The newer runs of Mayhem = effortless distance. The newer runs are about more understable than some previous runs, or in other words, it's closer to the stated numbers. When I've tried the mayhem previously, it has always been a reasonable bit more overstable than the numbers would suggest. If you have a somewhat decent arm-speed, this disc will go the distance without any effort at all. I can throw this disc flat, get a drifting turn for the majority of the flight, followed by a mellow fade towards the last 10-20% of its' flight. Thr mayhem goes the same distance as other distance drivers I've tried, but it feels like I'm only using half the power (truly perfect). It's also mentioning that the proton Mayhem is a tiny bit more stable than the neutron, making them a very nice pair of complimentary drivers.

This is my go to bomber disc. For me it feels great in the hand and just goes far. I have hit 500 on flat ground no wind with this disc, but I typically hit about 450 on normal drives. This disc is perfect for getting a full flight for me. For reference I throw 68-70 mph on my full send drives. Straight out of the box this disc is pretty straight but beats in nice once you beat it in. I would like to see this disc in fission plastic to really see how far it can go.

My go to distance bomber. Mine has been quite seasoned so it is a fairly straight flier. Having a natural flat release can get this to push about 400ft backhand.

Out of the box its pretty stable, with a reliable fade. Yes it does have big rim on it being a 13 speed, but its not that big of a hinderance. (of course I have biggish hands)

fits a good slot in your bag though if your looking for something stable/understable in the distance catageory.

TLDR: These are my main max distance drivers. There are domey mayhems and there are flat mayhems. The flatter ones fly just like the flight path shown via inbounds, if you've got 450' ft of power. The domey ones fly just like the flight path shown, but at around 390-410'. Great distance driver for intermediate to advanced arm speeds.

Feel: This thing has a big rim. For reference, it's a tiny bit larger than most 14 speeds from the trilogy brands (ballista, catapult, world) but it aflies as fast and far for me as the 14 speeds. Both proton and neutron plastic feel great, but the neutron plastic takes the cake for me. It's like they updated and improved innovas star plastic. Both plastics are top tier when it comes to durability.

Flight: Straight to fade for intermediate, hyzer flip with fade for advanced players. My neutron mayhem is domey and has great turn but reliable fade every time. My proton mayhem is my "max distance control driver". I get it to about 400' during the round and it shows about a -0.5 to -1 turn. I'd say the fade is similarly affected with my domey mayhem being a 2 fade and the flatter one being 2.5-3 fade. Overall the flight numbers are accurate, assuming you can put the correct speed on it.

This disc makes my bag because it's very predictable at my arm speed without being overstable. Overstable at the 350' range, and fairly flippy at 400'.

It's ok in the hand for a 13 speed but I don't like how flippy it is, when it's supposed to be a -1.5  2  disc ... it's much more understable than my Excite.  Either this company's numbers are off as a whole, or they're really inconsistent between discs because I also have a Thrill which is like much more overstable than my Firebird.  I know that I just have to throw the individual discs and forget about the numbers, but it would be nice to order something and get what I'm expecting, and especially nice to order 2 of the same disc in the same plastic and weight and get the same flight out of them.

I bought a 168g neutron mayhem a few years ago. I knew it was too fast for me, but the colors were really cool so I picked it up.  Up until recently I had forgotten all about it.  I've been throwing destroyers for some time now and I was looking through my collection and figured it is time to try it. I pulled out one of my destroyers and put this in the mix. This disc completely bombs and it does so forehand or backhand. It glides way past my destroyers. It has more turn than a destroyer, but less fade. Kinda reminds me a a faster beast or shryke, but flies much further. Definitely can see this a a workhorse driver, but beware in the wind. I would opt for something more stable.

The Mayhem is one of my most favorite disc for anything really. This disc  is absolutely amazing when it comes to everything but, heavy wind. The only thing that I highly dislike about it, is it is very picky in the wind and when there is wind I Shy away from using it. Which is a shame because if I could use this driver each and every single time I drive I would and that's final. This disc is actually amazing for really nice low, controlled, S shots, anny shots, and flip up shots. This disc is absolutely amazing, I feel it works best for me it it's weight is to be anywhere between 170 g to 175 g. Do you anything I really like about this disc is even though it's high speed I can throw it without very much arm speed and still get it to go 350 feet. Neutron plastic all the way though. This disc lasted me for a long time until I lost it in the lake no matter how I threw it whether it be forehand or backhand it just felt comfortable and boy did it go far. Overall it's a great disc and I've had it for quite a while but I also think that a beginner of any sort should never be anywhere near a disc of such high speed. Yet again I will say it's slight under stability and the way this disc goes with little arm speed is stunning to me and I truly feel a beginner who is just starting to get some arm speed could probably use this disc and be very happy with it just as I have been since day one.

The Neutron Mayhem is my go to driver for every line!! So workable. I can reach 400' on a max throw and this disc can do it all. If I need a dead straight shot that as a slight natural S-Line this is perfect. I often use it for big forced anny's as well because it will ride forever and have a slight finish back. It can be a bit touchy in the wind because if the the high speed turn it is capable of producing (the flight numbers are right on) and just like almost all high speed drivers with any fade it is not a great disc for beginners but can become a staple for those look to take the next step up.  If you have never thrown an axiom driver this is a great one to have.

Honestly one of my furthest flying discs! This has the best flex line and is a blast to throw. a disc that i would recommend to anyone who has a decent amount of arm speed. Even for those players who don't have big arms it would be a great disc for hyzer shots. For me personally the disc is very controllable from 450 and down but can still put up 500 with decent accuracy. Personally the -1.5 turn is pretty apparent in the flight. By no means is it a super flippy disc but it does get a bit of turn. If you put the disc on an hyzer angle it will happily hold it. If you put it on a anhyzer angle it will hold it for the high speed flight and get a decent amount of fade as it slows down for big distance. my primary driver for most drives. All in all its highly recommended.

Ooooookay.. I'm fairly comfortable saying I throw RHBH 450' on flat ground with no wind. Maybe on a perfect shot I can get out to 490'. I'd say odds are 1/20 with a good destroyer.

So here's the story: I'm at little mulberry park in Dacula, ga. Tournament is over, time to bomb on hole ten like an idiot. Some pros go long pushing 550 down hill and play on before we throw. Now granted, it's a downhill hole. But 550 is no joke. And its welcome on a 900 foot hole. So they walk down and once I feel everyone is out of range, cleveland hands me a mayhem. "Put it on a slight hyzer" he says "that's the sweet spot he says." Sure buddy, bet. WHOMP! I accidentally placed all of my smash on this one disc while simultaneously pushing the red flashing "full send" button. The disc took that torque and turned it into leaving my location rapidly. Flips up and rides over right in a serious way, but just keeps eating distance and gliding. Then comes more flex than the Arnold classic. Finished on a big hyzer skip about 10 feet from those pros I thought were out of play. Net result: the mayhem landed 565' away from me, about 40' lower in elevation, and I didnt look like a chump in front of those bombers.

Is the mayhem for everyone? Probably after your first few months of playing. I would use this disc as one to grow into. At first itll be your over stable utility disc. Then when you throw 350 itll be your dead straight driver. After that? See above. Upon further practice, heed the "no headwind" reviews and definitely be ready to hyzer flip this thing kevin jones style for maximum awesomeness.

I dont review discs in writing often.. as a matter of fact I think this is one of my first. I'm also aware I'm not the only one claiming a big distance on the internet. But I felt the story of my longest throw made this disc worth the thumbs up. Give it a shot. Mvp/ axiom/ streamline make some good stuff.

420' disc for an otherwise 390' arm.  169grams.  Shhhh, don't let the secret out...

I have: Shyrkes (star and Champ), Cranks, Raiders, Trespass, Corvette, Colossus, Tern, Destroyers, Boss, DD3, DDX.  I have tested on the field and course.  Nothing can go as far as Axiom Mayhem.   The Mayhem is less stable than a typical Champ Shryke or Crank.  Star Shyrkes are more flippy.  About the same stability as my Fuzion Raider in stability, but blows past it in distance every time.  I have to put on a bit of hyzer on the Mayhem and let it bomb.  Not a good disc if any headwind.  Calm, days, tailwind- ideal.  It has more dome than any of my other discs and takes a bit to get used to.    The flight path looks very much like the graphic "powered by inbounds".   For players with bigger arms (450' +) this can be a finicky disc and either power down or more altitude is required to avoid turn and burn.

    Easy Distance

I have been using the Mayhem as my max distance driver for about 8 months now. For reference this disc is nothing but a longer Discraft Crank. For max distance I'm throwing between 430-480. I've had a few in Neutron that just beat in nice and slow and is by far the farthest flying driver I've ever thrown.

However i just recently picked up one of the 2019 Goblin King Plasma Mayhems, and I was really impressed by the stability out of the box. Where I was expecting a less stable slow turning Mayhem the one i got is a beefy heartbeat dome bomber. The numbers for this run are more accurately put 13/5/-1/3. More similar to a fresh Octane.

I use it for pushing hyzer bombs, I use it for flip up laser beams in the woods thrown hard and low, and of course when i feel like cooking up some mashed potatoes on a hole I'll rip it on a slight hyzer and watch it turn over and ride.

I will say that the Mayhem tends to be squirrely in a headwind, where I would just stable up. But in a tailwind you couldn't ask for a better disc if you have the power to use it.

The Mayhem is a bit of a mystifying driver. On some drives you'll see noticeable high speed turn, while on others the disc will seem to fly stubbornly and hyzer out early. Its a very fast flier with somewhat above average glide. The Mayhem penetrates well and is capable of big yardage.

I found that the Mayhem requires a fairly big arm to throw properly. The disc has some high speed turn, but it takes a lot of speed to see it. Fail to throw the Mayhem hard enough and it'll stall out and die. You will NOT get any miracle distance here. The Mayhem will only give you the distance your arm is capable of generating.

Overall I'd recommend this disc to guys wanting a pretty neutral speed 13 driver. The -2 high speed turn is somewhat deceptive in that you need to throw the Mayhem hard to see it. This disc is very similar to MVP's Octane. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if its the exact same mold. I'll call the Mayhem a very serviceable driver, but nothing remarkable. It won't magically give you better distance over other similar drivers.

so sweet, i won a custom dyed Mayhem in a ctp. i had never thrown axiom until then but i was excited by the look and feel of this thing, just seemed like it was a bomber. out of the box it flies like a perfectly beat in destroyer, more on the understable side but with a clean release it will hold a really nice hyzer and finish with a forward penetrating fade. also had pretty nice lines forehand as well. i could see all skill levels getting some great use out of this. just a lot of easy distance with decent form, high speed and easy on the arm.

The Mayhem unlike a lot of the MVP/Axiom discs has an extremely curvy profile to it with it culminating into a pretty large dome. The neutron plastic I got was extremely stiff and felt amazing. The rim on the Mayhem is big it feels like it is just begging you the launch it making it feel okay backhand and kinda huge for forehand. My Mayhem is a 175g Neutron and as I mentioned it was massively domey and quite stiff.

The Mayhem is supposed to be substantially flippy but out of the box this disc is quite straight flying which was a bit confusing at first. This disc on hyzer does flip up a little but generally it held hyzer all the way through. When thrown flat and hard it has a small s- curve pattern with a smooth hookup at the end. When flexed on this disc holds that line hard and doesn't pan out until the very end and the glide on this disc lets it carry a long, long ways. You are going to use the Mayhem when covering the most distance possible is not impacted by the space you are working in, its not a disc you throw with touch you need to absolutely rail on this thing and give the height to do its thing and for that it is absolutely awesome. It worked pretty well for overhand shots giving a nice pan but it was way too overstable to roll.

This disc worked alright in a headwind its good glide and decent stability lets it go pretty far but that monster wing makes it very touchy and is probably better off staying in the bag when the headwind picks up. In a tailwind let this thing rip give it the height maybe some flex and watch this disc go.

This disc is quite fast and pretty difficult to throw beginners will likely not get much out of this disc.

Overall the Mayhem is a pretty straight flyer at my average arm speed and it feels like a disc very much designed for people with a fast armspeed. It seems to favor having large amounts of airspace to work with which sequesters it to being used mostly for open shots.

I love this disc.  When I have room to throw it this is my go to driver.  It is the furthest flying disc I have and has a pretty consistent line.  I love the feel of the 23mm rim with the overmold.

I have not thrown it in windy conditions yet so I'm not sure how it does in the wind, it has a nice long S-curve in stable conditions, though in the wind I would expect it wouldn't flip back as well.

My favorite of the new 23mm drivers from Axiom.

They are all quite domey discs, which I tend to like.  Surprisingly easy to throw for a 13 speed driver.

As a RHFH thrower I enjoy it.  This is now my favorite distance driver that I bag.  When I have room to rip a disc this is what I reach for.

One small word of caution - this disc will flex out pretty far during its flight path.  make sure you have plenty of room on the side to let this disc do it's thing.  Does not perform well in headwinds.  Look toward the Panic if you need a headwind disc.

The Axiom Mayhem was a pretty fun disc to throw. I tested it out at the same time as the MVP Teleport, and you can go to that review to see some of my concerns I expressed about the glide on MVP and Axiom discs, but the Mayhem I liked a bit more than the Teleport. I found it to be more understable than the Teleport, so I was able to get a bit more distance out of it.

I can't remember if the Mayhem is the same rim thickness as the Teleport, but it is a high speed driver so it will have a thicker rim, and I have noticed that the thicker rims on the MVP/Axiom discs feel a little different than the thicker rims on other discs. That isn't meant to be a bad thing, but I think it is something you might notice when throwing it. But overall I think this disc is a great addition to the Axiom lineup of discs!

I ordered a 166g Skullboy Mayhem, and holy crap, it is the prettiest disc I own. I don't have the strongest arm, but it seems like I have just the right amount for this disc. It flies just like the chart above if released flat. If I anny it a little bit it follows that line for a long time before fading slightly at the end. If I hyzer it a bit it follows that line for a long time before it crashes. This is my first Axiom/MVP disc and I am impressed. My bag is mostly Discraft, and this disc flies a lot like my Big Z Crank with less fade. It seems more consistent too. I really love the different color combos you can get with Axiom as opposed to big bro MVP, and I have heard bad things about the black rim getting beat up real easy on the MVP discs. Hopefully this Axiom disc holds up.

This disc makes me want to try more of the Axiom line-up and maybe change my bag up a little.

    Job well done Axiom.

I took a new Mayhem out for a dozen or so throws across a field where I could see how it flies, and though I liked the relatively straight flight with solid fade, it didn't feel like anything revolutionary within the Axiom / MVP family. I could put a little anhyzer on my release and get more distance with more of an S-Curve flight, but the Mayhem still maintained a solid fade, just like its MVP counterpart, the Octane. It is a dependable distance driver for those who have the arm speed to throw it. I believe it is supposed to fly a bit less overstable than an Octane, landing itself somewhere between the MVP Octane and Catalyst, but that difference seems slight enough to me that it's hard to distinguish the subtle flight variation...at least at 4,600 feet elevation.

I give the Mayhem 4 stars for being a solid, dependable, stable-to-overstable distance driver if you can handle a 12-13 speed disc. But I wasn't completely in love with it as a "must have" disc for my bag, since I already have quite a number of similar discs.

I had the luck to be able to pick up 2 Neutron Mayhem's at 174g each.

I went to the field right away to test them.  The short version is its a nice distance driver that allows some turn with overall straight flight that hyzers out fairly solid in the end leaving a mostly straight line with finish a little left of center (depending on your aim/intent).  I really liked this disc.  Describing it as a 'worn in Octane' is correct.

The disc has moderate dome - especially for MVP/AXIOM discs , nothing more than the Octane or Nitro that I've thrown.  So its not 'domey' per-se but it has it, still comfortable in the hand - but not the smoothest feel.

The rim is a little curved down on the top and the underside goes in flat/level and archs down. It feels a little pointy at first but if you're used to MVP/AXIOM its nothing foreign. The only reason Id rate it 4/5 is that the feel isn't really the best...its not bad by any means, but my DDX or Outlaw and even the Octane feel a little more comfortable....but once you kinda get over that its a 5/5 disc.

For a player that wants to find a Destroyer-like disc that has more initial turn, this is a good option.  Nothing really compares to a perfectly seasoned Star Destroyer, but if you want one right away, the Neutron Mayhem is a good choice.

Overall I really liked the disc and hope to have some playing time with it this weekend.

*UPDATE* After more use I bumped this up to a 5/5.   It really flies amazing.  I got used to the feel really quick and now its second nature.  It has a nice controlled turnover that will allow good straight distance.  Always hooks up, Like an overall more stable Star Tern....which is a disc i have been looking for.  DDX was close, but the Mayhem is a GO TO disc.   Recently I threw into a headwind 425 ft accurate S shape....INTO a headwind.  usually that kills my distance but this thing just goes.  My second shot actually overthrew the 760ft hole.   I do think i'll up the glide to 5 because this disc goes further than you expected it to.   It's always longer than i guessed.  Awesome disc.  NEVER leaving my bag.  Get one.
