The Particle is a putter that was introduced in the 2017 MVP Circuit. This is a microbeaded, flat-top putter that leans towards the overstable side. The Particle is a great putter off the tee or for finding chains at close range. It can handle a lot of torque, which is great for high speed drives off the tee or for confident upshots. On longer putts, the Particle will fade towards the end of flight.

So this was my second Neutron Particle I tried, it still disappointed me. I keep hearing it is like an envy with a touch more stability however I find it is not. Envy's I can rip on and see it drift to the right and come softly back, less speed and it glides a long way with a gentle fade. The Particle I find when it has any wear to it the disc will turn. With power and the disc is almost a roller! If thrown high the fade will kick in to pull it back but it is almost a dump and will not do anything unless it has height. For throwing putters, get an Envy over a Particle, you will be happy you did.

Use this for my driving putter or to approach on a hyzer curve. I started using this disc for approaches since it seems to just stop upon hitting the ground. I like this disc because you can get a great grip on it and put a lot of power on it to get around a tree but know it's only going to go about 100 foot.

I keep this alongside an Anode for actual putting and the duo are deadly.

The Particle is similar to a Envy but when beat in it has more turn when thrown hard. Reliable fade that isn't to hard, feels good in the hand.

The Particle is a great overstable putter from the MVP line up. When it first came out, I bought one to test it out because I believe the MVP/Axiom/Streamline trio makes the best throwing putters in the game. I am a HUGE fan of the Axiom Soft Envy so I was anxious to see if this disc would be able to fill a slot in my bag right next to my Envy's. (I bag 3 Envy's) Did it make the cut? No. But that's not to say this isn't an outstanding disc. To me, it just had far too much overlap with the Envy for it to be added to the bag. If some ridiculous turn events happened where I lost all 3 of the Envy's in my bag (and the numerous other Envy's I have as backups) then this would definitely find its place in my bag... until I could get more Envy's. As I said, this is a great overstable putter, it's just too close to the Envy. Now, if you are a 100% MVP kind of thrower and you have to have the black rim... this is your Envy! Pick up a Particle, you will definitely enjoy throwing this thing off the tee!

Highly recommend this disc to anyone. In my opinion MVP/Axiom make the best throwing putters. I get incredible accuracy with this disc off the tee or with an upshot. I rarely use a midrange anymore as I can get much better accuracy and equal distance with this putter. It can handle a little wind too which is really nice. This is currently my favorite disc in the bag and I throw it any chance I get.

Okay so EVERYONE loves the envy from axiom. When I started throwing Gyro many people told me to check it out.... It never clicked with me. I wanted it to be a touch more stable..... Enter the PARTICLE!!!!!!! THE PARTICLE is the best throwing putter hands down. I am able to put a good pop into it and it'll go straight for about 280 ft than hyzer out. Everyone pick up a particle and have some fun!

I bought the particle with very little excitement. I liked the Envy and didn’t see the purpose of buying another putter that was numbered the same. All I know to say now is wow. Now I bag a particle and a neutron soft Envy. The particle I got is 174 grams and is more over stable than my Envy. The big surprise about the particle is the glide that mine has. On a flex shot I can bomb this thing a little over 300 foot. For me that’s amazing for a putter. To me the particle flies amazing. It’s found a great spot in my bag. If your looking for a overstable putter I highly recommended it. It’s not as beefy as a Zone but it gets the overstable job done. Everyone should have a under and overstable putter. This is a great overstable one.

This is very similar to the Envy-- It is a little flatter/thinner, maybe a little faster, and a little more dumping fade at the end.  It's not a LOT different, but it is different.  Teebird is to Teebird3 as Envy is to Particle.  I like it more because its a little thinner and closer to the Atom in feel.   Its not as OS as a Zone or Harp - In fact with my experience its not very OS at all.  I actually found it show a hint more turn than my Proton atom and just a touch more fade, but that fade occurs really late.  I tried to love this disc but its just not as High speed stable or Low speed stable as I'd prefer - I got 2 particles 174g neutron - I would give them 3/3/-0.25/and a late 2    - I really need the fade to occur a little sooner otherwise It's kinda pointless - on direct throws it just goes straight mostly and fade barely shows.   Maybe I got a couple early ones that arent as OS?  I dont know but I sold them and just Use Atoms and a Harp or Zone now.  It would be nice to see the Atom tweaked to be more HSS and LSS - the Particle is a big miss for me - its TOO similar to the atom with not being as good. It never really was more OS, even the formula 1/2 discs were basically identical then they realized the atom was better so made that - but didnt change the mold for the particle.  I feel they are still in need of an OS putter

This disc flies very similar to an Axiom Envy.  If you like low profile putters like the Axiom Envy, the Axiom Proxy, or MVP Atom you will really like this disc.  Like the Envy it is a very straight flying disc with a mild fade at the end of the flight.  The fade is more pronounced than the Proxy or the Atom.  I've tried many different discs and there's not really replacements for these discs from other manufacturers.  These discs have fairly flat tops which make them feel more shallow than even a low profile putter like the Latitude 64 Opto Pure which is more comparable to a Proxy than the Particle.

I highly recommend the Particle which I think I like even more than the Envy.  For me, the Proxy and Particle make a great combo.  If the Atom was available in Soft Neutron it might challenge the Proxy for a spot in the bag, might that is.  My Particle is a Neutron 172g disc.

As some have said this is a excellent driving putter. More overstable than an Ion. Nothing like a Aviar 3. Smaller diameter. A little understable compared to a Discraft Zone. Still working out when to use a Zone or this disc. Basically the same distance and fade. Neither disc turns on me when throwing  RHFH. This will go where you point it.  When an anny is used it will hold that line. Same with hyzer. The Zone will try to straighten out on an anny. Good flick disc. Feels good in the hand like a Zone. Low profile. Works well as a putter for me, but I still use Ion. Putters are a preference.

Not sure why they came out with yet another putter like this but this is another good one.  I'd say this is a very beat in Envy or a stable Proxy.  The rim would be somewhere in between those two discs too.  Great throwing putter, holds up to power just stays straight.  Out of the Envy, Proxy and this one this is my favorite and VERY beginner friendly.

Very strange putter. I've thrown MVP/Axiom putters before and never really been a fan, to be fair, so my general disinterest in the disc is not unexpected.

Its got a strange sort of trapezoidal figure to it...I'm not really sure how else to describe it. If you've ever thrown a Gateway Warlock, it FEELS very much like the profile of a Warlock (though it definitely doesn't FLY like one). Very over stable, requires quite a bit of spin to get it to fly properly. The Neutron plastic was also somewhat cumbersome and difficult to grip correctly; I assume MVP promoted this disc in Neutron to encourage us to use it to drive, but its really just too tall for that in my humble opinion. Neutron plastic also, again in my own opinion, is just not suited for sticking to chains...it seemed to bounce out when other putters most certainly would've stuck and fallen in. I also prefer beads on my putters, so all-in-all, the disc was just not my style.

Though, to be fair, it may be SOME people's style, which is why I hesitated before giving it a 3-star. I threw the Particle during a recent Circuit Challenge and it was really a thorn in my side, but this opinion (though popular among the participants) was not unanimous. The guy that ended up winning was on my card -- I played side by side with him -- and really the only difference between him and I was that he seemed to have a handle on the Particle and I just did not. Ultimately, when we were both in birdie range he would score and I would miss and take par. Eventually, I started using my mid-range (in electron plastic, by the way) of the three provided discs to putt...and started taking birdies again haha.

Now that I've dissed on it, the one thing I succeeded with in using this disc was wide straddle putts, hyzering to get around a tree -- very overstable putter. That saved me in some sticky situations.

Good driving putter, although I wasn't a fan of putt putting with it. It's a little more overstable. I'd compare it to an Aviar3. When you putt it'll fade decently quick, unless you get a ton of snap. It could be a good wind putter in that sense, but it just wasn't working for me very well (I'm used to glidey lofty putters).

For driving it was great. It doesn't flip over because it can handle a lot of torque. It just goes straight and fades off at the end. I could get it 300 feet on a good throw, so it's glide does shine when you actually throw it, but during putting it didn't seem to glide much for me.

The neutron plastic is better for driving, in my opinion, but I'm used to a stickier plastic for putting, so electron will be nice. It still should grab the chains about the same since the black rim is the same ole MVP rim stuff, whatever it is.

Anyway, great driving putter, probably comparable to an Envy. Not a fan of putting with it, but I could see it be useful for wind putts or for people that prefer an overstable putting putter.

I tested out the Particle with a combination of drives and putts at the basket. Just looking at this disc gave me reason to believe that it fits in with some of the faster, more overstable putt / approach discs that have become popular lately. It has a relatively flat top and a profile that makes me think that it belongs in a class with the Westside Harp or the Innova Aviar3, both of which are quite popular, but not as much for putting as they are for drives and approaches.  The inside rim of the Particle falls along the same lines, working comfortably for forehand flicks as well.

The Particle fit right into those expectations, flying rather well as a driving putter, even able to carry up to 300 feet in good hands (my son hit that distance regularly, though I didn't). I give it three stars, rather than higher, because those particular design features are also ones that I personally struggle with, and I don't really recommend them for novice players. As a putting putter, I really struggled with the Particle because I like my putters to be more understable and to fly straight with nice glide. The Particle doesn't take long before fading when thrown at lower speeds (like when putting), so I had to always throw it to the right of the basket, hoping to fade in. It also does not have much glide, so it dropped short and hit the bottom cage for me, over and over. I guess I don't putt with enough speed to keep this one straight.

While it gets great distances on drives, I also struggle when driving with the deeper rims on putters, since my fingers tend to snag those rims a bit too long and send the disc in the wrong direction.

So, if you're looking for a good putter as a beginner, I wouldn't recommend it. If you're a fan of the higher speed putters for approaches, particularly for flicking, then this might be the utility disc you're looking for. It definitely is the first of its kind from the MVP lineup.

I think MVP released the particle in neutron plastic because they were wanting to see if people would like to use it as a driving putter. Driving was probably this discs strength although it was a pretty consistent putt. If they were to release this in an electron plastic it would be a putter I would need to try out and see if I maybe wanted to bag it. The drives were nice on this one because even when I did turn it over it was usually overstable enough to come back. Putting was solid and consistent from within the 20-30 ft. range, but outside of that there was a little too much fade for me.
