I was looking for a low-speed, low-glide putter to use as a putting putter. I wanted something that was dependable and would not sail past the basket if I happen to miss. When the Armadillo hit my radar, I decided to try one out. I bought it in Victor 2 plastic because of the softness and because it floats. I have found that it grabs the chains well and has an extremely reliable flight. I trust this disc so much now that it is the only disc I use for everything from at the basket up to 120'.

Wow, what a fun and versatile disc!

Feel: Thumbtrack is reminiscent of a Rhyno or Birdie. The V2 plastic is incredibly grippy and comfortable in the hand. The mold feels a bit thicker in the V2 plastic compared to Alpha or Bravo.

Flight: I use this for putting, backhand, and forehand. For putting, I like to use the Dillo for longer circle 2 looks, where I want to float something in the air without and fear of going too long. For backhand, the Dillo excels on standstill upshots, angle manipulation, and short teeshots requiring finesse. For forehand, this disc is a dream. Think Berg with even more low speed control. The Dillo is point-and-shoot for forehand and gives me confidence to run short upshots that I never would have in the past.

Berg comparison: The Dillo frequently gets compared to the Berg. As somebody who threw the Berg for a while before the Dillo, I would say that is a fair comparison. However, the Dillo requires less power than the Berg and seems a bit more touch responsive. The Berg handles power better than the Dillo.

Key Takeaway: The Dillo is not a disc that will impress you when you try to rip it in an open field. The disc has a speed/distance threshold, and once you go past that the disc begins to display understable characteristics. 200 feet and shorter is truly where the Dillo excels. For me, once I start trying to push the disc to 250 feet or further, the flights starts to get a little bit squirley.
