The Discmania CD3 is a very special disc that was useful in the hands of many players, regardless of skill level because of its high glide, straight flight, and soft finish. This disc is now out of production, and we don't know if Discmania will ever make it again. The 2023 DD1 has the same flight numbers, so if they do release a CD3 again, it will likely fly different than the old one.

The equivalent of Innova Star plastic. Discmania describes this plastic blend, "Excellent grip with great durability. This plastic ages well, which means your disc doesn’t have a drastic change in its flight behavior after a couple of collisions with trees."

Pretty much a Discmania Wraith. These CD3's absolutely bomb and I mean crush. Jamming these things 400+ feet feels incredible. The CD3 is my go-to for a wide-open crush. Great for large flex shots, hyzer flips, or long-pushing hyzers. Really moldable disc that can give you whatever you need.

This is my go to disc when I need a nice flex shot to get that couple extra feet at the end of my drive. It's really easy to turn over but usually always comes back. Not really for a beginner but a nice disc to learn the flex

I found one slightly used (basically brand new) at a play it again sports in swirly s-line. This thing can bomb. I love the wraith and for me this flies very similar. I love the 11 speed  niche. I've always found great success with a slightly slower "max distance" driver. I have decent arm speed and can throw about 400 feet on a good day so these fit right in a spot that seems just perfect for the flight of the disc. The 5 glide really helps keep this thing flying up the fairway. I think it has a tad more fade then the 2 it gives but other than that the numbers are right on. Mine has a slight dome to it but it's overall very comfortable to hold and get a good grip. I use it for headwind shots and keep it on hyzer and it will flip up and still come out at the end. I personally prefer a wraith because it's easier to get the weight and color I want, but if you throw only discmania or want a long distance control type driver this is a must get.

I love my CD3, although I haven't quite figured out how to consistently utilize it yet. My favorite throws with it are significant hyzerflips- it will stand up, ever so lightly track to right, but still fade a bit. However, personally, where I haven't consistently excelled is the aired-out high power light-turn shots. I've done it a couple times and it's great. This disc can definitely be a versatile 11-speed for your bag. Doesn't take a crazy power arm to excel. It can be beginner friendly as a stable disc out of the box for most throwers, but may take higher power to capture the high-speed turn advertised.Feels great in the hand. Ratings are accurate

For me, the numbers were more accurate when throwing forehand. Backhand with power for ~300 feet, went dead straight for half its flight, then gradually turns into a strong reliable fade. I play mostly backhand and can only throw around 300 forehand compared to around 400 backhand. So when I am throwing forehand, I’ll put my destroyer away for this.

This Disc Rewards Good Angle Control!

The CD3 is an excellent first high speed driver for beginners and intermediate players alike. The disc is super versatile, so if you keep control of your angles this disc can do almost anything for you. The 11 speed means you don't need excellent form and a strong arm in order for the disc to fly correctly. This disc is pretty comparable to a wraith, but with less fade so that you stay on the green at the end of the flight.

As per usual, you can't go wrong with Discmania plastics. Normally with something like a C-Line disc (same plastic as Innova Champion) it would take a while for the disc to beat in. But this S-Line plastic works pretty well right out of the box and stays at the same stability for quite a while.

If you want something like the CD3, but with more distance, the Enigma is your go to for sure!

This is the first disc I aced with and I think it's a bit underrated. Point and shoot! Let it fly.

GREAT DISC. Surprised me considerably. Flies like a well-seasoned s-line DD with MORE glide. Rim is perfect width for an 11 speed driver, slightly smaller than DD or destroyer width. Strictly backhand because of rim width and depth. Fast. Ton of glide. Can get you maximum distance, so I don't use it for any basket less than 350'. S line comes in so many vibrant colors, I love it.

This to me seems like Discmania's shot at a wraith. Its very close, but I give my nod to the wraith. My CD3 has a mild dome and is 171g, and flies much more overstable than I thought it would. I picked it up to be a backup for my go-to driver which is a well-worn flat top star wraith, but the CD3 flies more like one of the domey star wraiths, but flies a little slower. I'm sure with substantial power the CD3 can be flipped over but I personally was pumping it out to 370 and didn't get any turn on it. I'll keep this disc as a quality backup but I don't see it taking the place of my wraiths.

I threw the CD3 in both C-line and S-line, which flew extremely different from each other (both 175g). The C-line was pretty overstable. It would get just a little bit of turn if thrown around 350 to 400ft. The flight was very similar to a glow PD2, but with less fade.

The S-line CD3 is a completely different story. It had much more turn and glide than the C-line. If thrown on a steep hyzer, it would flip up to flat and ride straight before finishing left, while going around 400ft. thrown on a slight hyzer, it would flip up past flat and have a gentle S curve with a pretty straight finish, while also getting big distance. Overall, the S-line CD3 was much more controllable and fun to throw than the C-line.

Love the VIP series S-line I received. I would say it is a longer Rival.  I really like the smaller rim on this driver.  The smaller rims seem to work better for me.  This disc has a dependable fade at the end of its flight.
