The Katana is an amazing high-speed distance driver with major turn and fade. The Katana will move through the air like no other disc. This speed-13 driver has an incredible degree of high-speed turn (3) followed by major low-speed fade (3). Innova says this disc has “flight characteristics of the Sidewinder on steroids.” The Katana is capable of making huge turnover throws, and sailing for maximum distance.

I have had the opportunity to throw the Katana in multiple plastics over the past 2 years, and my Champion Glow max weight disc is by far my favorite of my selection. This disc is what convinced me of the overstable champ-glow theory. I was launching my Star Katana out with a bit of a hyzer, and after it promptly flipped up, it proceeded to turn with no intentions of giving me that beautiful +3 fade that I count on the disc to give me. This disc in Champion Glow fixed the problem, and actually increased my distance as I learned how to give the right amount of elevation to the disc.

I think that the speed of the disc makes it bad generic disc for beginners, and as I have found over time, it is hard to outgrow the disc when used for great distance. I definitely love my Destroyers, but the turn that I can get from my Katana while still getting the hard cut at the end of its flight makes it such a useful disc.

Nice s-curve, stable at first. My go-to distance glow driver. I tried giving it a 4/5, but it keeps reverting back to a 1.
