The Kiwi is designed as a steady, dependable fairway/distance driver crossover, for a variety of shots. With more power it flies stable to moderately overstable. With a controlled release at moderate speed, it has a steady, workable fade that you can count on. This is a great driver in the hands of experienced or inexperienced players.

One of the worst discs I've ever used. Way to overstable and barely flies. It's the first disc that i was happy to lose. Don't buy this one!

this is a VERY overstable fairway, more OS than any firebird I've thrown. So definitely more of a utility disc than one you'd be throwing off every tee. However it does it's job very well, so if you're looking for a very OS skippy, scramble, utility disc the kiwi could be just the thing.

Summary: This is the most fun disc that I own, and one that will absolutely humble you.

Feel: The Cosmic plastic is RPM Discs super durable premium plastic, having great stiffness even in the flight plate. The shape is fantastic, like a Firebird that's got a little extra height above the wing. The width is just a tad uncomfortable for my personal feel, but that would never stop me throwing it.

Flight: Fades. It's got some flight to it, but this disc just loves to fade. I like to use this disc as a baseline for form work, if you're throwing farther than it'll fly just a little longer. Feels like you can throw it into a 15 mph headwind and it still won't flip up.

My get out of jail free card! This is RPM's most OS disc. I say it's a 10 speed. 10, 3, 0, 4. It is the definition of beef. Which means for me, it doesn't come out every round. But when it does, it's because it can do things that no other disc in my bag can do. On windy rounds I lean HEAVILY on this disc. I can't throw it very far. But for utility slots like big skip shots and steep hyzers - FH and BH - this disc is MONEY.

This is a great utility disc for shots needing a ton of fade, especially skip shots.

What keeps me from giving it a 5 is that it does not fly anything like advertised. This flies like a higher speed Justice or Mutant and is probably only a utility disc if you don't have pro-level arm speed. For reference, I can get up to around 320ft backhand with an Opto Sapphire or Gold Saint for max distance or around 270 ft on controlled drives, and I would need to do some measuring to know whether I can throw my Kiwi 200 feet.

I agree with one of the earlier reviews that this is a complete meathook that fades right out of the hand. Probably more overstable than my I-Blend Scepter, very used Sexton Firebird, Opto Felon, or Gateway Spirit.

This disc is crazy over stable. Took me awhile to learn how to throw this wild thing. But after some effort I feel like it's great for grenades and super high Flippy shots. The disc also has a great skip when thrown at a low angle with a huge hyzer flair at end

Holy cow! I mean... holy bird! This disc is extremely overstable! If you are one of those players who HAVE to have an overstable version of the Firebird in your bag but don't want to sell your non-throwing arm to get one, you need to grab a Kiwi! The newly retooled Kiwi is absolutely outstanding for a sidearm player. If you end up getting one of the older run Kiwi's you will know with the first throw as they were originally designed to be understable. After RPM retooled it to make it overstable, it is the complete opposite end of the spectrum. It is great for sidearms, great on windy days, great for skips, and absolutely perfect for when you want to get around something. As for the feel in the hand, it is fairly similar in the hand to what an FX-2 feels like but without sharp edge that feels like you are going to require stitches after a full round with it. Most of the Kiwis I have seen are super flat on the top and while they are a 10 speed, they will still fit that slot of a Firebird, FX-2, or Felon because of how OS it actually is. After putting the Kiwi in the bag, I will never have a need for a different OS Fairway or lower speed Distance Driver. This disc is pure beef! As many of the reviews have alluded to, this disc is very overstable and requires a pretty fast arm to get any distance out of it. It has an unusually shaped rim compared to most fairway/distance drivers. Feels like a hybrid between a driver and a midrange, with an almost sharp bead and rim. I really want to like this disc because it is just beautiful to look at, i just am not able to throw it well.  The stamp is really cool, and the plastic has a very premium feel to it. I love RPM discs, so I've got to say I'm disappointed that it is so overstable. It hooks into the ground almost immediately.

Bought this disc because it was on sale and the stamp is gorgeous. Absolute meat hook, more over stable than my felon. Can't get any real air distance out of it at my arm speed but it's excellent for distance flick rollers.

For me this disc is tricky. I think you need a lot of power to unlock good flight characteristics on longer shots. I hated it for a while, but it has become a great utility disc for me. If I need to get out of trouble and around a corner I can throw this disc low, flat, and hard and get reliable skip/flare. Stronger arms may have better luck driving with this disc as it fades hard for me.

This review is for the Cosmic plastic.

So I see a lot of the reviews saying this disc is under-stable, but mine is most definitely not! I don't know if they changed the mold or the plastic or what, but I bought this disc because people were saying it was more under-stable than the numbers suggest. The disc I have is very stable nearing over-stable.

I by no means have the strongest arm, but I throw a Westside Sword all the time and a Innova Dominator. Despite both those disc being rated a much higher speed, neither shows the extreme fade I experience with this disc. I have to give this disc everything I have just to keep it strait for a while before it's hyzering on me.

I've been using this disc to practice my forehand where my lack of skill tends to cause my disc to turn over (because my angles are all off). This disc is so stable it doesn't matter how much angle i have on the disc when I release it, it will always flatten out.

My main gripe with the disc is the how deep the lip is. It's much deeper than my other discs, which I find uncomfortable for my hand. If that's what you're looking for though, RPM drivers seem to share that characteristic.

I bought my disc end of Aug. 2020. Like I mentioned, they must of changed the production because I experienced none of the flippiness people have commented about.

Oh and the disc looks great! I swear RPM has the best stamp designer in the biz!

So I definitely got the retooled Kiwi when I was actually hoping for the less stable version.  This is definitely stable to overstable and fades left almost directly after I throw BHRH.  I'm mainly using it for forehands until I can beat it in and see if it becomes more of a straight flyer.  I do love the plastic and the grip on this.  Hopefully it can turn into a straight flyer either when I beat it in or get my arm speed up a little bit.

Flippier than the numbers suggest, and very sensitive to wind. I find it a little too unpredictable, and too understable for use as a tee off driver. More of a long roller disc. No use in the wind.

It's a good mid and approach disc though, also not bad as a forehand disc if like me you're weak FH.

Given my moniker, I was really hoping to like the Kiwi. Picked up a nice, blue 175g Cosmic disc, and took it to my local course. First impression: sweet lord is this thing understable. I could maybe put 50% power into it before it started flipping over like crazy. However, the disc feels fantastic in the hand and the plastic is very durable, so it will slot nicely as a roller for people with a bit more power. Super beginner friendly, though.

My friend recently purchased this disc for me and I must say, it's a new favorite. The numbers match what's advertised to a tee. Plus, the grip is amazing! I love discs that are a little floppy. They help me with my weaker grip :)

On a slight hyzer, this puppy will flip up straight and soar! I've only thrown it a few times and most of the shots were on open fields where you can toss huge hyzers, but I forsee this thing performing very well in many conditions.

I definitely look forward to continued success with this bad boy.

I must say that the Kiwi flies exactly as advertised. It is a great cross-over driver between fairway and distance, and can be used either way. For shorter, precision shots you can count on a little more fade. When thrown with more power, it goes dead straight for an impressive distance. I would say that it it is a driver that could be used from beginner up to advanced, for a multitude of throwing options. I did try to throw the Kiwi on a high anhyzer to see if it would turn and glide to the understable side, but it faded back. So I wouldn't see it is a massive understable disc that is going to flip every time, though I'm sure power throwers could flip it if they try hard enough.

As a straight driver, designed to be thrown at speed 10, I'm very impressed with the Kiwi's performance. This is a great addition to the RPM lineup, and as always, the plastic looks and feels awesome.

The Kiwi was in my cart before I was even done reading the description. RPM has been one of my favorite brands and I’m always excited to get my hands on their new discs. I got in in cosmic plastic and it is 174 grams.

Appearance: I’ve said It before and I have no problem saying it again. RPM has some of the nicest plastics on the market hands down. Right out of the box, this disc is very pretty, as all RPM discs are. The stamp is well made and beautiful as always. The metal flakes (not actually sure if they are that or not) make the disc pop too. It has a flat top and a standard 10-11 speed rim. The top is actually almost concave, but not in a bad way. I can usually elaborate more on the appearance, but the Kiwi is a relatively normal 10 speed.

Flight: The numbers are right on the money for this one. On a good throw, I can get it just as far as my Kahu XG. It turns a little and comes back slightly harder. as the -1 turn and 2 fade imply. This is one of my favorite flight patterns in the game. I love when I can throw a disc about as hard as I can, and it will sail with control.

Similar discs: It falls into this category that I think of as a “do all” type. What I mean by that is you can throw it for any and all types of 280-400ft shots. It is a very versatile disc category. My favorite disc is Discmania’s CD2 (similar to a thunderbird if you haven’t thrown them), and the Kiwi is very similar, but with no dome. I would probably compare it more to the Latitude Culverin, but the Kiwi’s rim is much more comfortable. Almost every RPM disc is a total mold breaker, but this one is not so much, and that is totally fine.

Overall: RPM continues to deliver fantastic products! This probably won’t end up making it in the bag because nothing can replace my CD2s. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the flat top. This is totally a personal preference. I find the flatter top discs tend to be more inconsistent when thrown forehand. I found that when I threw it backhand it was fantastic, but when I threw it forehand, it would flip much more. Throwing it forehand gave it an entire number more turn in my opinion. It goes from a -1 to at least -2. It honestly grinds my gears when discs aren’t consistent when being thrown forehand or backhand. Don’t get me wrong, I could throw it forehand, and it works, but I dislike having the mindset of how the disc throws differently. I think this off-balance is because of the low profile. Other discs, like my CD2s are more consistent when thrown either way. If you like flatter top discs, then the Kiwi will make an excellent addition to your bag.
