Proton plastic makes the Defy extremely durable with a translucent look and a slightly firmer feel. The Proton Defy keeps its overstable flight path longer, resisting wear for dependable fades round after round.

The Defy is a great overstable-ish driver. For me, it's not a max distance or every throw variety of driver; I find it fills more of a distance, angle, and wind control role much better. I really like it for high FH Hyzers, when there's either OB or other obstacles to worry about. I stand by proton as the most durable plastic on the market- I not only bought mine used, but I've hit anything and everything and hat no notable changes in the flight.

This disc is neither max distance nor max overstability, but for the intermediate to advanced player, it is a great role player.

173g Proton plastic.  Not for beginners.  I bought this disc before I really knew what to look for.  It seemed like a reasonable disc (speed isn't too high, flight path looks stable, etc).  It's not.  I will occasionally include this disc in my field/distance practice.  If I ever can make use of it, I will update this review.  As of now, no one in my family has any use for this disc.

    Wow. Just wow.

I keep wondering why I never tried the Defy before. It is perfect for that slot where the MVP Motion stables out too fast, but I still need something that gets super stable.

The defy flies straight for a long, long time then it dumps. For example, my Photon (Elaine King fission 173g) has a nice straight flight but it hyzers out super slow and land way more left than I want. The Motion doesn't go nearly as far and then dumps.

However the Defy goes as long as the Photon but instead of a long slow fade out, it dumps pretty fast so you're not more than 20' from the line you threw it on.

It's basically the missing link for my bag and I can't believe I waited so long to try it. Luckily at my last tournament I was talking to a couple team MVP guys and they turned me on to it. I'll never go back.

The Defy works fairly well for big sidearm shots as it doesn't turn over too much and the little bit of turn it exhibits can be easily compensated by a slight hyzer angle on the throw. But just like the backhand throw, the Defy will sail nice and straight for a long time then dump out.

It's not a max distance disc in that the Photon or Wave will get an extra 10% of distance, but it's a safe, dependable, and trustworthy disc that will do the same thing over and over again.

My favorite shot with this disc is on a 375' foot shot when the basket is blocked by trees and the only way in is almost directly to the right of the basket. I can huck this thing way out there and smile because I know that if I hit my line the Defy is going to dump back in when I want it to and give me a look for a putt.

I recommend this disc for anyone who is looking for something that is a little bit less stable than the Motion but more stable than the Photon.

Numbers: I think it has a -1 turn, at least the proton version. I get a slight turn out of it if I throw it flat, but if I throw it on anything more than about a half inch hyzer angle, the thing doesn't flip up, instead it will just hold that beautiful slight hyzer line the whole time.

I can't say enough good things about this disc.

My experience with this disc is that it hits the description nearly dead on. I don't have pro power for sure but, I can put a lot of power into this disc and it will hold it's line. Any line. For a long time. Then fade very predictably.

I wanted a straight flight, not quite "meat hook" fade and less skip than my Destroyer. I got it with the Defy. It works for me, might work for you, might not. Most of my MVP disc weights are in the 150's. My Defy is 163. In the hand it feels heavy and has the penetrating distance of max weight plastic. I love Gyro technology!

I recently received this disc from my cousin who apparently didn't like it. It says its 155 grams but it doesn't feel lighter than my max weight discs. For me it flies strait as an arrow during highspeed and has a nice fade at the end. It looks to e flying a lot faster than my other discs but they all reach the same distance. I love this disc and would recommend it to many people.

I really like the Defy - it works well as a distance driver in a headwind. It doesn't go as far as some of my other discs but it comes up with some great lines. I also really love the Punk limited edition stamp that it was released with.
