    500 Details

500 Plastic was development over a considerable period of time to formulate a blend based upon player feedback. It has a stiffer, less gummy feel than 400 Plastic. The 500 blend provides an extremely confident grip on the firm, yet flexible flight plate. It also provides a very solid feeling rim.

My favorite go to fairway/distance driver!

Out of the box has a very reliable fade perfect for fighting headwinds or for approaches.

This disc also beats in overtime making it fly straight for longer!

I personally love this disc, and its fits perfectly in my hand for forehands. The overstability of this disc makes for good flex lines, backhand this disc does just fine!

As for plastic types I would recommend 500 or 500 x-out if your on a budget.

I've tried Raptors, Firebirds, Felons, and FD3's. Out of all of those, this is the one that has fit my game the best. It's pretty overstable, especially in 500 or 750 plastic. With the other discs above, they tended to be too overstable on forehand for me. I like to be able to give forehand shots a some hyzer, I'm not a huge fan of flat to anhyzer release on forehand. Those discs are too overstable and will just dump out and go nowhere. The FX-2 has a bit more glide than your typical overstable fairway, which I enjoy.

I'm knocking it down a couple notches though because of the inconsistency from run-to-run and plastic-to-plastic. I've had 400 FX-2's that are as overstable as brand new Lucid X Felon's, while I've had 400 FX-2's that fly almost like a teebird. It's pretty inconsistent. Also the flashing on any of the 500 FX-2's I've had has been quite a bit worse than any other prodigy mold. Not sure why that's the case.

Found this bad boy in 500 plastic in the Play it Again used rack, and it immediately make me forget about needing a Thunderbird.  It's extremely trustworthy for those oft-needed hyzer lines, and while the grip was initially different from what I was used to, it only took a few throws to realize that not only was it to be trusted when trust was most needed, but the feel soon became as natural as any other disc (most Innova) that I carry.  Probably not ideal for beginners (unless they are simply looking for a disc that looks remarkable), but as time goes by this type of disc becomes more and more useful.

First and foremost, if you are new to the game and are about to pick this disc up. Stop, this is not the disc for you. The turn is none existent, maybe if you use this disc with 400 plastic for five years. You'd finally see it. But this disc is the fairway version of the a2 and a3.

I also agree, these dsics when new will tear up your hand. By far the sharpest edges on a disc I've ever felt. Once used for a little while those sharp edges with smooth out.

The fx2 is perfect for heavy fade shots and flex shots. It will be a disc that you will not worry about over turning. Something that 9 speeds often have issues with. All in all fun disc to use.

I've been waiting for prodigy to come out with a disc like this. I got the Fx-2 in 500. I would say it is more OS than their H1v2,which for me, had the a bit of turn out the box. The Fx-2 had no turn out of the box. I would say this disc falls somewhere between a Firebird and an Fd3, similar to a Sexton Firebird. The Fx-2 has a surprising amount of glide given the stability. Something to note is the rim feel, it is somewhat unique. I don't have any issues with it like others seem too. Overall I love this disc.

This disc is basically the Innova eagle's big brother. Throw it hard and it will go nice and far with a predictable fade. Tone the power down a notch and it's great for spikes. This disc is overstable enough that it is predictable in windy conditions but not so overstable that it's hard to work with in calm weather. I also love the deep rim on this disc. I think that's really a preference thing so I'd definitely recommend checking one out at a shop so you can feel it in your hand before buying. Overall it's a workhorse and I see why Chris Dickerson throws his so often. I'm stoked to have this in my bag.

    I have 4,

I got one and loved it so much I bought a back up. I became so reliant on this disc that when I lost one I immediately bought two more. Last week I got my original back. So I'm up to 4.

All this to say that I love the FX-2 in 500 plastic. I throw an all prodigy bag and was missing what this disc brings to the table. It's an overstable Fairway that I trust. It's what I had hoped the F1 would be. I used to throw a FAF Firebird, and while they aren't the same they're very similar. Where they differ is the glide. the FX-2 doesn't hook up so fast or so hard, which makes for long penetrating hyzers. I'm not sure where the stability numbers I see here are coming from because I cant flip it. I generally throw it with full power and it might pop up to flat but it doesn't turn, and it always has that stable finish that I was looking for.

The only "negative" I might mention is more of a "just so you know". It has a deeper rim than any other driver I've held, which made it a bit weird to throw for a while. Once you get used to it though it is a great forehand or backhand driver.

As for the plastic, 500 is a beast all it's own. It has a stiff flight plate, and a solid rim. I've never felt anything like the under side though. It's almost... sandpapery? It's a great feel and it definitely performs in the rain.

TLDR; Fast, Beefy, Deep Rim, Texture Underneath

My favorite new mold to my bag this year! I love throwing forehands and backhand flexes with this thing. I don't have the arm to throw this very far on hyzer all the way, but I often find myself reaching for my FX-2 in spots where I maybe otherwise would be ripping on an OS mid range. I feel more under control with my FX-2. Also a great spike hyzer disc.

The first thing you notice about this disc is the feel on the bottom. The top is smooth and shiny, much like you'd expect. However, the bottom is still smooth but dull, almost slightly textured. I personally love the feel. There is no "flashing" to sand down on this disc, which is great. I feel like, whatever they are doing to manufacture it like this should help each disc be more consistent and fly how the disc was designed to fly. Will find out after I test a few.

On to the flight... everything I've seen about this disc is right on. I've been looking for a Prodigy disc to fit between the original H2 and the H1V2. This hits that spot. I get more distance out of this than my H2 but still have the consistency despite the wind. It seems more over stable than my H1V2 (I've only had one H1V2 to compare it to). I like it for sidearms, feels very similar to the H2 (deeper feel), but again more distance and not so much dump. If you're a Prodigy fan, I think this is a must to try out.

I ordered the FX-2 after reading about it online. The most interesting this about it is the feel. The top is slick like your typical premium plastic and the bottom is a little bit rougher and unfinished. I felt strange but I didn't notice it when I threw it so that was good. I was curious as to how it would match up to my F1s because I throw those all the time. This is significantly more overstable then any of my F1s. I used to have a very flat, stiff F1 that was almost as overstable. It's overstability is a good thing though because it is a very forward progressing fade. It doesn't just dump and die. I can get it similar distances as my F1s, pretty comfortably out to 300. This disc flies on a good flex line that holds for a solid amount of the flight before fighting out and fading left of center. I could imagine this disc can handle a crazy amount of power. It's taller then all the discs I like to forehand but I would imagine if you had bigger hands this would work great for that. If you love to throw hyzers, have a lot of power, or like to play in the wind a lot, this is a disc you would love!
