The Millennium JLS is a great stable driver that helped revolutionize the future of distance driver technology. This was the best-selling disc golf driver at the beginning of the century. The “LS” stands for long straight, and while this disc both turns and fades, it is a very consistent disc that regularly lands where you are trying to throw it.

This is a great option to fill the straight fairway driver slot in your bag.  I find this disc to be very straight with moderate power and a solid hyzer-flip option at higher power.  It can also hold an anhyzer line for those turnover shots.  I really like Millennium's quantum plastic because it has great durability with decent grip.  Check out a JLS if you get a chance, you will not be disappointed.

I have a lunar quantum run of JLS and I've been very impressed. It's a very comfortable straight 7 speed driver with lots of workability, especially in technical woods golf. Great for hyzerflips or flip to flat for laser straight flight.

The JLS is the base to my whole game. I am a big JLS fan. Back in the day when the JLS first came out I was fortunate enough to get one and it totally changed my game. It's been about 20 years now and when I started getting back into the game I had to get more because my old ones were a little beat up and I didn't want to break them. Still my favorite disc after all these years and I still use my old ones. I can literally play a whole course with just two JLS discs in hand. I have every plastic and quantum is a little more overstable but has a little more glide also. These days in a serious game the JLS is mostly used for my second even third shot. I can't get real distance with it like some of the newer drivers like the shryke which is a perfect compliment to the JLS. But I can pull off any shot with the JLS that my other discs are better designed for. Straight, flips, doglegs, whatever. My game bag is almost all Millenium discs and I'm really happy with them all. The Orion LS is very similar to the JLS but I can always count on mine to get me close to if not right in the basket as a control driver, midrange or putter I can always count on it in standard, star, and quantum. I use the quantum the most these days because it feels really nice, has a nice glide and a subtle fade. I start every practice session with a stack of JLS to get warmed up and centered before getting on with any others. We threw a practice session yesterday with 5 discs on every basket. The JLS won every throw and by the ninth I was seriously questioning why I bother with any of the other discs or putters I carry. A great beginner disc as well as a great second throw for more experienced player.

Disc - JLS in Quantum Plastic

Just to pre-frame things, I have been playing more seriously for around 1 year but have played on and off for about 8 years. I am right hand dominant with a pretty even split between forehand and backhand shots. My honest drive distance is around 275-300 feet with a max of around 350 on a good day.

i initially took a shot on the JLS because I had read some glowing reviews about it on various websites. I had never thrown any Millennium disc before so this was my first experience with them. I have to say the disc felt heavy in the hand when first throwing it. I found that after the first few throws I was getting some nice flights out of it, but it was more overstable than I expected. I just chalked it up to the fact that the quantum plastic is known to be more overstable. For me it flew very similar to a latitude 64 Opto Explorer. This disc worked well as a control forehand disc and flew about to my average distance but felt predictable out of the hand. It worked quite well when used in a head wind and produced some awesome flights more true to the factory flight numbers.

Overall this is a decent disc which could be your go to fairway driver if looking for a moderately overstable flight pattern but not too beefy.

The Luster 1.13 QJLS feel and fly amazing! It's very straight and accurate, great for backhand, forehand, and Thumbers. I don't throw thumbers much but I have a 1.14 QJLS to a friend and it instantly became his go to for straight and low thumbers. Teebird top and Whippet bottom are probably why it's wind resistant.

I usually throw Olf's, Orc's and Wraiths for longer distance but I've gotten the JLS to about 370 feet on a wide open hole. However, where this disc shines is on real tight lines or when you need to land/skip straight.

The flight number in my opinion are way off of this one. But that's not a bad thing. It flies very straight. In fact JLS stands for Just Long Straight. So why is it rated as -2,2? I can go -1,1.

It also has a narrower rim, identical in size to a leopard from Innova. Made by the same place. So speed 6.

So if you read the numbers I give it it a very straight, controllable fwy driver with nice glide as well. I think 5 glide is on the ball. 5 stars.

Loved this disc immediately. Believe I purchased one at 170g in Quantum trim around 1999 when it came available. I was and still am an intermediate level player. Recommended by an advanced player working the pro shack for an average Joe like me looking for something long, straight, and dependable. This disc immediately earned my go to grab off the tee. This driver for me is the most consistent and accurate in the bag offering consistent results. The feel of control adds confidence to the bag I would comfortably advise for those even at amateur levels. At this weight and lighter it drops in left conventionally thrown right handed at the end or last 20' on a 300' straight drive tucking in nice and cozy at the cage. This LS disc reliably lowered my score and became a crowd favorite to watch perform that ending drift inward. Enjoy this smoothie gliding in tight!

The JLS is one of the original drivers in disc golf. There is a reason that this was once one of the best selling discs, and that is consistency. This disc is super comfortable in the hand with a smaller rim (great distance for the size of this rim), and its not flat, but not too domey. The QJLS is going to be super stable when new, almost like a slightly worn in Teebird, but as it seasons, it will become a true workhorse fairway driver. I can really throw this disc on just about any line. It has great glide, and doesn't require a ton of power to really get down the fairway. With so many discs coming out these days, its easy to forget about a disc like the JLS, but people should really give it a look.

    Disc(s): QJLS (Sparkle run 1.12) 170g & Quantum JLS (Luster run 1.13) 175g

Feel: Comfortable 7 speed fairway driver, similar feel to a Innova Teebird in Champion plastic with a more dome and a little taller rim depth. Both the Sparkle Metal Flake and Luster Quantum provide a premium grip over standard quantum plastic.

Flight: Thrown flat, QJLS - 7/5.5/-1.5/1, Quantum JLS - 7/5.5/-.5/1.5.

The 170g 1.12 JLS has a bit more wear to it and shows a bit more turn with less fade likely due to the lighter weight. The 175g 1.13 JLS is a bit more stable and handles wind a bit better.

With a tailwind, they fly similar to a Teebird in calm conditions. Headwind flight is more like Leopards in calm conditions. Powered down they still have a very straight flight. Usually around 300' to 320' straight distances and tunnels in calmer conditions I will reach for the QJLS.

Impressions & Comparisons:Great for standstill powered down shots, really straight tee shots, uphill shots, and hyzerflipping. Easier to manipulate and produce straight flight paths out of the box than Teebirds with added glide. Quantum Plastic is very durable and will retain the flight characteristics for multiple years of use.

This is a great disc that doesn't require a big arm for big distance. The QJLS holds a straight line and glides beautifully. Beginner or pro, this is a must have disc!

I really like the quantum JLS. I find it forgiving and easy to bomb. For beginners this disc will be straight with a forward penetrating fade. For heavier throwers, you will be able to shape lines and find this disc as a multipurpose fairway driver similar to a teebird.
