Truly an underrated distance driver from the MVP family.

For reference, I throw mostly Destroyers, 400-425' depending on the day.  I'm fairly average stature, and do not have large hands by any means, but I find the 25mm rim to be quite comfortable.

Talking about the flight - this disc is a max-distance bomber.  Easily matched/exceeded distance I usually get out of my Destroyers, but much quicker and with less L/R play.  I don't see the -1.5 turn out of the flight, it mostly seems to hold on the line for a very long time before slowly fading out of it.  This will probably change over time, but as it stands now I feel more confident in a repeatable flight from this disc than I would with some of my flippier, max-distance Destroyers.

If you're looking to get a longer flight than your current 12-speeds, and keep it on a line, I'd give the Tantrum a try.

This thing bombs! It is less over-stable than the Excite in my experience but it is possible that the Excite's I have gotten have been anomolously stable. This is my go to disc for straight shots that go forever. On a full throw I get a bit of late turn and just a tiny bit more fade than turn at the very end.

For me this flies like a well beat in nuke with a little more distance.

I love the wide rim. I have trouble with my accuracy on narrow rimmed drivers. It has a noticeable turn when you initially release it and it very gradually comes out of the turn.

It flies like a faster Star Wraith, so if you get too much turn on it initially, it does not have the overstability to fight back out of it. I like to release it on a slight hyzer, have it flip up straight and then it just sails straight as an arrow for most of the flight with a slight fade at the end.

Very useful with power, has good turn but a strong fade. I found it to be like a Teleport but with a lot more fade. If you don't have the power to get it turned enough it will not be useful with the amount of fade.

I'm LHBH throwing 400' and up to 460' my Tantrum is 174g Neutron plastic.

The Tantrum is my max distance disc. Thrown flat it will demonstrate high levels of high speed turn and it will fade back given you throw it high enough. For me I like to throw it on slight hyzer and the Tantrum will flip up, hold for a very long time, and then fade back offering the maximum distance that I can achieve. I have gotten my Tantrum up to 470' in a slight tailwind, but can get it up to 450' and past 415' very consistently.

For beginners the Tantrum will offer more distance as well as for power throwers looking for a new max distance disc.

When I first started using this disc, I was unable to control it at high speeds. However throwing it now and also being more experienced, I have to say its very stable to flies straight 8/10 times I throw it, 2/10 usually involving wind. This disc has been in my bag for 1 month, I've owned 2 and I'm now buying 3rd one (lost the 2nd one). Since being in my bag, it has quickly reached the top of the ladder, and is now my favorite disc. I would not recommend this disc for beginners.

While I would only currently give this disc 3 stars, I need to start by saying, I LOVE this disc. For me, out of the box, it was a little more stable than I imagined. As I have played with it a little longer I have found it to be pretty trustworthy on most types of shots. If I put it on a hyzer, it will ride and try to push up to flat, but doesn't quite make it and then finishes at about 350-375ft. On a flat shot it will turn and glide for a bit which pushes the 400-425ft range. I hope to be able to do a little more field work with it to see if this becomes a staple.

I would say that anyone looking to get a few extra feet on their drives, and feel confident with maximum distance drivers, should pick one up for sure!

The Tantrum hasn't quite dethroned my other distance drivers (Shryke, Ballista Pro, Dimension) but it is still currently in my bag.

I love this disc. I have one with the amazing robot limited stamp that came out on release. It has become my go-to distance driver for long straight distance shots. I am imagining that when it becomes beat in it will be amazing for hyzerflip distance. It has a wide rim and may not be great for beginners, but more advanced players will love it.

This thing bombs.  I was very hesitant to pick one of these up as I thought there is no point in a faster disc than a Destroyer/Outlaw/Mayhem, etc - Well, I'm glad I decided to pick one up.  This flies exactly like a Mayhem ....but faster....and yeah, more distance.  I threw my furthest drives ever on several holes while still maintaining decent control.  For Innova throwers, it's like a nice Katana just more speed/distance/glide - not a ton, but more fo sho - For Discraft Throwers like a Crank thats way faster and way more glide - I would rate this 14/5/-2/2.5 -> based on 174g Neutron.  It WILL flip over and turn on an ape arm power throw, but on a normal throw it rides a nice S - I wouldn't say it's good for headwinds but it can certainly handle a little wind.  It's not flip city, its just a Big S shape.  I learned it and feel I can trust it....and sadly I haven't bagged the Mayhem since - but it REALLY depends on the course, it IS a fast disc, it does require Lateral movement - so if you're playing a tighter wooded course or shorter course its not really worth it to bag - but any holes 375+ or fairly open - you can really open up.  If you are familiar with Blue Ribbon Pines in MN I made it over the creek which is a feat for me - the creek is 450 ft. over the creek is about 460 ft - This was one of my furthest throws and I didn't give it 100% it was actually like 85% - This thing just cruises.  It's a lot of fun to throw as well.  If you are a 400 ft thrower this can make you 450.   I feel like if you can't get past 350 it may not be the best choice.  Recommend for Advanced / Open players - THROW A TANTRUM!!

I tried the Tantrum and had some mixed thoughts on it- first of all, it does fly very far. It has a really nice high speed turn with good fade at the end. It really does stretch all of the distance it can out of the S-flight that it takes.

However, my biggest problem with the disc was the thick rim mixed with the dome. Usually thick rims don't bother me too much, but this disc domes pretty fast, so the disc feels a bit harder to fully grip than a normal speed 13/14 disc. For some reason the dome just makes it feel bigger (probably because my thumb is higher up).

I'm not sure if every Tantrum is this domey, but I think it would be nice to try a flatter one. Either way, it bombs! I just feel I could have more accuracy with it if I could get a solid, comfortable handle on it.

The Tantrum is the first in the maximum rim width distance drivers from Axiom, so it is meant to be thrown at high speed. I am quite a fan of the MVP wide-rim drivers, the Teleport and the Relativity, so I was very interested to see where the Tantrum would fall in comparison to those. Where the Teleport is a bomber disc with reliable and consistent fade, the Relativity was understable with minimal fade (and also a serious bomber for distance). I was very pleased to find that the Tantrum seems to fall right between the two of those. I was able to consistently throw it further than the other two distance drivers that I was testing. Since I currently have a sore shoulder, I wasn't able to bomb it at maximum power, but even holding back a bit, I was able to get this thing to fly. Yes, it has end fade, but it is not overly dramatic unless thrown on a hyzer line.

I tried throwing the Tantrum with my underpowered forearm and was able to get it to fly really straight for longer distances than most drivers I've tried sidearm.

I wouldn't recommend this driver for beginners because it is a very high-speed driver. But if you've got your throwing technique worked out and want to power up to maximum speed, this is a relatively neutral disc to work with. I really like the Tantrum!

When I pulled out a 172g Axiom Tantrum for testing, a figured it was going to be and too much disc for me and would be way too overstable. I was wrong. While playing a round with some buddies, three times I threw the Tantrum as my second throw on a hole, you know, the one that doesn't count, and all three times the Tantrum outperformed my go to drivers.

The reality is that this disc just bombs. It has a pretty substantial dome and glides well, but isn't so overstable that someone with my arm speed throwing at elevation can't get excellent distance out of it. I found the Tantrum to be really similar to the MVP Catalyst. It's going to fade at the end of the flight, but you can get some nice turn that provides max distance.

If you throw Gyro and want a colorful disc to give you more distance, you'll want to try the Axiom Tantrum. If you don't throw double mold discs manufactured by MVP, but are also looking for more distance, you will also want to throw a Tantrum.
