174 gram Plasma Proxy. Great straight approach disc. I prefer Fission, Neutron, or Proton plastic to Plasma but that is just my personal preference. The Plasma can be slightly harder to grip when wet. But it still seems pretty durable. I love the Proxy for short approach shots. For me, it flies straight and accurate when thrown at up to about 40-50% power. Thrown harder, it is great for getting left to right. The Envy + Proxy combination in addition to a Zone or another overstable approach disc covers almost any shot within 200 feet of the basket. As much as I like the Proxy, I would avoid getting one in Electron plastic unless you plan to putt with it or want it to beat in very quickly to a disc that turns right no matter what. I love its natural flight right off the shelf and hope mine wears slowly to preserve its flight characteristics for as long as possible.

The plasma proxy is my go-to disc for straight approaches. Thrown flat it flies straight with a light fade at the end. Easy to use as a first approach disc where you need something reliable to get near your target.

Proxy is extremely straight in no wind or a slight tailwind. I bought this thinking it would be like a straighter Envy, but the feel just isn't the same. The Proxy feels a bit taller and rim sharper than the Envy. It's weird for me to grip. I've tried fan, modified fan, and power grip and just couldn't get comfortable due to the height. I like shallower putters, but that's just personal preference. This is still a good disc for those who are looking for something lazer beam straight.

This disc has been with me through everything. I got my first proxy early on in my disc golf career.  I have always loved how it felt in my hand.  It's shallow and flat.

For putting: This was not my first putter, but it was my first putter I chose not because someone told me it was great, but because I liked how it felt in my hand. When was just learning how to putt, it gave me a good baseline for how a straight putter should go.  When I switched to push putting, I stopped using it, as I never felt I understood how much glide I was going to get with it.  Recently I've started incorporating spin putting back into my game for C2 or longer putts, and I've started using the Proxy again.  I really do like how this putter works for spin putts.  It will force you to recognize inconsistencies with your form, as if I release with a little anhyzer, it'll hold it all the way there.  As you build consistency, you'll find that it's a very straight putter, only fading at the very end of it's flight.

For throwing: Back when driving 200' was a good max drive, I didn't understand how people could say that this disc was laser straight.  But as I learned how to play, I learned to love throwing this disc off the tee.  When I was able to throw a putter 225', that's when I learned what people meant.  At lower power (not a new player, but not a power thrower) this disc is arrow straight with no fade.  And I mean no fade at all.  This disc was so consistently great when I was a new player, it honestly shaped how I view the game and is a major reason why I carry so many putters in my bag today.  I also love to forehand this disc. With it's low profile, I find it's comfortable in my hand for flicks as well as drives.

As I'm now throwing putters about 300', I have some thoughts on different plastics for the Proxy.  I carry three in my bag.  I putt with a proton Proxy, and I throw a proton as well as a plasma.  Proton and neutron both beat in a bit more than the plasma, and as such the proton is slightly more overstable. Having thrown the proxy in all of the available plastics other than electron, proton and neutron fly basically the same.  Thrown flat, my proton proxy turns gently to the right and doesn't ever fade back left.  It doesn't turn and burn, but it is definitely going to the right.  My plasma proxy feels like how my proton ones felt back when I had less power: it's arrow straight with no fade at all.

Overall, absolutely great disc that I love to death.

Best upshot disc I've ever laid eyes on

This disc drives straight, glides forever and doesn't fade. That's all I can say. I will never upshot with any other disc. I also definitely recommend for straight and slight anhyzer putter drives. Absolutely irreplaceable in my bag. If I could keep only one of my discs this would be it.

This disc is STRAIGHT! Love it for tight lines in the fairway or wooded areas. I don't use it to putt, only for driving. I've only used the Plasma so far so I can only speak for that type.  I'm sure an Electron one is on it's way and I would be definitely give it a try.

    Certainly the case here

SO, I have to say, I've always been curious about MVP. I've only had one of their discs in my bag, and I really did not care for it whatsoever. Obviously, Axiom and MVP are more or less intertwined, so when I somehow forgot a putter for Monday doubles league I was lent an Axiom Proxy by one of my friends. This friend, by the way, is more or less notorious for using exclusively MVP/Axiom. He's a great golfer and a great guy, always helps out the new guys and does what he can to encourage you to come back after a bad round. I was never convinced by the discs, though, and was hoping someone had a spare Aviar bagged. It turns out my fears were misplaced. Do you ever have a round where you don't really have an opportunity to putt?

You know, you end up either scrambling or parking shots and seesawing between bogies and birdies. That was this round, so I ended up using this as an approach disc. This disc is LAZER straight. Seriously. Occasionally I'll imagine my own different speed, glide, turn and fade combinations, but I never imagined a low glide, slightly UNDERstable disc. It was a totally unique experience, and I actually enjoyed the overmold. I don't know how they would beat in, but that's probably for another time. The Proxy doesn't lose speed and fall faster and faster, it approached the ground almost on a line. For predictable approaches I'm not entirely sure you can ask for more. Important to note is how I didn't experience this disc in the wind or for many putts, but as an approach disc I was very impressed.

I really put some mustard on the disc a couple of throws and it fell the same exact way, only on a straight line. It's almost weird, but for someone chasing discs that don't have any personality (Not a bad thing) this is for you. I don't believe I would enjoy this disc as a putter, though. My putter is a 2/4/0/0, I enjoy a spin putt that more or less stays at the same level with a slight nose down entry. This is not how the Proxy rolls. I really needed to loft this thing to get anything resembling a similar flight/putt. I'm sure for those who are used to alternative ((?) That was the best word I could come up with) putters, I would recommend the Proxy in a heartbeat. Also funny how the Proxy ended up being my proxy.

PROS: An almost annoyingly reliable approach disc.

CONS: About as niche a putter as you can imagine.

Love this disc! My choice for an understable approach putter. I also use this when I'm spin putting. Point and shoot!.

Got my second every ace with this disc, and first using a putter. Great off the tees with little fade when thrown straight.

My eyes were opened when my brother sent me a link to a beautiful LIGHTweight veiny blue proxy with a green rim. I was throwing max weight Proxys thinking it couldn't get any better so I ridiculed him saying lightweight discs are for losers it'll never work.. I bought it. It is the most pure flying disc I've ever owned. I gave up throwing a forehand because a proxy turnover or Anhyzer is better and more majestic. Committing to throwing putters (Proxys) will teach a level of touch that most beginners lack I can't stress it enough. You will feel like James Conrad.

The more technical courses I play the more I use this disc! The plasma version isn’t as Stable as the neutron plastic but I’ve become to prefer it as I can use this disc for tight straight shots with a slight hyzer it’ll pop up and fly dead straight. Thrown flat with a touch of power and smooth release it’ll glide out and hit a late turn that’s predictable.

Ive had more near miss Aces with this disc than any other on those short open 280-320 foot holes. Literally I’ve hit the bottom of the basket more times with this disc than I want to think about. If I could only carry one disc idk if this it but it’s a top 3 consideration

I have this in Plasma for grippy approaches.

If I need an approach disc for a bit of wind, speed or hyzering, I pick an Envy. If I need something dead straight with a straight fade at low speeds, I pick the Proxy. Also really good for tight, short tee drives at medium power.

If I had to pick one putter to drive, approach and putt with it would be Proxy. Envy is the better driving putter hands down but Proxy is more consistent and predictable at lower speeds and shorter distances. I also find myself using the Proxy for shaping tiny distance approaches through trees more than the Envy due to its predictability, even at weird angles.

    Pros:
    Comfortable, flat and grippy
Minimal fade, even at low speeds
Point and shoot, great for beginners or veterans
    Cons:
Can't handle much distance controllably in windy conditions

This is the best approach disc I have ever thrown. I originally purchased an Electron Envy that I thought would fit this slot in my bag but I just never had great results with it. But then I bought a Plasma Proxy and found exactly what I was looking for. It will hold basically any approach line I put it on and then sit down softly when it lands. I don't really drive with putters all that much but if I need a shot from about 175 or in you can bet I'll be throwing my Plasma Proxy.

I came across the Proxy at the end of an exhaustive search through 50+ putter molds. It was tested towards the end due to personal distaste for the feel and perception of overmold discs. The quest was to find if any throwing putters stood apart from the rest. I was after a near neutral disc that can be used for a variety of golf lines. While the Proxy doesn't do anything that can't be done by other molds, it does many things very well.

The Proxy will fly straight with minimal fade when thrown 100 though 300'.

The Proxy will hold anny lines, even when thrown less than ideal with wobble.

The Proxy will flip to flat yet resist flipping over. Instead it gently drifts in the direction of the flip.

If thrown adequately, the Proxy will elevator straight down to finish a flight

If you are committed to throwing putters, this mold will help you develop into a better player. The Proxy is capable of awe inspiring shots with appropriate touch, and will help cover errors as you learn to develop that touch.

The most awesome thing about the Proxy is that it flies the same no matter how hard you throw it, it´s always flies and lands dead straight. It´s just an amazing disc, great of the tee and for both backhand and forehand approaches.
