The MVP Phase is the fourth high-speed distance driver in the 21.5mm distance driver class. This very overstable driver is more overstable than the Photon and faster than the Motion. The Phase provides impressive wind-fighting characteristics and torque resistance for even the most powerful forehand throws.

This disc is a huge stack of BEEF! This is an extremely overstable, very flat and genuinely comfortable beefcake of a utility disc. This disc acts like a deflector, but just with more range and more skip. This is by no means a disc I reach for very often, but when the situation calls for it, it always steps up and delivers exactly what I need. I primarily use this disc for thumbers, extreme flex forehands and huge skip shots to either side for those aggressive dog leg holes. As you can imagine, I'd never call this disc beginner friendly, but the niche slot it fills, it fills very well. 10/10 disc for thumbers, forehand rollers and tomahawks.

    170g Neutron MVP Phase

This disc is similar to the Infinite Slab, and it is really hard to pick between the two. I think the slab requires a better arm to throw correctly. I am not skilled enough to get a consistent throw out of it, I suggests less skilled players who are throwing backhand pick up the Phase as it seems to require less skill to use. The fade is deep, so keep it in your bag for that reason.

However, if you throw a lot of overhand throws, then go with the Infinite Slab instead, The Slab and The Scepter are both fantastic overhand discs.

    Disc: MVP Neutron Phase, 170g

Feel: This was my first disc in Neutron plastic. I like it, I like the durability of it, I wish it was just a tad bit grippier, but I can’t really complain. This disc feels pretty good in my hand, especially for forehand throws. The disc is super flat. I can’t think of many other discs that feel the same in my hand.

Flight: This disc is overstable, as you can tell by the numbers. When thrown RHBH, I can get it about 200 feet before it starts to fade. When thrown forehand, I can somehow get the same distance (My forehand is a bit underdeveloped). You can really rip on this disc into a headwind, and it won’t turn over. I threw this disc once on a backhand roller line (I knew the result wouldn’t be good, I was just having fun and wanted to see what would happen). I threw it well, and then watched as the disc turned my sharp anhyzer into a slight anhyzer line, go flat, and dump left. I literally put it on a roller line, and it came out of it. I was quite amused. I’ve never thrown any other disc quite like this one. I’ve also found myself grabbing it for thumbers, a shot I don’t use much. This disc isn’t the most comfortable disc for thumbers, but it isn’t bad. It has the best result hands down when I throw a thumber with it, no other disc does what I want it to quite as much or gets as much distance.

Overall: I really like this disc! It’s a great utility disc from MVP! I say terrible for beginners only because there is no option that says atrocious and horrendous for beginners. If you don't have a high arm speed, you won't be able to get this disc to do anything at all. The only reason I’m rating this at 4 stars is because I feel that there are other better utility discs on the market. Even other utility discs from MVP. I think the Motion, or the Fireball are a bit better in my opinion. So unless you are an advanced player with a monster forehand or a great thumber, I don’t think this disc will find its way into your bag. You might have fun playing with friends, showing off its overstability, but it probably won’t ever be something you will use competitively.

Accurate to numbers - Super Flat - Wind Resistant in all weights

This thing is super flat, pretty sharp and fast, and really really overstable. Even if you have a really wobbly forehand, you're not turning this over. It's always going to fade hard. Never seen a headwind even remotely effect this disc.

Neutron plastic is amazing premium plastic. Not much else to say about this disc. It's almost boring because it's so predicable. This fits that crazy overstable utility disc slot.

Phase is what I primarily use for sharp hyzer forehand shots or to get myself out of the rough. I have had several successful scrambles from around 200 feet out with this bad boy. It fits comfortably in the hand and has a smooth release. Due to its super fade, I wouldn't want to throw this on a normal drive, but for its specific purpose it's great.

I picked up this disc after watching Matt Dollar smash overhand and forehand shots with it (even though I've never really been a fan of double molded discs) and it definitely did not disappoint. I have the disc in the Neutron plastic at 174 grams. While this is not my go to thumber disc (just because it has a very wide pan that does not work for tighter gaps), it is definitely my furthest. If you are an overhand player that is looking for a disc to add 50 feet to your drives, look no further. This disc is board flat, which really works well with overhand shots and makes it very easy to throw forehand and backhand as well. When thrown overhand, it pans out very wide and very slowly, allowing it to get maximum distance. With that being said, I only overhand this in an open field or when I need to go very high with it. As for backhand and forehand shots, it does not get much more reliable than this disc. It is overstable, meaning that I trust it in any wind condition and/or weather. Right handed back hands always will come back and dump left and right handed flicks will always dump right. This disc is about as reliable as it gets and I suggest any overhand player or any player looking for a very overstable distance driver to try it out.

This disc is an absolute fade machine, rip on it as hard as you want and it wont turn over. Great for windy days and skip shots or even a spike hyzer, you can always count on this disc to be dependable as far as replicating the same flight. The disc has no problem with forehands or backhands. The reason I am giving this disc a lower rating is because there are many other discs that are much better options than this one and my Phase's rim started to crumble after half of a season of wear and tear. It definitely just could have been a factory flawed disc because I also had an MVP Wave and absolutely loved it.

The MVP Phase is a beefcake. I was looking for a low profile flat-topped overstable driver for forehand rips. Being left handed I need a wider variety of shots to move around the course. I used to flex my destroyers but my throw advanced and I will now throw them into the ground if ripped on a low forehand anhyzer line. The Phase I can release on steep anhyzer and It will s turn beautifully before spiking into the ground. It's like a faster firebird that's even a touch more OS. I give it 4 stars because the first time I took it out when it landed the rim got a 1/4 inch cut in it. I have a few other mvp discs and this never happened. Maybe it is due to the sharpness of the rim or how it lands. I wish the black plastic they use on the rim was more durable.

This is a phenomenal skip disc. I use this in heavy headwinds as absolutely nothing will turn this over.  It's a utility disc for me, but if you throw it low and fast, it'll get half its distance off the ground and buttonhook like no other.  It goes in and out of my bag depending on wind conditions and the course I play, but I do own a few as the skip control increases with age.

So I had a couple MVP Phases at one point in time. And what I learned when testing them out was that I simply do not have the arm for this mold. These drivers are very overstable. If you are looking for something that wants to fade as soon as you release it and never even think about offering the slightest amount of fade, this disc is for you. It's great if you need that type of shot, but I simply do not. Too much disc for me

Let me say this is the best thumber disc I have ever tried! It pans out slow so you can get max distance for that thumber! I can bomb this disc 300+ for the thumbers and is accurate! If I need a long straight thumb shot this is my choice of weapon! I bag a 165+ in weight and it has been money. I can also use this for low technical fast curve thumbers as well. Once I saw Matt $ use this in 2018 I knew I had to get it and have not stopped throwing them. My 2nd overhand disc is the Machete from disc craft, I use that for shorter shots, more curving pan shots, and tomahawks. Get the phase and you can't get phased. The only downside is the wear and tear on the rim. The other two comparable discs to this is the flick and xxx, I like the phase.

The MVP Phase is one of the most interesting discs that I bag. I rarely ever throw it, but when I do, I'm glad that it's in my bag. This is an 11 speed disc that will fight out of almost any anhyzer angle you put it on and have a massive fade that dumps straight into the ground. On a full power flat shot, I can barely get my Phase out to 320 feet when I can through my other distance drivers out to 500 feet. Into the wind, the Phase holds a very true line and still has a harsh finish. On a thumber, this disc gives me the best distance I can get because of the slow pan and flat top.

    Feel/Profile

This is one of the flattest drivers I have ever thrown. There is little to absolutely no dome. The parting line is almost directly out from the top of the flight plate. The Phase is a dream to throw because of the comfortable, modern feeling rim that isn't too thick.

    TL:DR

Flat, low profile brick of an overstable disc that is great for thumbers, extreme wind shots, huge hyzers, and quick flex shots.

If you're looking for a brick to throw, well you have found it! This thing has very little glide and, at least at my armspeed, dives almost immediately to the ground. Whether flicking or throwing backhand I didn't get much out of this disc. I am a big MVP fan but this disc was clearly not for me.

This disc faded so hard on me I got terrible distance. My arm just isn't ready for this disc yet. I am still learning forehand so this could end up being my RHFH learning disc.

I would not give this to a beginner.

This disc is a meathook. This is the most overstable disc that I have thrown. It starts to turn after the first third of the flight. Good in headwinds.

I really like the Phase, for strong FH shots it can hold up to a good flex line/headwind or anything you care to test it with.

I have two, both 174, the White is gummier and has a tiny bit of shoulder to it. It has more glide becuase of this and will really go. I've gotten it neaer 500ft of a full power rip.

The Orange one is perfectly board flat and is the second most overstable disc I've ever thown right after the Gateway Spirit. It's amaszing to go thought headwinds and a really predictable FH roller as well.

The Phase is very shallow and perfect for a FH grip and for a wide rimmed disc it grips very easily. If you are looking for a utility/trick shot/headwind disc I would highly reccomend.

If your a new player that has lower power, probably don't buy it.

Can't wait to have one it Proton!

I love this disc. I rarely use it for my long distance drives because I have broken my collar bone about 2 years ago and it is very difficult for me to put my arm into it to give it the power required. But that being said this disc is similar to the NUKE OS and the STAR MAX I love both of those discs. I use this disc when I know I need to make a hard right so I release right hand side arm more torwards the left and boom it turns straight almost instantly with a nice right turn. I recommend this for those who love MVP discs and want a Nuke OS or Star Max type of feel.

Nice feeling disc, but it is almost too overstable.

I feel like if I threw hard enough it flat enough would do a barrel roll mid flight.

Love MVP this just isn't going to be staying in my bag

For me the MVP Motion is a great utility disc. It's perfect for forehand shots that need to finish right, and is NEVER going to turn over on me. If I want to get any distance out of the Motion, I need to release the Motion at an Anhyzer angle.

The Phase makes my 172g Einestien Motion look like a baby. I dare say my 174g Phase is THE MOST OVERSTABLE DISC I HAVE EVER THROWN. Tried to throw backhand, with an anhyzer angle adn I can't even get 250 feet out of the Phase. Even for forehand utility shots this disc might be too much for me. releasted at a crazy almost vertical anhyzer angle and a high throw, the Phase still fades out of the flight.

If you're looking for something so overstable that it will behave overstably in a massive headwind, this is the disc you've been waiting for. If you're just looking for a really overstable MVP/Axiom driver, you probably will be fully satisfied with the Motion or Axiom Fireball. Unless you have a monster powerful forehand, or want a crazy utility disc, you'll probably want to put your money somewhere else.
