The oLace is Vibrams answer for players looking for an overstable distance driver good for sidearm and overhand throws. The oLace should be more consistent than the regular Lace, and better in windy conditions. It has similar dimensions with a slightly thinner rim and slimmer profile.

Man I'm going to miss this company... this is possibly the best straight flying S-curve distance driver on the market for an intermediate player. The amount of spin that you get on this disc is absolutely unfair. The grip of the rubber allows you to sink in so much control that you simply cannot mimic with any other brand. However, that does mean that you need to be careful with not turning it over, but from my experience this is rare unless I over-rotate because the 3 fade is very true. If you see other reviews having the turn higher than a 1 it is because they are putting so much spin on the disc because of how grippy the rubber is. My favorite part of this disc is how it wears in. The rubber just gets better with age. Honestly this thing is so durable you can leave it in the rain and heat for a few days and come back to it and it might actually be able to be thrown harder.

Here's how I use this disc:

Early in my round, if you haven't already figured it out, I start out throwing my Westside Sorcerer. This is because my hands are dry (I live in the south with a lot of humidity) and I can still get a solid consistent grip and put controlled nose down spin on the disc and get sick distance out of it.

Once I get to the back 9, I switch to the O-Lace to take advantage of the grip with wet hands. The disc is very similar in so many ways. I get the same flight, which is right in my wheel house where I can absolutely consistently crank this thing out there.

The O-Lace is a pretty okay disc. In 2014, I played the Vibram Birdie Bash for the second time. The course we were intending to play on is usually windy, so I ordered a firm O-Lace as my disc of choice. Sure enough, it was fairly windy that day. Here in Utah, we have had a windy birdie bash 2 years in a row, and Vibram is known for being absolutely horrible in the wind.

I was the only one that ordered an O-Lace, and I clearly struggled the least in the wind because I won the Birdie Bash! This does NOT mean that the O-Lace is good in the wind, unfortunately. There are a few holes where we would have to throw pretty hard to try to reach the hole, and 3 times during the tournament I turned over the O-Lace into the ground as if it were an understable disc. What?! I also hit the basket on the CTP for the ace pot and took it down with the O-Lace.

To me, the O-Lace is what the Lace should have been. If you get lucky the O-Lace will be slightly overstable and MAY hold up in the wind. This is one of the best discs that vibram makes, and unfortunately as it's supposed to be a wind fighter, it just isn't.

Perfect disc.  I love Vibram discs probably because of the material.  The rim is nice, the flight is nice... the rating changed from 13 4 0 4 to what you see today because they break into the rating shown; perhaps the newer ones are different than what I purchased a couple years ago.  Solid driver; must have.

To begin with I'll qualify this review by saying that I am a 80% forehand or "flick" thrower. I have a pretty good arm and can hit 360-380 regularly and sometimes clear 400 ft. with my current discs and in winter conditions. I've used the OLace quite a bit as I loved the Lace until it would break in and get too flippy. So far it is a fantastic disc as long as there is no wind. Once in the wind it gets very flippy and stalls out quite a bit even on good shots. It has been great for the 350-370 range so far. As other reviews have noted it will certainly break out of the turn after about 250 unless you get some really good snap on it. It is similar to a Destroyer but with more glide. I have been able to break 400ft with it in the winter, which is impressive to me. My Lace threw best in warmer conditions so I'm excited to see how this bad boy performs in the summer.
