I've had this disc for a while, thought that if I beat it in it wouldn't be as stable. Let me tell you, the plasma plastic holds up. This thing has blasted trees, concrete, light poles and is still crazy stable. You can grip and rip this thing with confidence, I do not think a mere mortal will be able to turn this bad boy over.

I tried both a Neutron and Plasma Mayhem. Both fly differently. Either way though, if you can't throw 350ft+, you will not benefit much from this disc other than for forehand shots.

Plasma Mayhem - Flight numbers feel like a 12 : 4 :-1 : 3. Does not get as much glide as a most of my other stable distance drivers. It is a durable driver that will not beat in quickly and can be used as workhorse, but it does not get as much distance as other drivers. The plasma plastic looks cool though.

Neutron Mayhem - Flight numbers feel like a 13 : 5 : -1.5 : 2.5. The Neutron plastic is the best version of this disc. You can get a nice amount of turn and glide on it. It flies more like the numbers from Axiom suggest it should. The grip from the Neutron plastic is superb as well.

I have been noticing that with most MVP/Axiom/Streamline discs, the neutron plastic always seems to be the version I like the most.

As far as 13 speed drivers go, this and the Shryke are the best options I have at Altitude. Discs fly far more stable up here, and this disc is just understable enough that I can get crazy distance with it while maintaining accuracy. I have not brought this disc to sea level where I fear it might be too undrstable for me, but up here it is insanely workable and covers distance like a champ. Axiom also has some of the prettiest plastic in the game, so if you want a 13 speed to show to your friends even though you have a noodle arm this one is the correct choice.

Only complaint I have is that it is very sensitive to nose angle, but that is a common theme among nearly every distance driver. Throwing even slightly nose up with this disc will lose you 150-200 feet of distance sometimes though so keep that in mind if you decide to try it out.

I’ve been playing roughly 4 months now and have nerve damage in my throwing arm. I have been trying different discs from all different companies in different plastics to see what works best for me. I purchased some of the Axiom discs to see if the gyro effect would help with my issues, and I feel that it did. This was the first driver like this I ordered and it has a very smooth and predictable flight. I was able to push it out to around the 300’ mark consistently and could place it where I wanted. I am right handed and throw back hand and it had a nice smooth left fade at the end but not too much. Definitely would suggest this disc to other players of all skill levels.

My go to distance driver. Thrown on a sharp hyzer flip RHBH i got it to glide out to 400.

That said if you dont rip on this hard enough, the disc will fade hard and go nowhere. So i would not recomend this disc to anyone just starting. Unless you are naturally athletic and can pick up on body mechanics quick... stay away until you can hit 300+ on a flat line.

Also very useful due to how the disc skips it tends to really go left at the end. so on a tight green this might not be a good choice unless you go spike hyzer.

This disc could be considered beginner friendly, if this is part of your introduction to high speed drivers. If you're truly a beginner at the sport, this disc will not do what you're hoping.

In my honest opinion, when I took this disc to the field, it had a very similar feel to my Shryke. The flight path was nearly identical, but the feel in hand was a little off. I've mentioned in some of my other reviews that I'm not a huge fan of the overmold style, and I still stand by that statement. I don't discredit the company, or anyone who chooses to throw these discs. I really do feel like they are great discs, the technology is innovative and unique, and they work exceptionally well for some people. I just have a personal feel that doesn't line up with this style of disc. The flight was good and you can get some great distance with a carefully placed S-curve, but if you don't have the arm speed for this disc, don't expect anything but an early crashing hyzer.

Of the new 23mm class discs from Axiom, the Mayhem is by far my favorite and actually fills the current distance driver slot in my bag. I have 165g Plasma, 165g Neutron, and a 172g Neutron to cover slightly different flight patterns. As a RHBH player this disc flys with a nice S turn when released flat, moves probably 20 or so feet to the right holding the line, with a solid fade back to the target line. Release it on a hyzer and it'll hold a straight line with a healthy fade at the end, finishing left of the target line. I use the Plasma and 165 Neutron as my no wind/mild cross-wind bombers, and the 172g neutron to hold up with a little bit of a headwind or heavier cross-wind. It pairs so perfectly with an Octane and the Panic to increase stability as needed. I find the rim to be very comfortable in the hand, the plastic blends feel great and hold up well, and the art and colors on Axiom are always great! Highly recommended trying one out if you have at least 300' power, otherwise it could still take up the slot as your straight/stable driver if you're not quite at that mark yet.
