One of my favorite molds in my bag, very underrated.

I have an older disc, in champion plastic. It flips up a tiny, tiny bit, then flies flat for a little ways, before settling on a constant, slow, fade. It is slow enough that it seldom skips, but fast enough that you can still get a decent amount of distance with it.

I have no problems with the (backhand) grip, especially if I stick my thumb a little further towards the center of the disc than I otherwise normally do.

If this disc lands on a steep hyzer, it will usually skip, but if thrown at a low angle, I have never had it skip on me, and I have been bagging this for about 5 months now.

I usually use it for throws anywhere from the 150-275 range, depending on the shot shape, and rarely have to factor in it flipping, unless I'm throwing with a headwind.

Overall, this is probably my favorite fairway I've encountered yet, and I really hope Infinite gets more in stock soon.

    Have a great day!

The Banshee is a mold that, for me, seems better in theory than in practice. My review is based off a pair of Champion Banshees that I threw for a while. The flight numbers were accurate - 7 speed with more fade and less glide than a Champ Teebird. Again, theoretically, this is a slot that should have a place in my bag - an overstable utility for when a mid isn't enough but your 9 speed overstable utility of choice (Firebird, Felon, Draco, etc.) is too much.

However, my main issue with this mold was the feel. I like to forehand these type of discs and both Banshees I threw had some pretty noticeable dome to them. Also did not like the feel of the rim. I found myself reaching more often for muscling my Gator, powering down my Draco, or putting a little more hyzer on my Champ Teebird. I like the idea of this disc. I had some good throws with it. Perhaps if it was flatter and more comfortable. But as is, I no longer bag it.

This started out as my favorite disc to forehand and eventually became my favorite disc to throw. It performs excellent in the wind, and the lower arm speed makes it more controllable than the firebird. Forehanded into a left to right wind, this disc is going dead straight every time. You can put these on as much anhyzer as you want and be confident that it will fade out every time. I wish they made more of these in different plastics.

I really enjoyed throwing the Banshee and found it to be a reliable overstable fairway driver.  I found it to be a solid option in the utility slot in my bag.  This is a very good option, but I found way too much overlap between a Firebird and a beefy Eagle.  For that reason, I just can't justify keeping one in my bag.  That being said, the Banshee may be a great first option for someone looking to get an overstable driver.

Awwwww, it's a baby Firebird! How kaYUTE!

Seriously awesome disc. Mine is a super grippy 168g Champ F2 (whatever run of Champ this is, I love it) with a very slight dome that was one of my first disc purchases. I haven't shown it enough respect until recently. Dusted her off as I began to learn forehands and discovered that she's a Swiss Army knife forehand and backhand. My arm speed and the local wind speeds are a little much for the 168g, she gets bounced around a bit, but she always fades. Like clockwork. Very similar to my Firebird imo, with more control. I'm in the market for a max weight Banshee now. Winds should be no match for it. I might even flatten the 168g to see if losing the dome helps it not get bounced around as much. But that could very well be a function of the weight and the ridiculous high desert winds.

Very underrated disc. While y'all chase Firebirds, I'll chase Banshees.

This disc flies true to its numbers, the same speed as a Teebird, but with noticeably less glide and noticeably more fade. I use it for hyzer forehand shots to the basket when I need a reliable spike and more distance than the Buzzz OS. This is not a particularly versatile disc for me, though it does have potential as a backhand, headwind fairway driver. If you're just getting into more overstable discs and the Firebird is still a bit too much, you should give this a shot!

Depending on your speed, this could be like a beefier Teebird for you or could fill an overstable slot kind of like a firebird. Didn't find a spot in my bag but I've seen some bigger arms than mine to some nice things with it.

    171g Champion Banshee
I received this disc as a mystery disc in one of my older orders and it's become a very reliable utility disc in my bag. I don't use it all that often but it typically comes out when I'm in a pinch. It flies a little flippier than the flight ratings in my opinion especially on forehand. This disc sees a lot of use for straight forehands with soft finish, tomahawks (as it falls reliably straight), and wide hyzers with strong fade that isn't too glidey.

I wouldn't recommend this disc for beginners as lower arm speeds are likely going to see the disc fade out extremely quick, but for intermediate and advanced players looking for multiuse disc, this could fill that spot in your bag.

    Champion Banshee

This disc holds the special place in my heart as the disc that lead to my first birdie. I parked a sidearm and it was instantly one of my favorite discs. It's reliable fade makes it predictable and consistent, it comes out of the hand really well and feels good to throw. It's domey-ish and will fight out of an anyzer line leading to some extra distance. Really awesome hidden gem of a disc that most people don't think to pick up, but you should.

It appears Infinite is on a Banshee mystery disc spree and I can't say that I'm disappointed. The Banshee has always been on my radar but I never really picked one up as I figured it wouldn't really fit in my bag. Lo and behold it took one day to find a use for it. The Banshee has a very strange rim/grip but it's actually pretty comfortable. The one I got was moderately domey and while I usually do not like forehanding domey discs, the dome combined with the unique feel of the rim was actually pretty comfortable. Rather than a sharp hyzer/ skip the Banshee's fade is more of a dump than fade due to the low glide. I started throwing the Banshee on longer forehand approaches I didn't want any skip and it worked very well in that slot. I'll keep it in my bag for now to see if I can get any use backhand. This would be a good addition to a somewhat newer player's bag who doesn't yet have the arm to make use of a Firebird.

Like a couple others said, I got this one as a mystery disc not too long ago and I have LOVED it. Playing in a lot of wooded courses with low ceilings in the Carolinas, the lower glide combined with the controllability and strong reliable fade of a Teebird is perfect. Go ahead and pick up one of these hidden gems!

I got this disc as a mystery addition to my first order and I can't stress how much I love this disc. I just started playing disc golf last month with my experienced friends, and while they gave me some of their older neutral discs, this overstable banshee perfectly filled a hole in my "bag." The speed is perfect for me, and since I come from a baseball background, the banshee is a great option for forehand throws while I work on my backhand mechanics. Has saved many of my misthrows and turned them into good shots.

I received the banshee as a mystery disc. I have not put it down since. I live in a very windy state. 20-30 mph winds are a normal daily experience. The banshee is perfect for a head wind, especially throwing forhand.

I use my champ banshee mostly for tomahawk/thumber shots when the only lane I have is up and over. I'll also use it for forehand shots when its fade helps me swing it around corners or fight out of a crazy anny line.

Great utility fairway driver.  I use this mostly for forehand skip shots to get up and around things, or whenever I need to turn a corner very hard and don't have a lot of room.  It is nice to have especially in the woods where things are tight.  Could also be used to fight headwinds in more open areas.  Not beginner friendly, but would recommend trying this before moving up to a firebird.

This disc is only used for me for one purpose: to fight the wind. It is probably one of the better discs in doing so. I have this in champion plastic at 175 grams because I wanted something consistent and that would break through all headwinds that stand before it. Though I only use this for one purpose, it definitely has its worth on other situations. I've seemed this disc used very dependably on some anhyzer flex shots that don't require a vast amount of distance. For this instance, it does appear useful. Other than that, it's a utility disc because it doesn't have a lot of glide but has a lot of fade. It is probably too overstable for a beginner to pick up and throw well because of how quickly it will fade no matter how much power put in the disc for any arm strength less than professional. I have also found success flicking this disc and it feels great, which saves the rating a little bit for me. It's a solid disc.

There are a couple disclaimers off the bat. There is a world of difference between the DX and Champion plastic, not just for most Innova products but especially this disc. Brand new, less powerful players are undoubtedly best off buying the DX plastic. The Champion is likely to be a nightmare for either backhand or forehand shots.

The Champion Banshee is a very specialized disc for me, I adore it for hyzer and headwind shots. There is one hole in particular on my hometown course that I use it for a thumber, where it ends its glide predictably across a river. Because of the plastic I can expect a long lifetime out of the disc and expect the same result. The speed rating I gave is based on what I feel is the proper effort to get the most out of the disc. The fade is adjusted for the Champion plastic, I've thrown both DX and Champion, and the latter fades much more rapidly.

PROS: World class headwind fairway driver, perfect disc to bomb hyzers, and a great choice for thumber shots.

CONS: Maybe TOO specialized a disc, needs full power to get the maximum potential out of the disc so there are fewer finesse options available as there would be with the TeeBird or others.

This is essentially just a slower firebird. I can't do a whole lot of knew shots with this that I couldn't already get out of my firebird. If you want that overstable form of fairway driver and don't think you have the arm speed for some of the more well known discs, give this a try. Otherwise, stick with the birds.

(I'm a relatively new player, pushing into intermediate in ability) Absolutely love this disc. Smaller rim sits great in my hand, but I can still rip it 300ft+ reliably.  Was my go to backhand disc when I first started playing, but is quickly becoming one of my favorite forehands. I throw this disc all over the course, I even opt for this over some of my mids just because of how comfortable it feels in hand. Feels very much like Firebird with more glide, and is far more comfortable to throw (for me). The more I improve the more I'm liking this disc over even the firebird in most situations.  Super controllable, very reliable fade and the Champion plastic can take an absolute beating. Though I do wish I could find it in more plastics, I would definitely bag a couple.

This is the best all around fairway driver I have ever thrown! This disc is great right out of the box for both forehand and power backhands! It is like a baby firebird, but has much more glide! Once they are beat in a bit, they start to fly like teebirds and even a fresh Leopard3 if you have one for long enough! This is a very overshadowed disc in innova's line up, and is by far more versatile than the teebird due to its overstability and ability to be beat in!

I feel that this disc actually has better glide, though it is probably just the one I have.  It's a great disc for head wind shots and some get out of trouble shots.   It will hold straight for a bit before it fades and hooks left.  With enough heat you can get it to stand from a hyzer release.   Great disc, very predictable.

The Banshee is a nice overstable disc that would be a suitable firebird replacement. This is like a beefy, less glidey Teebird, and not in a bad way. Sometimes you need that added stablity. The one downside to this disc is that its only avaliable in limited plastic. I would probably throw these if they were made in star plastic.

For the most part, if I am throwing this disc something has gone very wrong. if i need something to hyzer hard or skip a ton this is the go to. if the firebired is too much for you or your shot this is an underappreciated gem.  i enjoy throwing annyflex shots that finish hard right with this. the banshee is to the firebird what the teebird is to the thunderbird.  find one of these and put it in your bag. you wont use it a lot but you will be glad its there.

Champion 172g. I did not like this disc as much as my 170g banshee, but it was still a very servicable disc. I throw an xxx instead of this disc now just because its fade is harder and I can hit smaller lines with neutral discs. However, This is a disc that I could easily go back to and throw with confidence.

This is a great disc for the times when you need to go slightly further than your Buzzz OS or Justice wants to go, but still have a reliable fade at the end. The Banshee is an excellent overstable fairway driver that won't be affected by wind and will always fade right where you expect it to. Excellent for both backhand and forehand finesse shots.

The Banshee is a very useful disc for me, and is my "Junior Firebird" as I've never done well with the Firebird itself.  The Banshee is a great hyzer disc for me when I'm in a trouble spot or need to hit a line on a dogleft-left hole.  It does not have a lot of glide, which is good when I don't want glide.  It It is also good for skip shots.  It's a reasonable forehand disc when I need that.  If you want a beefy disc but the Firebird is a bit much, try the Banshee, it's good stuff.

This is my main control fairway driver.  It isn't too long, I get about 280 ft out it at max, but it always finishes left.  I also use it on stand-still throws to get a right to left hook at shorter distances.  It almost always skips after landing - after you figure that out it is fun to watch.  I've thrown it sidearm with success and it works very well as an anhyzer flex disc.  This, in my opinion, is the non-pros version of a Firebird.

The Banshee for me is a great example of a fine utility disc. My 169g Champion Banshee has a comfortable spot in my bag and only sees daylight about once maybe twice a round. First off this is a fairly sluggish overstable disc. Like has been mentioned before it doesn't fly far, even when powered up. It does have a very healthy and consistent fade no matter the amount of speed you put on it. As far as a utility disc I use this disc on two major types of shots. The first is the tomahawk/thumber type shot. One that you throw up and over obstacles wanting it to turn a bit and come down a little left or a little right of where you threw it. The second shot is a short dogleg or skip shot approach. One that you don't want to overshoot your goal but need that over stability to kick in and bring that disc around a corner or tree. For me, this is where this disc excels. I would recommend this disc for players who need a good consistent utility disc, keeping in mind that this disc might not see too much daylight. But agiain, I carry one every round, not knowing when I might need that very special shot.

I managed to find a banshee in x-out star plastic and immediately fell in love with it. The banshee will go out straight for a little while and give a nice gentle fade. It will also fight wind relatively well. Works great for short doglegs or shorter wide open holes. I use this disc both forehand and backhand. I go to this disc more than any other fairway driver. Highly recommend!

The Banshee is a disc that serves a purpose, but that doesn't come out of my bag very often. It's not fast enough and strong enough to use it for most drives, and it doesn't fade enough for me to use it for strategic fading shots. It's a good driver for the wind, but it's rarely windy enough that I need it around here. This is a solid overstable fairway driver, but I like the MVP Resistor better.
