The Tactic is designed for tactical approach shots to the basket. It has a flat top and an overstable end fade. In Exo (soft and hard) plastic, it also has a good grip for precision placement. In premium blends like Meta and Vapor, it is more durable and will keep its flight characteristics longer.

    EXO Extra Soft

This is a great approach disc for FH or BH. It is torque resistant and the soft plastic prevents excessive skipping. It's not as deep as a zone or harp but flies similarly in terms of speed and overstability.

Leaving this review for the Exo Soft Tactic, but I will cover Hard and Chroma (RC3) as well.

This disc is the perfect marriage of my two favorite approach discs. I used to go back and forth between bagging the Harp and the Zone. The Zone had the overstability that I needed, but I hated the hand feel for both backhand and forehand. It's just too shallow. The Harp had a fantastic hand feel, but I could never find a run of it that was overstable enough to be reliable in all conditions and situations (even the Ricky Moonshine runs).

Enter the tactic. It has a very similar hand feel to the harp. The Exo soft tactic out of the box is similarly OS to the most OS runs of Harp. The EXO Hard tactic will beat in quickly giving you a very straight approach disc with little glide so you can rely on getting to the basket and sitting down. Finally, the RC3 filled out all the runs of tactic to be the very comfortable but also very OS approach disc that is every bit as overstable as the more overstable zone runs. I have found the RC2 to be overstable as well, but I am not a huge fan of vapor plastic in this mold.

To sum it all up. This is a great feeling disc that comes in a variety of great plastics and stabilities so that you only need one mold for stable to overstable approaches.

This is a sweet forehand approach disc. Start it pretty far left of the basket and high, and it'll drop down close to the basket. Very controllable if you've got plenty of room on the left. I switched to a Berg for forehand approaches though because I could control it better if I had to keep the approach low or if I had to anny it in there. But at this price, the tactic is awesome. The soft plastic absorbs the ground impact well and usually doesn't go much further. And has good feel in the hand.

Great for forehand players, especially if you have medium - small hands. Beats in to be exactly like that jawbreaker zone everybody wants, but with better feel imo

The Tactic is a fantastic approach disc! I've bagged 2 in exo soft plastic and they are probably the best all around workhorse approach discs I've used. I say that because bagging multiples of these in various stages of wear will cover most of your approach needs. Exo Soft is GREAT, it's like a way more durable version of Discraft's Jawbreaker plastic, it beats in at a medium-quick rate, which will turn your Tactic into a great straight flyer over time . The tactic will be very overstable out of the box, similar to a Discraft Zone, but a bit less overstable. I loved using this disc for forehand approach shots and backhand drives. For a while I paired this with a Z Zone, using the tactic when i wanted no skip off the ground and the zone when i did want some skip.

Just got this disc a couple of weeks ago and already love it. It is a great mixture of consistent over stability and smooth, straight flight. Even though it always stables up at the end of its flight, the exo soft plastic refuses to skip too far, which makes for a lot of parked approaches. I would recommend this disc to beginners and advanced players due to its comfortable rim, ease of use, and consistency.

Its a stellar approach disc. Pretty similar to a Zone but with a sharper edge and a slightly concave rim. I think i prefer the zone for throwing and the tactic for putt and approach. Im also a huge fan of that sweet Swedish exo line plastic. I have a tactic in both hard and soft, but haven't decided which i prefer in this mold. Usually I favor soft but the hard is really nice in this mold.

Love the feel of the exo plastic, very grippy but still smooth release. If you love the harp in one of the base plastics but find it too deep to forehand then this is the disc for you. Very similar, but definitely slightly less glide which I actually prefer for more accuracy. I use this disc for short tricky upshots that I need to sit. Perfect for 100-200' forehand. In the soft plastic it does not skip much, it is very easy to control distance and placement. It does beat in quickly but as long as you don't put 250' power or more on your shots (which I wouldn't use this disc for anyway) it won't turn over. 8/10 for beginners, 9/10 for intermediate.

Playing disc golf without an overstable approach disc is like playing ball golf without a pitching wedge. When you find the one that works for you, you immediately start saving strokes. The first one I ever tried was a Harp and I really like it for both FH and BH approach. The Tactic feels so similar to the Harp that I have to suspect it's the exact same mold in different plastic, since Lattitude is manufacturing these. If you do not like the way a Harp feels in your hand, you will not like the Tactic as it is the same flat plate feel. I have a hunch that the Exo Soft plastic is the same as the BT soft or BT medium Harp but I haven't had a chance to compare. Personally, I think I like the exo soft plastic more than my origio plastic Harp, it has a tendency to plop down right where you put it, with, at most, a 2 foot skip in the direction of the fade.

I am able to get all the same shots out of the Tactic as I can with the Harp, but the different plastic requires a different amount of power to achieve the same thing. If I throw them the exact same, the Tactic is about 10-20 feet longer. So when I first got it, it took me a couple rounds to start dialing in the same touch I was having with the Harp but it didn't take me long to find it.

Overall, I think that it is probably best to choose one disc for this slot and learn it well. Going back and forth between the two tends to confuse my body about how hard to throw it. I haven't really decided which I like better yet or if I would prefer something else in this slot but I will definitely keep both around, perhaps switching them out based on course conditions, I do think the exo soft plastic is slightly less wind resistant than the origio Harp but not dramatically so, and both are equally overstable. If anything maybe I'll throw the Harp in the wind and the Tactic when I need a sticky landing.

Can confirm what a previous reviewer said: this disc is so good at approach you wont be challenged with putting often anymore. Instantly dropped three strokes off a local course since I was able to get tricky approaches I couldn't nail before. Flight numbers seem pretty accurate as it has a strong fade and it likes to drop to the ground and stick with the low glide.

The Exo soft Tacic is the best new approach disc since the Harp came out. It feels a bit like a Harp but the PLH is a bit higher and the bottom wing is a bit flatter like a Sinus.

In flight it is between a Harp and Zone in flight and the softer plastic allows it to hit and stick super well. Holds up to power really well and fades hard. Excellent for forehand shots and anhyzer backhands, also does super well on spike hyzers.

One of the better new discs I've tried in some time.

Exo Soft 175g, Exo Hard 175g and Neo from the Mystery Box.

Flight numbers are pretty accurate to me although I suspect a higher level player will feel the disc is less stable. I use primarily for forehand upshots, or shorter drives with danger beyond the pin and occasionally as a get out of trouble disc. Not as OS as a Prodigy A2 IMO. Soft/Hard are discs that will rotate out of your bag if you are a pro and desire higher stability, they beat in after several rounds. Neo I have only taken out a couple times and can't speak to durability yet.

Exo Soft: Flat-topped, most stable. Grabs the ground best of the three.

Exo Hard: Flat-topped, next in stability

Neo: Slight dome, stable but least of the three plastics, best for trying to skip

Its a great forehand approach disc. It stays straighter then MD5, without flipping over. I also like the grippiness of the Exo soft plastic. It helps it settle really nicely on the dance floor. My takeaways are that it beats in a little too fast and requires a little sanding out of the box as the edges on a couple I've had have been quite sharp. If you are ready to buy a couple and have sand paper on hand. Then it would be a great disc for you.

I bought this disc, because my current go-to approach disc was a BT Hybrid Anvil which replaced my Soft Harp/Justice combo. Well the Anvil's are impossible to find without paying like $50, so I went hunting for a less expensive replacement and fell in love with the the EXO Soft.

This disc is very true to #'s and if you are looking for something you can backhand/forehand with nice dependable fade like a  Pig,Zone, Justice,Anvil, Deflector but in a Soft plastic, then this disc is for you.

    Best part the price tag.

Great overstable approach disc. I've used a Harp, and a Sinus in my overstable approach disc slot, and this one I believe is more overstable than those two. Don't think it will kick the Harp out of the bag, but might get added when playing during a super windy day.

I love the Tactic in Exo Soft for forehand approaches. The soft, in my experience, is the most stable of the hard, soft, vapor plastics. Anybody who has thrown a Zone or a Harp will find a familiar feel to the Tactic. In my experience, this one has the best combination of being an intuitive thrower (rarely under or over throw my target) and loves to STICK pretty close to where it lands. You'll typically get a soft roll or possibly a skip if the surface is on a golf course, but overall this thing flies very intuitively.

If you throw a Berg, you'll also find this disc pretty intuitive. Within 50-75 feet, I'll approach with a Berg, anything further and I'll switch to the Soft Tactic. While I use it primarily for forehand, it's definitely great for backhand approaches too. You can put a good deal of power and it'll fly straight before reliably fading and sticking pretty close to the target. As they beat in, they do fly straighter and become less reliably stable, and can turn over, but it's a subtle change one can adjust to easily. Of the Razor Claw, Exo Hard, and Exo Soft, Exo Soft is my go-to.

Such a clutch utility to get around trees. EXO soft sticks well to dirt/leaves. The 3 fade will help you reset a bad drive and this disc feels most like a regular frisbee of any I have besides Mako3. It's like a lifetime of muscle memory comes back whenever I use it. This is the hook shot approach disc you want. A reliable path every time for how much late curve there is.

This disc is one of the best approach discs in my bag. I used to keep an Innova Pig in addition to my Gator, but the most recent Pigs got domey and lost a lot of stability. The Tactic is reliable and dependable. This thing is NOT turning over and can fight the worst headwind (which is saying something, I live in Kansas). The soft does get super dinged up pretty easily, but I like the feel a lot more than the EXO hard, and the soft is also great when you want to avoid a skip on a steep green.
