The Virgo putt and approach disc by XCom has a more aerodynamic rim than most putters, making it a slightly faster option with a shallow rim. It's something like a putter / midrange crossover disc that is stable enough to hold the line and finish with a slight fade.

My Flight Ratings: 4/5/-2/0 Very Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

I field tested the Virgo together with its siblings the Aqu, Eden, Griffin & Dawn and several other discs with 5 or 4 ratings in Speed and/or Glide, and with what I thought would be reasonably close Turn/Fade numbers; however, I found that the Aqu and Virgo were virtually reversed in stability versus their listed numbers: The 0/2 Turn/Fade Virgo always had noticeably more Turn than other discs with a -1 Turn, and didn't tend to fade back as much as others with a 1 or 2 Fade; conversely, the -2/0 Turn/Fade Aqu consistently ended up flying/fading further left (RHBH) than the rest of the stable-to-understable mids I was using. Even with tailwinds when other understable discs would stay straight or start to fade out more quickly, the Virgo still found a way to keep veering to the right. With a headwind, it needed some significant hyzer to keep it from flipping over and hitting the turf. It proved less stable than my -2/1 Shu, but not quite as understable as the -2.5/0 Griffin.

The Virgo feels remarkably good in the hand -- better than its midrange siblings, at least -- and it releases cleanly for me. I do wish it wasn't as understable as it is, because I don't typically need a mid to flip over so much for me; however, this might make it a really good midrange option for beginners. I really like the look and feel of the Mars plastic. I just got my first few discs in this grade and only just started field testing them, so I can't say yet how durable it may prove to be. I have found so far that each of these Mars-plastic discs has a bit of flashing on the underside of the inner rim, but it's not too bad and you can find segments without it, too, if concerned about the feel and release. (After a couple hours of field testing, I think most of the flashing has already worn off, in fact.) I think players of every skill level would find it pretty easy to use effectively, though for power throwers it might be too understable -- although it could prove itself as a roller option, too.
