I've always bagged multiple L64 Rivers in this slot, but as I cleaned up my form and got more distance only the most stable runs of Rivers did what I wanted them to; that being flip up a little bit but come back to where I was aiming in most wind conditions. When the new FD came out I tried it and it immediately made my bag. It felt familiar, flew the lines my Rivers flew when I had less power, and it handles a decent wind well.
In addition, the plastic changes the flight enough to warrant carrying multiple of this mold in different plastics.
S-Line goes into a relatively gentle turn over it's whole flight, and is an amazing woods disc. In S-Line, the FD flies exactly the same as my Rivers; but it has more torque resistance and can handle wind better than my Rivers. I'd rate it at 7, 6, -2, 0.5, but I don't bag these since I still prefer the River in this spot, likely for nostalgic reasons only.
C-Line goes dead strait. It flips up and turns a little bit before coming back to exactly where I was aiming. This is dead on the numbers of the innova made FD at 7, 6, -1, 1. I don't bag these either, since my entire bag is glow and these don't glow. That, and I'm working on beating in a Showstopper 2 to fit this slot right now. Speaking of Showstopper 2's....
Horizon Glow C-Line (Ella Hanson Showstopper 2) flips up a little bit but fades slightly left of where I was aiming. This is a new add to my bag, but out of the box it's flying at what I would say is a 7, 6, -0.5, 1. Right now I bag one of these, but as they season into the 7, 6, -1, 1 slot mentioned above I'll possibly bag 2 of this run to cycle them.
Glow C-Line (the pirate stamped ones OTB used to have, as well as the Gannon Burr edition) kicked one of my explorers out of my bag because it held the same lines, but the extra glide made it carry further than even my longest explorer. There's a little "dimple" in the shoulder of these discs, and I'm convinced that's what makes it this overstable for an FD. I'd rate these two runs at 7, 6, 0, 2. I bag one of these, and don't see this being replaced by an Explorer at any point in the future because I think it's that amazing of a run.
Similar to the second run of the Innova made FD's, the second run C-Line are also as stable as the glow C-Lines I mention above, and have the same "dimple" in the shoulder of the disc; but they also have a parting line height that's between 1-2 mm taller than any other run of the new FD that I have ever seen. Outside of the dimples and the decently taller PLH, it's hard to find the hallmarks of these second run FD's; I just know mine are second run because I bought them shortly after they finished running the "First run" stamped FD's. I don't bag these because I bag the regular C-Line glow run above, as it flies the same but glows.
If you need a fairway driver mold that can handle all but the most overstable flights, I can't recommend new FDs enough. They are amazing and before the FD I wasn't at all a fan of Discmania's discs, and now they're a staple in my game and I couldn't go back to what I used to throw in these slots
