The Millennium JLS is a great stable driver that helped revolutionize the future of distance driver technology. This was the best-selling disc golf driver at the beginning of the century. The “LS” stands for long straight, and while this disc both turns and fades, it is a very consistent disc that regularly lands where you are trying to throw it.

Great straight flying disc with a touch of fade. My JLS is a go to in the woods

I'd like to replace my recent review with this one, as I made a couple of mistakes.

JLS flies more like a longer-range Shark, with a 0 turn and 2 fade.  Despite it having a 17mm rim (7speed), it goes exactly the same distance as the Leopard (16mm/6speed), but requires an armspeed of 8 or more.  It  works very well in a heawind though.

Inbounds' database rates the JLS at a -36% turn and 36% fade, which works out to -2 2, but that's maybe if thrown with a 9 armspeed, as any turn is not happening at 7 armspeed.  I think you need to use more like an 8 armspeed to even get a hint of a turn out of it.  But don't worry, you'll get that 2 fade at any speed - it might just happen sooner or later, depending on how far you throw.

Feel: I find it slightly more comfortable to hold than the Leopard.  It doesn't feel as thin, despite the overall heights being similar.  The top's curvature just feels like a more natural fit in the palm of the hand.

It's not a bad disc, but it's more something you'd consider when looking at something like the FD.  I've put it in a slot as a more overstable version of the gstar Hawkeye (8speed, -1 1).  My ratings deduction is for the guys at Millennium possibly having been under the influence when they assigned these numbers.

A better buy turned out to be the bigZ Heat, which gets me more distance than the Leopard or the JLS.   And since that was a toss-up with a gstar Sidewinder, I'll be trying the latter next.  (I just wish I had known that bigZ would be more overtable than Z because I'd have gotten the Z.  So the Sidewinder should fit that slot)

The JLS was supposed to replaceme a beat-in dx Leopard, and I wanted to up the speed by a notch.  I didn't want the Leopard3, because that barely gets a few extra feet versus the original, so not an upgrade, and also because the Leopard, when thrown fast, will make an unwanted climb in altitude despite being thrown flat.  After throwing the JLS for a few rounds, I ended up purchasing a GStar Leopard, for that slot.

I still use the JLS though - for fairway practice and when I have the space for it to fade back - or for a tunnel shot that need to make a left hook at the end.

Have had one of these since I started playing and it is my default fairway driver. Like is advertised the disc flies straight in both a rhbh and rhfh throw, while still holding its line.

I normally throw for narrow shots and control shots around 250'. For me who does not have a really strong arm it allows me to feel like I have control over it.

After trying and Astra, I got a JLS looking for a longer-than mid control driver. Honestly the reason I bought it is the price. It was several dollars cheaper than the other discs I was considering (though ironically after I bought it the price went up those few dollars). I'm sure they would all do the job. I'm glad I got this one, though.

This filled the spot in my bag, that's for sure. I find it to be a good disc where I can power down to get a long-mid/short drive. Superb for touch shots and tight tunnels assuming the tunnel isn't 300' long- fan girp shots.  It will hold a line all the way and go a very long way doing it. In fact, I think you could go without a mid-range with this in your bag.

It turns under power when thrown flat, and works very well for long turning drives. If I want it to fly straight (like its name), I hyzer flip it with some power or throw it gently flat. and it still turns some. A strong hyzer flip for me is going to pop up, turn a bit and fade a little bit less- RHBH- finishing a little right unless there's enough air under it to die and fade all the way back. It's not a bomber per se, but I'm glad I bought it. I think this is a great driver for young folks, old folks, beginner/novice. And it's a very useful disc for the experienced for control and shaped shots.

For me this disc goes where I want it to without fuss. I can park it on shorter hyzers and anny's; it's just a great disc for shot shaping. It covers distance with little effort, and the plastic is marvelous. It's soft/durable type plastic alla Gstar or softer Champion plastic. I rather like it, and will be considering Milennium Discs for future purchases. Unfortunately, there is no longer a price advantage to point me in their direction.
