The TL is the sweet spot for mold minimalists, right in between a Leopard and a Teebird. I can easily shape it left, right or center; backhand and forehand. A true fairway weapon. Not going to get the big skip of a 9+ speed, but also not as much distance potential. This is for carving lines and staying in the fairway.

I also like the TL3. I've had some that were flip-to-flat lasers, but being flatter, it's a little less forgiving. The mild dome on the TL gives it a more gentle turn and fade than the 3 variant.

    168g Champion (Clear/White) - Driving to 330' RHBH

Exactly as described. Slightly less stable Teebird. A bit more fade than I expected but it could be the specific run I got. If you lost your seasoned Teebird and the Leopard3 is too understable, this is your best option.

I got this disc on a whim 3 years ago and it was the best thing integer did. After 3 years it is also the only disc that is still In my bag. I have never thrown a more dependable straight flying disc. This is a laser. No better disc for tunnel shots or tight fairways. It holds lines well if you put some angle on it. Effortless distance and accuracy. This is a must have

what a babe of a disc.

    for context, i average throwing rocs 320, TL’s 370, and destroyers 410 (460 max) based on a rangefinder. i’m at 800’ elevation.

i bag two champion tl’s. star plastic for the TL is more flippy. i just love champion plastic for my fairways, though. anyway, the tl stands for teebird-long. it’s a 7-speed that goes longer than a teebird so yes it’s kind of a long teebird but the flight, for me, resembles what would happen if innova made the roc into the fairway (but it feels nothing like a roc). when i through it at fairway power, i get the exact flight numbers (7,5,-1,1): a slight turn and then a pushing, gliding, gentle ‘fade’, just like a dx roc. if i really lay into the disc it turns closer to a -2 but doesn’t burn, it just pushes right and holds longer before fading. i’ve pushed them out to 400-410ft on many occasions by laying into them but i get better control with destroyers at that distance. tl’s shine in that 300-380 range — you can basically just point and shoot. haha. the tl is trying to kick my valks out of my bag. finally this disc is very comfy. just fits in the hand so cozy.

the coolest thing about the TL is that everyone can justify bagging it. it’s actually workable for a beginner (get star or dx glow) and you’ll never outgrow the mold, it just takes on a different, useful role.

Another one of my most used discs. I don't have anything that flies this straight with so little fade. Easy to throw and control. I reach for this on wooded tunnel shots. I throw rhfh and in an open filed can max this out around 350. Holds any line I out it on. Lucked out buying this disc used from Play it Again without knowing anything about this disc. Have a TL3 but was disappointed as is it less stable and reliable in my hands.

So first, a little bit of background about this disc, in case you're wondering what the difference is between a TL and a Teebird (and this is all from what Internet research tells me).  The Teebird was created back in the day by Innova at a time where DX was the only plastic available.  DX plastic, of course wears rather quickly, so a DX Teebird that you were throwing for a few months didn't fly like a fresh off the shelf Teebird.

The plastic technology was slowly improving, and out of that came an early version of Champion plastic.  Champion plastic (along with other later premium plastics) tends to emerge from the molds a little more overstable than DX plastic.  And in addition to that, Champion takes way longer to beat in, so they would remain more overstable for a long time.  Innova was worried that if a customer picked up a new Champion Teebird, it would be more overstable than what they're used to and they wouldn't like it (though history has shown that not to be the case).  So their solution was to use a slightly different mold for Champion discs.

The wing on a regular Teebird is known as an X wing.  To make it a little less overstable, Innova substituted a more understable L wing.  In most cases the X versions of discs remained the most popular.  But the Teebird L ended up being popular enough that Innova has continued to produce both versions, with the Teebird L becoming known as the TL.

Onto my experience with the TL now.  My brother gave me a Champion TL for Christmas a few months ago based on its reputation as a super straight fairway driver.  And while it seems to be on its way to being that, it started out much more overstable than I expected.  In fact, I'd say out of the box, the flight resembled that of the Teebird: 7 / 5 / 0 / 2.  The flight numbers listed on my disc are 7 / 5 / -1 / 1, and my disc has definitely not gotten there yet.  I've seen that some TLs have printed flight numbers of 7 / 5 / 0 / 1, and I would say that those numbers seem closer to the type of flight I'm able to get right now.

Released flat, my TL will fly flat until it fades.  If it has any turn, it's almost imperceptible.  At the end of its flight, it has a small fade, though larger than what I'd expect from a fade rating of 1.  But if I'm on a long hole with a gap that I need to hit, I'm going to reach for my TL.

Because this is in Champion plastic, it probably will take longer to beat into the advertised flight.  I've had several hard, direct tree hits with this disc, and its flight has hardly changed.  I fully expect that the TL will become the great slight turnover, slight fade disc that it's supposed to be, but if you get it in Champion plastic, expect its flight to more closely resemble that of a Teebird out of the box.

The TL is a tunnel shot dynamo. The flight numbers only hint at its potential. I use this disc for shots that need to go laser straight out to about 200ft and maintaining a height of under 12ft. The TL only exhibits the slightest of fade at the end of its flight and if you release the disc on a tiny anhyzer line it will finsh dead straight. If you have a low ceiling, narrow, tunnel shot then this should be the disc for you.

    Disc: 168g Champion TL (yellow)

I love this disc. It is the perfect disc for my skill level right now (intermediate). Really getting some good distance (especially on tailwind).

Flight: The TL is a very straight disc. If you know me (which you probably don't), then you know I love straight discs. What I love about the TL though, is that it doesn't turn over when thrown with power. So it just goes straight, with a gentle fade at the end (much less fade than my TeeBird I had).

Uses: Throw the TL on big open shots, or throw it on tighter tunnel shots. It flies straight so can be used most anywhere. Doesn't have much turn, so I don't recommend it for turnover shots. I throw it smooth (aka not super hard) with my forehand and can get a nice controlled straight flight with it too. This disc is great for tailwind shots too, as you can really rip on it and it flies straight without the normal hard fade.

Summary: The TL is currently in my bag and working wonders for my skill level. It replaced a TeeBird that was fading a little too hard for my liking. I would definitely recommend the TL as a good longer straight flying disc.

If you have thrown a Teebird and wanted a little less stability, the TL is a disc to check out. The TL still retains the high speed stability, but it holds that straight line with a little less fade at the end. It really flies like a worn in Teebird. If you are throwing more understable fairways and looking to step up to the next level of stability, this is going to do that job for you. The TL is a versatile disc that newer and veteran players can find uses for.

All I hear about is Teebirds, FDs, and Leopards, but the TL takes the cake in my book. Out of the box, the TL flies light a beat in Teebird. I have thrown 11x KC Teebirds, and the TL is the closest modern-day disc to the old Teebirds.

The TL will flip to flat when thrown with some force and continue straight before a slight fade at the end, much less than a regular Teebird. The TL can get a little flippy into a moderate headwind, but functions as a great overstable tailwind driver.

I bought this disc for its ability to hold tight lines, hoping to get good control shots through obstacles. Not as easy to do as you'd think. Now it's my main forehand disc for shorter upshots and tight gaps, and has worked out great for that. I wouldn't recommend it as a starter disc, but that's just me.

I got this disc in a player's pack in a tournament and loved it immediately. Thrown flat, it flies flat with very little fade at the end of the flight. I'm not sure which plastic type it is. I thought it was Glo, but that is not an option on infinite's website, so the closest would be champion in terms of look. Since I've gotten it, it seems to have beaten in a bit and has become much more flippy then when I first got it. I loved this disc right out of the box but now find myself having a hard time controlling the flight line now that it's beaten in more. Right out of the box 5/5 for sure, but now 3/5. Maybe i'll try one in star plastic and see if that holds the flight characteristics longer.

Amazing Disc, holds the line that you put it on. Not a great disc for a beginner jest because it is hard to keep from fading out without having enough arm speed to keep it up. Once you have the arm speed this disc is guaranteed to become a go to

I have a 175g TL. This is one of my favorite drivers and on windy days it is my go-to disc. With it's zero turn and 1 fade it's a straight shooter for the most part. Into a thrown directly strong headwind I'd say it would be closer to a -1 turn and 0 fade. On calmer wind days I use this for flick/forehand shots. Backhand or forehand it will hold any line. Also with it's lower speed it a good overstable driver for newer players to try.

I have this disc in 171g champion and 171g G-Star when G-Star just came out.  I haven't thrown the champion one yet mainly because, why, I love the g-star lol.  I know the champ will be more stable. This disc has a decent heartbeat to it, which I'm guessing it's where it gets its glide. Its not really gummy like some of the G-star leopard3s for example.  It really hold it's shape and feels nice in the hand.

I recently put this disc back in my bag and it took out the teebird.  I have no idea why I took it out, what was I thinking.  If I need the extra fade I minus well just throw my thundy.  I threw this disc in mild to calm days RHBH.  It goes really straight. I love speed 7 fairway discs. If thrown flat with say 35 - 40% power it'll fade a little early than I like. So, I give it a slight anny angle release and it goes straight. Can't say i would be inclined to forehand this disc.  In my experience flicks have more power coming out the hand and i can bet this disc would turn over.  I've been guilty of overpowering my discs and this disc has helped me with that.  I wound recommend this disc to anyone. I wouldn't advise throwing it into a 15+ mph headwind as i imagine it would turn and burn. I should try it though, curious.  So yah, get a g-star version, so far its been the best mold for that plastic type that I've seen anyway.

I bought a 170g Champion TL summer 2017 and it is now my favorite driver for any shot <320-330 ft. (although it's capable of flying 350+ ft).

The flight path is very straight with a beautiful little fade at the end. I have never been more confident that a disc will fly where I want it to. Tight windows through trees? No problem. Needing a straight line? Look no further. For control, distance, and consistency, it is my favorite driver.

Every Innova disc has left my bag over the years with the exception of the champion TL.  I have a love hate with the Teebird mold. A bit too stable fresh and take a while to beat in.  Then you lose one and its back to square one. So I tend to go with discs that slot fresh with good durability.  The Champ TL is that seasoned Teebird out of the box.  I don't have to sweat when throwing over water knowing I can replace my happy disc without having to train it for a season.

I love the TL. Have been throwing these for a long time and they never disappoint (though the mold does seem like it use to be flatter, especially in the Star plastic). Just a great point and shoot disc for shots that are just a bit out of the range for my mids. It holds a line, any line at that, really well. Find it perfect for getting something through a tight space 200-235 out or just being that disc that I can throw when I don't know what to through in a situation.

When I first started playing I asked around to find what discs I needed to build a quality bag that was beginner friendly yet was versitile enough to grow with me. I was pointed towards the Innova TL as I was told that it was very similar to the Teebird (arguably one of the best fairway dirvers made) yet it was slightly more beginner friendly. I picked up a champion TL and at first I was dissappointed, this disc satrted out very overstable and died with each throw, then i realized it wasn't the disc it was my amateur form. Once I progressed i fell in love with the TL, The disc is rugged and durable, comfortable in the hand, and capable of holding whatever line you realese it on. I pull out the TL in the woods because I know i can trust it to hold a line i realease it on, a compact throw on a hyzer line will flip up, fly straight, and fade at the end. In the open the TL is great for a hyzer flip and this is a great disc to learn forehand throws for beginners however I dont recommend this as a forehand disc for more advanced players. The TL is a staple in my bag, I carry three TL at all times in various states of wear and it is my go to fairway driver. Cant say enough good stuff about this disc.

I recommend a weight between 150-165 grams for a beginner carrying this discs because this allows for beginners to get the disc turned over enough to keep it straight and possible even get some turn on the disc.

250 foot shots, hyzer flips, turnover shots and yes.... STRAIGHT SHOTS!!  I have been a fan since my first tgtow.  I can only get the disc out about 250 feet but man is it strsight.  At the end of the flight it fades mostly DOWN and forward...  maybe a few feet of fade.  I am a  RHFH and I can say it is very very straight.  Also, the TX NOVA is another super duper strsight but not that long for me.  My RHBH is a work in progress...

This dis does just fine in.windy conditions....  it iswindy most days...  and w our courses our rocky, tree plentiful and outright abusive on discs.... so for tgat CHAMPION PLASTIC all the way.  Definitely give the TL and the XT NOVA a go... both will find a way in your bag.

    Best!!!

Must have disc for all throwers! I have had a TL in my bag since I started throwing. It can hold tight lines, hold a hyzer route, or it can even be a great turbo-putt disc. If I am ever unsure of what to throw at the pin from 220-300, I throw a TL. It will go where you throw it.

I like the teebird, I have been throwing it enough to where I can make it do what I need it to do for any shot. I recently started throwing the TL after owning it for a while and I love it. It throws strait and I get great distance with it. A great disc for beginner players or for those who throw slower or with less power. Grab one, it will come in handy just when you need it to.

I picked up a Champion Glow TL at 175g.

I feel weight and plastic will greatly affect how this disc flies for you.

Given this one is still brand new its very High-Speed-Stable and handles power very well without being flippy or uncontrolled.  Even will a full throw it held very straight and still had a moderate fade.

I think the flight numbers are right on the money with this disc.  Great controllable fairway driver.  I felt I could throw this with a lot of confidence.  I have recently dropped an F3 for this disc.  It is exactly what a straight fairway driver should be.  Great disc.

I knew about this disc for a long time yet never tried one out.  I'm glad i did, it is perfect.

***update: I also used a Star TL. The Star disc (same weight 175g) had a little more movement, turned over a little easier, but still held nice and stable with a mild hyzer out.  The TL is a fantastic disc.  I hope they never stop making them.   I use an FD currently, but I will switch it out for a TL based on weather.  TL handles wind a little better, FD has more glide and travels generally farther.

This disc flies like a worn-in Teebird. If you don't know what a Teebird is, do yourself a favor, search for Teebird and then buy one. Easier to hyzer-flip or throw anhyzers with. I carry one when I don't have a beat-in Teebird at the moment. Excellent disc, a "beginners" version of the Teebird.
