The legendary MD3 by Discmania is a workhorse mid-range disc that has become an icon in the Discmania lineup. Loved by beginners and pros alike, the MD3 offers reliability, control, and versatility. With a balanced flight and predictable fade, this disc delivers precise shots and confident finishes. Its durable plastic ensures consistent performance, making it a must-have for disc golfers at any skill level.

Note: The Innova made MD3 and Discmania made MD3 feel and fly nearly identical. Some of the flight numbers on the Innova made MD3 are 5 5 0 3 or 5 5 0 2, but even those runs don't fly significantly different than the newer Swedish made ones. Discmania's Chroma plastic is extremely durable and will catch your eye with its pearlescent appearance. The color effect is similar to a chameleon or glimmer effect, as the colors will shimmer and slightly change in the sun.

The MD3 is another one of the greatest mids ever made, alongside the MD1. It compliments the MD1 beautifully seeing as it's a little bit more stable without going in to overstable territory per se. This disc is one of my favourites and go to's in tight wooded environments. I very often put this on a flat or very slight anny angle to make it drift very slowly to the right (RHBH), but it always finds it's way back with a little bit of extremely reliable stability right at the end, causing it to essentially land flat exactly where I envisioned. I'd recommend this to anyone, and if you haven't tried it, you're missing out! The two MD3's that I recommend the most, is the Iron Samurai 4 chroma and the DNA MD3.

From the moment I grabbed an MD3 I had a connection with it. It remains one of the most dependable discs in my bag, from Innova-molded to Discmania molded, it has remained a mainstay for me. Currently bagging 3: A DM-molded CLine which is a tick overstable and a mild dome (but not as OS as the MD5, which I also carry), a beat in IS4 (Chroma plastic is SOOOO nice) which has a nice straight, pushing flight, and an old Innova SLine which is nicely understable and holds wonderful anny-flights. Between these 3, the new MD5 and the new SLine MD3, I have all of my desired midrange flights covered. LOVE IT!

Recently picked up the Iron Samurai 4 to see how it compared to my standard MD3.  The chroma plastic is very pretty and feels great.  The plastic is smooth and has no flashing. The IS4 is definitely not as stable as my MD3.  When thrown hard this disc goes very straight.  I usually throw mids around 250-275ft. This disc I can push to 300 due to how straight it is. It doesn't handle headwinds well and will get significant turn.  Overall I am happy with this disc as my straight mid, but if you are looking for something more overstable I'd stick with a standard MD3.
