After MVP discontinued several older mids, the Reactor is the first to be born from the ashes. The Reactor is a workhorse midrange, designed to follow any line and fill any slot in the bag. It will handle big hyzers as well as big turnovers. Tell it where to go, and it will listen. The Reactor has a "modern" midrange rim, and is the first in MVP's Next Generation of midrange discs.

The reactor has quickly become my favorite 5 speed. It is highly reliable and will not turn over on you like a buzzz often does. I still bag the buzzz as a turnover/ less stable option, but the Reactor is my primary 5 speed disc. I can comfortably throw this 275-280. Put it on hyzer and you can get a baby flip up and solid fade, on anni and it will hold for a bit then fight out. Throw it flat and hard and the flight numbers are true. Feels very comfortable in the hand and the glow is great too.

If you love the Hex but have trouble with it being just slightly too flippy try a Reactor. I started with one in a neutron plastic and loved it, but it eventually became a little less stable so I switch to an eclipse one and haven't looked back. A nice slightly stable disc that can be used on a variety of shots.

I have reactors in every plastic I could find, but this review is specifically for the eclipse reactor

First off, eclipse plastic is denser per the folks over at MVP so they are just more overstable in general. The reactor is no exception, it's not no turn and while it doesn't just dump like a pyro once it slows down it certainly finds its way to the ground.

I would not recommend this plastic specifically for beginners, though I have a somewhat different opinion about the fission and neutron versions. More on that later

Presently, I only bag reactors for mids. This particular one is my reliable overstable workhorse. Great in the wind, still goes pretty far, doesn't dump but takes a nice gliding finish hard to the left. Able to get some good skips out of it as well if thrown properly. Doesn't like to flip up when thrown hyzer, but will fight out if thrown on an anhyzer line.

I don't think any other manfacturer makes a mid range quite like this one, it's got a pretty permanent spot in my bag.

I have this disc in eclipse plastic which is fantastic.  One of the best glow discs I own.  Easily can find it, glows very bright, and holds the glow for awhile.  I would say this disc is a very good disc for that straight with a good fade at the end flight.  I haven't ever really got it to turn over much at all, it just goes straight for about 250-275 and then fades with a good finish.  It has a very smooth edge and feel, which leads to very good releases.  I can throw this on a FH as well with a very similar flight as I get with a BH.  I have this in my glow bag and find myself using it a lot.

I have always been a Buzzz guy. Last year, I decided to change up my bag and branch out to some new midranges. The two midranges that really stood out were the Hex and Reactor. The Hex flies really similar to a Buzzz SS when the Reactor was like the beefiest Buzzz you can find, but both give me a little more distance than a Buzzz. I'm not going to come out here and say either are better than a Buzzz, but they do give you similar performance with a smaller profile. The reason I made the change was simple: they feel better in my hand for forehands and cover more a wider range of stabilities.

If you haven't thrown a Reactor yet, I highly recommend it.

This is the best feeling midrange i ever feeled. period. Might be the best disc ever made... it glows so much i had to hide it away in my room bc it was lighting up the whole room and never dulled...it was kind of scary how glowing it was...you can seriously use it as an emergency light source if you need one...great mid range and great survival tool!!

This is probably my favorite midrange I've ever thrown. It has such a good flight to it and is very forehand friendly. I've never forehanded straight mids like buzzes cause they would flutter but this disc is so smooth on a forehand. Just to show how much i liked it, i put it in my bag and threw forehands with it in a tournament that same week. It also feels great in the hand

This disc is perfection! Was searching for something similar to the way my Proto Malta's fly. Dead straight with a baby bit of fade at the end, but more torque resistant. Perfect for headwind shots where you don't trust your hex. Pair this disc with a hex and a deflector and you've got all the mids you're ever going to need. Not only is the eclipse plastic super bright and charge extremely fast, it's got an amazing feel to it. Definitely going to buy some more

I have a max weight Ecplise Reactor.  First off, the Ecplise 2.0 glows amazing. It is extremely bright and holds a charge a long time.  I have the Reactor paired with a Hex as a slightly more stable version.  I use the Reactor when I really want to crank on a straight mid without it burning over like the Hex would, or I use it in a headwind for a shot that I would normally use a Hex for.  Also works well as a soft forehand mid.

I love this disc.  It has found a spot in my bag for sure.  I'll do the normal thing here and compare it to the buzzz.  They aren't the same disc. The rim shape on both is very similar so if a buzzz feels good to you the Reactor will too.  The Reactor's rim is slightly wider but shallower which I think makes it a faster disc.  I certainly get better distance with my reactor by a consistent 20-30 feet.  The glide on the Reactor also seems a bit higher than the Buzzz but its not a huge difference.  I have this disc in both Fission and Eclipse plastic.  The Eclipse plastic is a bit more overstable than the numbers say, maybe like a really stiff esp Buzzz or moonshine emac truth, but even so its not a meathook, a full power rip with this disc flies dead straight without even even hint of turn before fading reliably at the end.   Its very reliable in the wind and holds up to to full power forehand as well.  My Fission one is a little straighter with less fade at the end which is pretty similar to a flat top Z Buzzz.  Its also a bit more workable and perfect for those tight wooded lines holding whatever angle you release it on for a long way.  I've thrown Buzzes for years and this is the disc that finally bumped it out-of the bag.

This disc is quickly making me transition to MVP discs. I got this disc in a tournament in the eclipse glow and was mainly getting the disc to start playing glow rounds. For glow rounds you can just carry this single disc as its great for straight consistent shots and easy putts. I've started throwing this disc over my buzz and have taken my mako 3 out of my bag. It's very easy to throw straight with reliable fade or with a little anhyzer flex it goes dead straight. Its very forgiving and has become my favorite mid range.

Best workhorse mid on the market. The only mid I like better is the Hex. I bag this in the eclipse plastic though I have thrown it in neutron as well. The eclipse is much more stable and kicked my runway out of the bag while the neutron is better for cycling.

For reference, I throw my reactor for anything 300-350ft where I need a reliable overstable finish.

I have bought 3 of these at different times from different sources and find them all to be substantially more stable than their factory flight numbers.

That being said, I absolutely love my reactors. They are perfect for accurate hyzer shots and stand up to a surprising amount of OAT. They are very easy to get a clean release on and can be thrown with all the power you can muster without turning over. No flash and they just feel so good in the hand. They are also quite glidey, meaning you can get them out to distance pretty easily. I don't see this as a beginner disc as it requires some power to get flying straight.

TLDR: I'm addicted to this disc in glow plastic, most fun night rounds I've ever played.

I LOVE this disc. I have it in both eclipse 2.0 and neutron from the holiday mystery box.

Glow: I have to praise the new eclipse glow, it is amazing. When thrown 5-10 feet of the ground, it glows bright enough to light up the ground under it as it flies. It holds a bright charge for 5-10 minutes, but then holds an average charge (which is still brighter than innova or moonshine plastics) for 5-6 hours at least. Its so bright I charged a disc with this disc. Basically the coolest disc I've ever played with and I can't wait to fill a night bag with more Eclipse 2.0 when they are released.

Feel/durability: It has bounced off a number of trees, fence posts, guide wires, and baskets with no visible damage or changes in-flight characteristics. So as best I can tell the durability is great and this disc will hold up for a while. It still has a solid grip even when cold, really can't find any complaints about it.

Flight: Comes out of the box perfectly stable. Meaning basically no matter the speed I throw, it holds the line. After a little break-in, when released with my full power and flat it rides gently to the right before fading out around 360'. Performs well into a headwind as well. Both plastics seem to perform about the same.
