Great forehand disc and great flat midrange off the tee. You can really put some power on it! I'd say it's my farthest midrange and can push it 330 or so on a good throw.

However, my only complaint is this thing definitely has some turn on it. I find my Buzzz's fly straighter, but less far by a little. Things thing turns, glides, and comes back

I dont care who says what. The hornet is the BEST midrange in the discraft lineup. Beautiful disc. I have never been more confident in a disc than the hornet. I have two. One straight and one overstable. Both hit lines i have never been able to hit before. If you dont have one...get one... i cant emphasize it enough

For me these numbers are right on the money.  I own two Hornets; one at 165g, the other 145g.  I found that the heavier weight restricted my ability to use this disc off the tee.  The lighter weight is perfect for a number of short par 3s on my local course.  My experience is that the Hornet will begin to turn quickly out of the hand unless thrown at full power.  It makes a great approach disc to turn sharp corners.

For a RHBH with above average arm speed, this disc is a beast in my opinion. It has enough glide to zip past some obstacles in a wooded course before finishing off with that very overstable flight. It has a very consistent flight pattern, and is actually a pretty good skip shot disc when thrown with enough hyzer. I don;t think I would recommend this disc for a beginner. It may be a bit specialized for being so overstable, but it's a unique midrange and will be staying in my bag.

The Hornet is a great mid to fill your overstable slot. This disc has a real nice feel in the hand with a lower profile and no bead. Even without the bead, it is plenty overstable. One thing that separates the Hornets from similar mids is its glide. It glides really well for an overstable disc. Its flight reminds me a lot of a VIper (they feel nothing alike though). This is a nice compliment to the great understable/neutral mids in the Discraft lineup.

This thing is a meat hook.  Are you looking for an overstable mid that is great for forehands? Then, look no further.  The Buzzz OS gets all of the hype but this is the best OS mid in Discraft's line-up.  Amazing feel and glide.  you can torque on this thing off the tee-box and it isn't going to turn.

This disc is the hidden gem of the Discraft mid line-up. Especially in ace race ESP plastic, it is my favorite mid of all time.

In heavier weights this disc is a true 5,5,0,3.5. In lighter weights this will fly more neutral 5,5,0,1-2. Reliable fade at the end of its flight and can count on it not to turn over.

This is a good disc for newer players learning to throw an overstable disc. I actually like the 2010 ace race version best which I think is ESP. Not sure how it compares with the Z. I would imagine that the ESP might break in faster, but if the elite-Z flies like the ESP did new, then the hornet is a really great midrange disc for throwing into headwinds. It's also the disc that taught me the most about release angles because it was the only overstable disc in my bag at the time and was the only one that kept hooking left on me and from that practice session, I started to appreciate stability as it pertained to flight after release. It's not my favorite midrange, but it's fairly reliable and has its niche in my bag.

I carry a 177g Elite Z Hornet. The Z plastic used on the Hornet is different than other Z plastic. It's opaque with more flex than the Z plastic used on the Buzzz. That is why I picked it up from the local pro shop. Then I threw it and it worked its way into my bag. It is faster than a Roc but slower than a Truth. It's flat and feels comfortable in the hand. I like that it doesn't have a big bead like most OS mids. It's great on flex shots and headwinds and spike hyzers. It's a great OS mid that can be used in various ways on the course

This is the hot disc in my bag right now! In a 2 disc challenge, I would take a Hornet and Comet. The Hornet is not only great off the tee for a straight glide and nice little snap fade at the end, but it also is a great flick disc at 100' in for us non jump putters. Put this in some Cryztal plastic and I'll buy it for life!!

I got a Hornet in green, as I remember the old "Green Hornet" TV show starring the great Bruce Lee as Kato.  The Hornet is an overlooked but very good disc. It feels like a Buzzz in the hand (someone said it had a bead;  technically it does but that bead was so small I thought it was flashing).

The Hornet s overstable and has a reliable fade, but it has some glide as it makes that left turn (on RHBH throws).  I find it useful for shots around obstacles where I need it to glide after it gets around.  It's also good for skip-shot approaches to the basket.  Most of my uses for the Hornet are utility-type shots, but it can be thrown for distance that is competitive with other overstable mids.

The grip of this disc is solid. Fits well in the hand and the plastic is awesome. Like elite Z it is a good plastic, very durable.

The stability is solid, very a dependable disc. This disc will fly very straight and then has a very hard fade at the end. This is a little unfavorable at times and then just what you need at other times. You can shape this disc into almost any line that you want.

Overall a decent disc, and it is dependable on what it will do. But I find other discs that are easier to shape and control the flight path.

Discraft has a very muddled OS mid line up. The Wasp, Buzzz OS and Drone I see tossed around on courses and talked about on reddit. The Hornet however is...forgotten? I was someone who had passed over the Hornet myself for a time, but I have come around to discrafts most forgotten about role player in the bag. The Hornet is criminally underrated.

I bagged Wasps for awhile, but both my flat top and puddle top Wasps had a nasty tendency to turn a bit more than I wanted out of my OS mid before hyzering out. The Hornet had been sitting in the closet, and after I pulled it out and did a few rounds of throwing the Wasp and Hornet back to back on shots that required an OS mid, the Hornet just straight outperformed the Wasp. The Hornet just locks on to the line, rides it deadnut straight till the dependable strong finish. I can put some sauce behind the Hornet and trust it to not deviate from where I want it. Wind? Doesn't matter. The Hornet attacks the line every time.

The Z Hornets are opaque and gummy-ier than the other Z line mids I've had (Comets, Wasps, Buzzzes, Drones). I love how they feel and how they sit when they hit. I have hit a few trees with it, since I live in New England and trees are abundant on our fairways and the disc hasn't lost much stability. It's exactly what you want in an OS mid- durable and dependable.

The Hornet has quietly become a disc that I depend on. It isn't discrafts most popular mid, but it is certainly one that should be able find it's way in your bag.

Some may think the hornet has less glide than a buzzz, but I think they're about equal. This thing is as straight as an arrow with a healthy fade at the end. I use hornets more than my buzzes now because they're super consistent for me, and are simply fun to throw. Most glide of any overstable mid out there.

A new addition to my bag but have loved it so far. A lot more glide than your normal midrange, but still overstable enough to finish right. I use it for wooded holes around 200-250 ft that require a bh hyzer.

The HORNET is one of my go to approach discs when I want a nice fade at the end. I use this disc about as much as my ZOMBEE and wouldn't play a game without them. Great overstable midrange that you can really manipulate with hizer and anhizer shots. Absolutely love this disc!

This disc is the answer for those midrange shots that need to be straight with a hard fade about 200' to 250' out depending on how much power you put on it. Or you can put it on a hyzer line and get around those trees or out of trouble with an immediate turn. A disc like this is a must have.

Imagine a Buzzz with less glide and more stability. That is a Hornet. Not for beginners. A good supplement to the Buzzz for windy days or sharp fades. Less fade than Discraft's Drone or Wasp. If you don't know what a Buzzz is, I would highly recommend purchasing one. A Hornet is probably closer to a new KC Pro Innova Roc than a Buzzz is...
