Vibram's "overstable" discs, but I contineu to believe that if they want their discs to perform in Oklahoma winds, they are going to need to use a normal, non-rubber plastic type

all my reviews are subjective to arm speed, I throw max distance as 360' with an average of 330-350, thrown rhbh.

I picked this disc up on a whim, just because I like the arch so much and was looking for a more os fairway in the 7-8 speed range.

Wasn't that meathook it was touted as.  I have a xxx and it is not anywhere near as beefy.   that doesnt mean it hasnt performed in its duties i ask of it.  Thumbers, 'hawks... flicks get out of silly lies....you get the idea.

this is just slightly more os than the arch.  I put this and the arch out to 340'ish where the arch flies like the flight pattern on back, this just goes straight and dumps off like an eagle would.  or a slower culverin/fresh saint pro for those that toss trilogy (some might say a domey Recycled spark).  word of caution, if it hits any branches it will just drop out of the sky and land close to what it hit.

flicks, it has too much dome for my liking and I can't seem to get a nice clean release.

was really hoping for a smaller winged solace.  it is not that close in stability and too deep to really be compared to the solace.

overall... not bad and would recommend it to those that like to throw hard.

I chose this to be my driver for the 2016 iteration of the Vibram Birdie Bash, and found it to be pretty good...I would call it 'Vibram Overstable" in that meets the technical definition of an overstable disc, but isn't anything to write home about. I threw the Vibram Ascent for close to two years, and the Notch is designed as a more overstable version of that sadly-discontinued disc. While I found the Firm Notch to have less glide than the Ascent, it was indeed a bit more overstable.

A fun disc for sidearms and overhands, it also does the typical 'straight to fade' quite well. It's not a great replacement for the Ascent, nor is it overstable enough to be a true utility disc, but for Vibram fans I'm sure it will be popular.
