I've long been looking for what this disc delivers. For reference, I average about 290 distance drives, max distance about 340. I've been looking for a disc l can throw dead straight at least 250 for woods and long tunnel shots. Before, I could only achieve close with my Explorer, but it's too OS and would fight out after 200-225 (full flight goes 275, but only straight that far). Otherwise it was trying to finesse a flippy disc to do a tight Hyzer flip and hopefully not turn over or S-turn too wide and hit a tree or trying to throw discs I can't keep straight that far and hope for a good kick, or flipping up my uplink to straight and laying up to 225 or so down the fairway. With this disc, it's point and shoot, on a baby Hyzer and it flips up to perfectly flat and rides out to about 250-270 before a fade finish. It's unbelievably useful. don't know if they all fly like mine, which I believe is neutron 172g, but here's my other closest flying discs to this flight: Relay - just as straight, same flight but shorter. Trail, more side to side movement for me, not as dead straight. Grace if put a slight anny on it will fly really straight and far, but not this straight. And I mentioned explorer already.

The Inertia is a solid disc if you have the arm speed for it. It can definitely sail down the fairway but takes a bit of torque to get the desired flight and flip. As a distance driver advertised as a 9 speed it's an intreguing buy for people starting to get their form down, but when you let one rip this thing goes. Feels very similar to the axiom insanity in the hand.

This is actually a review of the Blue Eclipse Inertia that came in the 2021 Gyropalooza Box. I love the way it glows! It's easily my favorite looking glow disc. MVP makes amazing glow discs and this is the best that I've seen.

As far as the Inertia, I'm not a huge fan of it. The obvious comparisons are the Axiom Insanity and the Streamline Lift. Both of which I prefer to the Inertia. The Insanity is the most consistent of the three and the Lift is great if you don't like the overmold plastic. I just don't see any reason to bag the Inertia over either of the others. In the Neutron plastic, the Inertia flies similar to the Insanity but with less glide. In the blue eclipse plastic, it flies more like an Axiom Wrath but way too easy to overturn. If I had to play a full tournament with glow discs this would probably make the bag but mostly for the novelty of the blue glow.

Your experience may be different than mine!

I've been playing since last July and have struggled with throwing understable discs accurately. I finally started to get consistent with the Wave but lost it and found the Inertia  at a local Ace Hardware last week. Have loved throwing it ever since and got my first ace with it today on a 330 foot hole. Flies like true to numbers, similar to a Wave but with more control. I would definitely recommend this disc to anyone that is looking for an understable driver that will easily hyzer flip flat and also get a full S curve when thrown flat.

I've had this disc in my bag for years and until recently didn't know how to throw it properly. On a RHBH released with heavy hyzer it will pick up flat and even turn over to an anhyzer if enough spin is put on it. This disc is amazing for bank shots around trees when there's no clear straight shot,  or even a straight tunnel shot if you have a good idea of hyzerflips. Wind will alter the shot a little but it finishes strong and gets great distance. I love MVP plastic and their discs for consistency and this is a must have for more advanced players.

I have a beat-up 165g neutron. This disc is great for beginners to help generate some turn. For advanced players with decent arm speed, this disc is pretty flippy. It flies true to it's flight numbers and when it gets beat up it becomes quite understable.

I bought this disc for my girlfriend who is a beginner. I got 156g weight and figured this would be an easy disc for her to start off with. The pros are the rim is soft and well shaped for her for her and occasionally she'll get an ok throw. The con is we both feel it drops quickly and has limited glide. I'm a solid intermediate player and my first impression was that it wanted to find the ground quickly. Alternatively, I tried throwing a 174g orbital during the same session and that thing flew forever.

I don't want to say this is a bad disc, but for both a beginner and intermediate player throwing bh, it wasn't what we expected and neither of us have spent enough time apparently to figure it out yet.

*Note about me as a player to help this review be most clear: I am 'intermediate" skill level, usually drive around 275 +/- 25 feet. I throw right handed. Hopefully this allows you to compare to yourself better and please keep in mind what point of view my comments are coming from.

The Inertia is my most reliable driver. When there's a tough line to be had, this is the disc I use, thrown backhand. I am a fan of the overmold, so that plays in. If you don't like the overmold, well, I wouldn't bother with this disc. Maybe that goes without saying... anyways, this disc is a straight flier with a nice little hyzer fade at the end. This disc is comfortable in the hand with a short rim. I would certainly recommend this disc.

I am waiting to receive an Axiom Insanity and will update this review on how they compare in case anyone is deciding between the two. They have very very similar numbers.

Such a fun disc to throw! This disc goes right where you want it to go. A great disc for Anhyzer shots, hyzer flips, or hyzer lines. It really does it all. Not too high of a speed so it's not a bad disc to get if you're someone who wants to improve your game and bet better. Overall this is my go to disc for straight wooded shots. Definitely recommend.

As a lower power thrower, I found this disc ultra reliable at any course. It holds a great hyzer, only standing up slightly for me and then hyzering out predictably everytime. I ended up replacing this disc with a Tesla after time as I felt I couldn't get the full flight out of the disc but as I am learning to throw further I may re-bag it. I found the disc quite shallow rimmed and flat topped but still comfortable and reliable leaving the hand.

If you're looking for a thin rimmed fairway to distance driver, you should really check this disc out. Its not the fastest driver out there,  so if you can't throw a speed 10 without rolling it, this will roll. If you have a slower throw or good power control,  this disc can be super versatile. I love it for long annis that land flat, or shots with an early gap and lots of distance after the gap. This disc is like a more versatile and more controllable valkyrie for me.

This disc was a bit touchy for me. I also remember not liking the shallow grip and plus/slanted type of rim. For me I have thrown a dozen or so MVP/Axiom drivers and none of them have really lived up to the billing. I thought the glide was low and the speed was faster then other brands. Just an OK disc that never made the bag.

This is the first mvp disc I ever owned.  it was given to me by accident, and at first I didn't care for it.  I was a pretty one-dimensional player at the time (throw hard rhbh, OS everything, etc), and I just turned this over all of the time.  When I started learning to throw rollers, though, I started bagging this disc more and more, and fooling around one day I noticed that I could reliably hyzerflip this thing almost 400 ft (provided I didn't throw into a headwind).  So essentially, a random disc wound up in my bag and stayed there for years, due to its versatility. I'd rate it higher if it was a little more predictable and/or if it had a little more glide.  Still a very good disc

One of my favorite discs in my bag, I use it on many types of shots. With low to medium power, it's a great straight disc with good accuracy and little early fade. With more power, lately I have turned it over more and use it for anhyzer shots. The disc holds its line well. I definitely like the MVP line of discs, as even the neutron plastic is very grip friendly.

This disc for me was a great disc to start learning how to throw rollers with. I HAD a 156g inertia and releasing it out flat it would glide for 50-70ft and then turn over on its edge and come down to a roller. I really liked it and it took over the spot of my old trusted Mamba in my bag for a while, until I lost it. I would really recommend this to a beginner looking to find his/hers first distance driver. Very user friendly and a good tool to learn how to shape your shots with.

To start i throw all trilogy plastic, and the one disc i have yet to be able to replace is my 175g neutron inertia, for me it is my easiest disc to get distance with. thrown flat and hard its rides to the right and just sits, if i give it 60-70% power it flies DEADSTRAIGHT. and learned the other day doing field work if i put a little hyzer on it, it will flip flat ride straight turn slight right and then fade out. if i want effortless distance this is my GO-TO.

I just increased my drives by 25- 30 feet!!!!! I am still working on my releases which is important with this disc. Slower arms may notice a speedier turn,  but this is a fast disc with infinite glide and good control if released flat and on target. I am very pleased with the inertia, as it forces me to improve my drives; good for ams and pros!! This disc delivers!!!!  :)

    175G Neutron Inertia

This disc is tough to judge. On one hand - the understable nature of this disc makes it one of the easier drivers in the speed range to throw for beginners. On the other hand, for those with intermediate or better throwing power, this disc quickly silos itself into the turnover and roller categories. This disc gets 3-stars from me because with the correct snap, power, and wind conditions this disc can absolute cruise. In all other conditions, however, I could never get the dependability out of this disc that I could get from other discs with similar flight numbers. For what it is worth - I still bag this disc for longer hyzer flip turnover shots.

Has been a great disc for me as I've improved my distance game. It used to take everything I had just to get it to go straight and maybe turnover and now I can use it to hit accuracy lines when I throw it at 60-70%. I love the feel of the MVP discs in my hand and this is no exception. For me now its a little understable and slow for me.

I've had this disc for a while and only recently put it back into my bag.  It is the most steady driver in my bag.  When thrown hard and straight it will turn up and head lightly right for the first half of its flight before hooking up and gently fading left, and I mean gently.  Will easily hold hyzer lines and anhyzer lines alike.  Pound for pound the hardest working distance driver in my bag.

The first distance driver I've picked up that actually goes further for me. I"m presently a 300ft-ish thrower, so mostly avoid distance drivers. Not sure why I picked this disc up, but it consistently gets me an extra 25ft. Threw it into a headwind today looking for a left to right shot and not only got a nice loooong turnover, but finished ~20 feet past (and inline) a 309ft basket. Great straight driver if your above 270ft or so.

This disc is understable but great for beginners just learning. It flew very straight for me for a long time. Now I I have to be careful becuase I can throw it too hard and flip it over. I got very nice S shaped flights out of this disc very early on. I still use this quite a bit to get some nice long drives with a bit of a tailwind.

I am of the camp that thinks that throwing distance drivers before you can throw a fairway driver about 400ft is a bad idea.  Because of that, had I not been given this disc, I wouldn't have it at all.  Mine is a 158g Neutron in Pink.  This thing flips.  While that may have something to do with the weight, I believe it's really a matter of the design of it. It has a deep turn and a late fade.  So late, in fact, that it doesn't come back unless you give it a bit more height than normal.  I wouldn't call this a negative, really, but more of a reason for this disc to not be in the hands of beginners.  If you have a strong arm, but find that other distance drivers are a bit too overstable for your tastes, this disc will do you well.  If you're looking for a hyzer flip turnover disc, and you want to put it deep, this will fill that role.  If you have a very strong arm, you may even be able to turn this into a roller, though I have never done it.  Clearly, this disc has its uses, but I wouldn't use it for much more than that.

The Neutron Intertia was a nice flying disc! Out of the hand it has a nice predictable turn to it, good for flat and hyzer release shots, or large anhyzer turnovers. I preferred the Proton Intertia to the Neutron, but the difference was small enough that they get the same rating.

I liked the flight of the Inertia, reminding me of a Valkyrie. The flip was dependable for good hyzer-flip shots that would go straight forever, and that was my favorite part about the Inertia. It is a very dependable disc which is interesting considering it is somewhat understable.

I tried out the Inertia for rollers but only could get a cut roller out of it. For me, I would need something a little more understable, or to hit a few more trees with an Inertia for it to become my roller disc. Someone with a lot of power could potentially see great use in the Inertia as a roller disc, it has just enough stability that it can probably go forever.

Overall the Inertia is one of my favorite MVP discs. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of overmold technology. I have yet to find an MVP disc that feels good in my hand, so I can't give a perfect rating yet. I like the Inertia's flight path but the OT doesn't feel comfortable in my hand.

There is a lot to like about the Inertia. The grip is incrediby comfortable, the consistently flat profile makes it easy for most players to use, and the glide is surprisingly good for a disc so flat.

I have a lightweight one(157) and it will typically hyzerflip, turn quite a bit and then fade ever so slightly. Put a little anny on it and it's a backhand roller. Reminds me of a Mamba, but i think I might like it better. Would like to try a heavier one to see if it could fill the backhand distance driver slot for me. I liek the light one, but it's too flippy for most courses.

Got this as my free disc from the PDGA.  I had been avoiding MVP because the 2-plastic design felt like a gimmic to me, and i was sure that if you treed them a few times they would break.  I was wrong.  This disc is a super performer.  Throw it flat and with a good snap and this thing is a lazer and hits 275-300, and I'm only on my first season.  Last time out someone saw me tee of with it and he asked- "wow, that was straight! What was that?!"  Mines is only 160 grams, and I've not tried it in any kind of wind, but low and flat, this thing is the best disc in my bag.

Easily the most versitle disc i have ever put in my bag. I have only played for about 4 months now. I have thrown 2 aces with this disc, I have also touched chains and smacked the pole form  150+ ft countless times. I throw RHFH, but fount it to be enjoyable to thow angled RHBH to get around trees with this disc as well.

This disc can be thrown 200ft with little effort when thrown properly or bombed 350+ with practice. as long as you get the right ammount of spin on this disc and angle on this disc it will do pretty much what you want it to do every time(so long as there isn't a head wind).

I sadly lost this disc to it falling out of my bag, and i am going to buy two of them to replace it.

Light weight versions (< 160) can be turned over easily for long turnover shots or a roller.

First off put my plastic type as neutron but throw both for this disc. The inertia is a great disc for players who like a straight even throw compared to an s curve. Loved this disc out of my hand since day one and throw about 350' with it. Keeps the long straight path for forehand as well and will hold a heavy anyzer for a considerable distance. The proton seems to have more of a glide. Highly recommended for anyone's bag

After a great experience with the MVP Amp, I ordered an MVP Inertia from Infinite Discs.  Great service as always from Infinite Discs.  Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Inertia.  I have thrown this disc upwind, downwind, no-wind, uphill, downhill, sidehill, flathill, thrown it hard, easy and in between... and it is very overstable for me in all situations.  My Archons (also 11,5,-2,2), even the Champion plastic Archon, are nowhere near as overstable as the Inertia I have.  The Inertia is a reasonable 164g, as well, so weight is not an issue.

I read one of the other reviews of this disc here at Infinite Discs.com, and saw that MVP has consistency issues.  I think that this might be my problem, and that my Inertia is either incorrectly marked/labeled, or it's a "Bad Buddha" production run that just went too stable/overstable for what it's supposed to be.  In any case, I want to like the Inertia like I love the Amp, but I have other discs that perform better at this speed, so the Inertia is out of my bag, so sorry.

(Edited 5/6/15):  After working with the Inertia some more:  it's still very overstable for me but the distance is very good when I throw it in situations similar to when I go to my  Blizzard Boss (downhill, into the wind).  Defintiely at least an 11-speed distance, maybe more, and that's a very good thing about the Inertia.  I'm becoming a bigger fan of MVP and its line of discs, also.

Looking for an understable driver or a disc to get you to the end of a long tunnel shot?  This is it.  For RHBH throwers, throw it flat and get a nice, slow gentle turn to the right and a short fade to the left at the end of its flight.  Release it with a little hyzer and it pops up flat and goes straight as a rail.  Lots of glide in this disc and lots of flexibility in what you can make it do.  I prefer the Neutron plastic, but I also carry a Proton one in my bag because it seems to be a little more understable.  You won't regret buying this disc.

I enjoy this disc so much that I just picked up another one to give to a friend! I don't have the greatest distance (throw about 300), and this disc is really helping my game. It is definitely a fun throw.  I love watching it fly!

Picked up one of these disc on a trip to TN over the holidays and all I can say is WOW! This disc added distance to my throw and its a great mildly over stable disc. The look and feel of the MVP discs are really just spectacular!

This is one of my new favorites.  The Inertia is a disc that really rewards good form, but is also quick to punish bad form, which makes it great for new players.  After playing with this disc a lot and learning that to throw it to it's maximum potential you have to slow down a bit and not try to overpower it, I found it to be one of the most versatile discs in my bag. I use it for long backhand drives thanks to the awesome glide and flex shot flights that it consistently delivers, but now I also find myself forehanding it and using it for rollers.  The only thing this disc CAN'T do is disappoint.

I've been playing for a bit more over a year, on good days I throw 300ft, maybe more if the wind is right. I wouldn't recommend the Inertia for people who are JUST starting out, but it's definitively a fantastic disc who don't have full armspeed yet, like me.

It's my go to driver any time I have tailwind, it just sails, and sails, and sails. Great for long uphill throws as well. Don't throw it into headwind.

It's definitively one of my most valuable discs, I throw 166g neutron.

I recieved this disc in the awesome day glow pink. The disc looks great but it throws even better. I recently just set my personal best with disc of 420+. The inertia will glide for days with a flat release. And like all other MVP disc it feels great in the hand. Great disc!

One down side i have noticed about the MVP disc is that if put on a hyzer or anhyzer the disc will follow that and take  a very long time to come back if it does come back. A flat release is what will either make or break people's thoughts on the MVP disc. (just my opinion though)

2014 has been a great year for MVP. Finally adding real "distance" drivers to their lineup, the Inertia really sails. It is definately understable, making it more suitable for wide fairways. It is easy to maniuplate and carve long "S" curves, with a little practice. This disc will be in my bag for a long time, I'd say.

This is an excellent disk if your trying to get alot of distance in a short time, I like to flick this with alot of hyser and it shoots straight, fast, and long. this is my favorite disk and my main driver.

I have found that MVP has a slight issue with consistency with the flight paths of their discs.  Some will fly like they are supposed to some fly vastly differently.  But I do love the feel and the look of these discs.  My Inertia is a disc I love to throw.  Mine is not as understable as the flight path shows and is a nice Straight line disc.  A friend of mine with a different Inertia has one that is slightly more understable.  So be aware of that when you purchase a disc.  My biggest issue with MVP is that these discs are very slippery when wet.  So they are not ideal for use in wet weather.

This is my new straight line distance driver. With a smooth controlled throw with a level release aimed right at the target it will turn slightly off to the right for most of the flight and then fade back at the end landing in line with my aim point about 320 feet away. I test nearly every golf disc on the market, but it's pretty rare that I feel the keep a new disc in my permanent bag. After a few rounds with the Inertia, I bought me a nice Orange 171g Neutron to keep. I don't have a big arm, and can't handle any of the Big Rim drivers, so the moderate rim of the Inertia is perfect. There are other drivers that I can get more distance with, but this one is just more foregiving and more consistent for throws that aren't perfect for me. While this disc is primarily a backhand driver for me, the nice flat top and smooth neutron plastic allows me to get some killer forehand distance with a gentle flick at a Hyzer release. This disc is awesome. If you're an intermediate player looking for a forgiving consistent driver, get this one.

My Inertia is Yellow, 169 grams. What a disc! MVP has really knocked this one out of the park. First, the diameter of the disc is in the speed 10-11 range and the rim width is very small for a distance driver. This isn't a bad thing because I don't like big rims.

Secondly, MVP's Neutron plastic seems to be a little softer and gummier lately. This Inertia is flexible and you can dig into the flight plate nicely. My first two days with this disc, I couldn't get any good flights with it because it was more stable than I expected. After I got used to the flight and beat it in a bit, it started to turn more and not fade out as much when it lost speed. As others have said, you don't need to give this disc anhyzer to make it turn, unless you throw it really high, so that it can have the time to flatten out before hitting the ground.

For best success with this disc now, I give it a small amount of hyzer and rip into it. The flight is either a small or large turn depending on the wind and something strange I saw with this disc was that it really doesn't fade back much at all. It usually lands really flat and doesn't skip much. This disc can't be thrown sidearm very hard because it will flip into the ground, but for folks without much power, it might be a great sidearm disc. Because of the reduced fade on this disc, I gave a flight rating of -2 1. So looking forward to the other three distance drivers from MVP and it looks like the Tesla is next!!
