The Discmania DD3 is the new disc for distance. Eagle McMahon crushes this disc down the fairway. The "Cloudbreaker" is the title name for the Swirly Star Signature edition. This is a reliable, max-distance driver for the more advanced arms that may still offer some extra distance to intermediate players as well.

I nabbed a yellow one of these S-DD3s and it is

    D O M E Y

Which, to me, is great. Definitely gets some high speed turn and a gentle low speed fade. This immediately became my go to "destroyer clone".

So, I picked up a yellow one of these and it is

    D O M E Y

Which, to me, is great. It's suuuper glidey. The S-Line certainly has less high speed stability than C-Line, but I think they compliment each other well.

This is a great bomber disc. It starts off true to the flight numbers, carries straight for a long time, and has a reliable fade. But once broken in this disc has plenty of turn but manages to straighten out and fade if you give it enough height. This is a great 1st distance drive for newer arms

Picked one of these up recently to give it a shot. I've been throwing forces, zeuses, octanes, and cloudbreakers for a while now, and have to say that this disc is not in the same catagory as any of those drivers. This is the furthest disc in my bag by a good margin, but the numbers do not reflect the actual flight. This disc does not hold up to any wind faster than 5 mph, and there is significantly less fade than the 3 suggests. 12/6/-1.5/2 if you ask me. Much more accessible for newer players than a force or a cloudbreaker, and definitely a bit less high speed stable than both octanes and zeuses.

I havent tried any of the non-Innova made S line DD3's, but I can say this is one of my favorite distance drivers.  Its a very straight, early run destroyer in its flight, which allows me to hyzerflip or flex them with decent effort.

Light weights go far and max weights can provide a reliable flex shot distance driver.

Easier to throw for me than the Cloudbreaker (the plastic seems to make them more beefy).

    Overall, awesome disc.

These are great if you are a forehand player and turn stuff over very predictable flight path. Once they get beat in you will notice you furthest drives with these. Amazing disc. If your very new to the sport beginners can find themselves use out of these discs to get some crazy hyzer flights if you don't have the big arm speed.

As good as it gets for distance drivers. Predictable fade and can hold some turn when you get it up to speed. S-line plastic feels great and takes a dye well.

It's definitely going to fade out early if you don't get it up to speed, so not recommended for beginners.

This disc is accurate to the numbers and flies very consistently. It feels great to throw but I don't yet have the arm speed to get it to turn over yet. I'll reevaluate this review once I get more throws in with it and get better technique.

I love how the DD3 is very reliable on a RHBH shot and that it does what the numbers say it should do - slight turn, great reliable fade. This disc is fast, and I think slightly fast than the 12 speed it advertises. It took me a while to build up the arm speed and form to get this disc to perform correctly, but once done it flies forever. Make sure to give it all you got and watch it glide. Great for open long drives.

This disc is exactly what it is advertised as, a fast and overstable distance driver. This can handle any amount of power you put on it backhand or forehand. Out of the box, it is really overstable and will not have much turn at all unless you rip it flat into a headwind. Once it gets seasoned a little bit more, it will fly for days. This is a no nonsense distance driver that will do exactly what it says it will do.

This review is for the stock Innova produced S-line DD3, and not for CB1s, CB2s, or Discmania made DD3s.

The DD3 is a "Destroyer class" max distance driver. It is not a beginner disc. Don't try to learn on this, or the only thing you will learn to do is to throw with a forced turnover. Once you get to the 400ft area, these are a great 12, 5, -1, 3 driver. They're all kind of crazy OS brand new. You really have to season them pretty well to get that exceptional flight. It's a thing of beauty once your form is there, and the disc is perfectly broken in. I love these for super long flex lines past 400ft, or Hyzer shots under 400 depending on what the course calls for.

I like the feel in the hand of the DD3 compared to other similar discs. I have fairly large hands with long skinny fingers. It is definitely high speed. So if you aren't quite able to make the line you want, maybe bump down a little in speed or up in glide to a CD3 (Discmania's Wraith like disc) or an Enigma ( a glide-ier flippy-er DD3...sorty of).

Similar discs are the Destroyer, Emperor, Scorpius (allegedly an old Destroyer mold), Zeus, and D1/D2 depending on the run. There is a decent variance in different stock DD3s and their flat/dominess, stability, fade, and sometimes even the feel of the plastic. This is the only reason I have it as a 4 star disc.

Personal anecdote- One of the best discs I've ever bagged was a white stock S-Line DD3 (Innova made). I loved this disc, and it was my max distance driver. For whatever reason this thing had insane glide. I threw a super long drive, so long that it blasted past the basket into a river. I looked and found another just like it down to the stamp color. Once it broke in it was exactly the same. Until I lost that one. I can't find the same one again, but have many other DD3s in pink, blue, red, yellow, and even white. They're all more OS to varying degrees. I haven't quite found that another to replace my early white DD3 with teal stamp.

Threw a 174 S Line DD3. Has a good amount of stability. Keep in mind I only throw about 330 max consistently. Had a reliable fade for me. For bigger arm friends it has slight turn but then consistent fade. Can't wait for Innova to come out with it again so I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for misprints even.

    Disc - (2) 175 Discmania S-Line DD3

Feel - The Discmania dd3 feels very comfortable in the hand, very similar to the ever popular innova destroyer. S line plastic is very grippy as it is very similar to innova star plastic.

Flight - The 2 DD3s that I have are a bit more overstable than the destroyer. I really enjoy this fact as it seems to be ever more difficult to find destroyers that are overstable enough to not turn. I love the dd3 for shots that aren't super overstable but won't turn and still has good glide. When I need a controlled distance shot, this is what I'm reaching for as it still goes far but is more consistent.

Overall - Not sure if all dd3s fly like mine do but I love that the dd3s are a bit more overstable than most destroyers

Maybe it's just a placebo effect going on for me, but for some reason I am much more consistent with a dd3 in my hands when compared to a destroyer. The flight path and flight numbers are supposed to be similar, but I just throw discmanias version of the disc more consistently. I do enjoy throwing destroyers, but whenever I am having an off day with them I grab this disc and can always count on it, especially in head wind. The disc is what I want the destroyer to be. The placebo for me may just be with discmania because I am loving every disc I've thrown from them. I have the S-Line dd3 at 168 grams. I always count on this disc. When I try to bomb this backhand, it takes a very good anhyzer shot but it is certainly attainable with this disc. The forehand shots are always reliable for me as well and always dump overstable after some pretty good glide. Backhand hyzer shots are useful in situations I need a spike hyzer or wide hyzer shot. All in all, this disc is great and definitely can be manipulated to aid someone's game tremendously. However, the only time I recommend a beginner throwing this is on flick shots or at a very light weight (which I don't even know is available). Great disc!

One of the best distance drivers if you have the arm speed. (At least 450) The -1 turn becomes very apparent when you really torque up on it. If you throw it on a little hyzer it will flip up to flat and have a nice s curve and dump at the end. If thrown flat it will hold right for about 70% of the flight then dump at the end. Would 100% recommend if you are looking for a new max distance driver. Would not trust in a very hard head wind though.

I have been loving throwing DD3's! In my bag, I throw an Infinite Discs Pharaoh or an old Destroyer for my absolute max distance shots. However, I have found myself reaching for the DD3 whenever there's some headwind present. My other two discs don't hold up to the headwind nearly as well.

As many have pointed out, this disc is not going to be a max distance driver for middle-of-the-pack arms, but it can still be useful for people with that sort of arm speed. But don't expect it to be flippy like Eagle and Simon make it look!

I bought a couple Cloud Breakers but found they were too overstable for my abilities. Then I got an S-line DD3 from a Discmania Mystery Box and was completely shocked at how much more manageable it was. The discs are identical in shape, weight, stiffness, and dominess, but for some reason the DD3 is just not as overstable as the Cloud Breakers.

I've got a Z Force, this S-line DD3, and a Fuzion Trespass at the top end of my bag, and I have a feeling once this DD3 breaks in sufficiently, it will bump the Trespass out when I add a fresh DD3. It's a great disc, and I'm very glad I got it in that mystery box since I wouldn't have tried it based on my experience with the Cloud Breaker.

    S-Line DD3 175g:

The feel of the disc and the S-Line plastic is amazing. It is grippy, the rim is very comfortable, and the disc has some dome, but is not pop toppy. I rated the discs with a turn of 0 as its out-of-the-box flight rarely demonstrates any turn.

Thrown flat at full power, the DD3 will travel straight and fast, I cannot get the DD3 to demonstrate too much high speed turn, but may turn a little. The fade came a lot earlier and a lot harder than I had anticipated. That being said, the DD3 will still get me past the 400ft mark consistently, but is not the furthest flying disc in my bag, and probably won't be until it beats in a little.

The main characteristics that sells me on the DD3 are the comfortable feel in the hand, and the tight and predicable flight. The DD3 has a tight flight, with the predictable fade that allows you to get desirable flights out of the disc, even in the woods.

This disc is by far my favorite distance driver in my bag. It also is the furthest flying disc in my bag because of the reliable fade at the end of the flight. Many people would choose the Innova Destroyer over these because of the popularity that the destroyer has, but destroyers tend to have different flights vary for each disc. Most of the DD3 that I've used are very similar to each other and I can count on them having a consistent flight toward each disc.

Discmania's DD3 seems to be yet another disc modeled after Innova's Destroyer. Seeing as how Discmania's discs are made by Innova, the resemblance is unmistakable. Holding a Destroyer and DD3 up to each other I was unable to discern any differences.

My DD3 is regular S line (not a Cloudbreaker), 175g. The disc has a noticeable dome, much larger than most star Destroyers.

Honestly, this particular DD3 flies better than 99% of star Destroyers I've tried. The DD3 has a perfect amount of high speed turn, which results in some brilliant S curve bombs. The disc also has just enough late fade to bring it back late in flight. The glide is excellent, and the flex/fade part of the flight is more prolonged with the DD3 than with a Destroyer. Basically it has a MUCH less dumpy late fade.

Distance is superb. I was getting a solid 430' out of the DD3, which is as much or more than my best star Destroyer shots.

Overall, the DD3 is outstanding. For me it flies like a gently beat in star Destroyer. It holds the high speed turn for a long time without being flippy. It flexes out for big distance before gently fading late. This disc is a great option for guys who want to throw a Destroyer, but want something just a tiny bit mellower. The DD3 is exactly such a disc. I found the DD3 good for shots in the 375-400' range. Its an accurate driver that can easily slide into anyone's bag in place of a Destroyer. Discmania got this one right.

    Great disc!

I was pleasantly surprised by the s-line DD3.My current go to drivers are the MVP Dimension and Ricky star destroyer for backhand. The flight of the DD3 was more over stable than the Ricky destroyer and Very similar to the MVP Dimension .The DD3 has a very straightforward flight with Monster skips and tons of glide. The distance of the DD3 is suprising ,with a straight flight  the DD3 was getting the same distance as the Ricky destroyer on a flex line. I throw PD2's and Firebirds sidearm ,the DD3 can handle a considerable amount of power sidearm .For me sidearm it produces a full flex flight with great distance. With some fieldwork I believe the DD3  will become my go to for distance. If you like destroyers or any 11 speed and up discs. I would highly recommend trying a DD3,it's a very versatile disc.

2019 was the year of the revised Destroyer. Everyone on the market is trying to buy in on that mold/segment and the DD3 has another entry into that role. The DD3 has a reasonably wide rim to it, not maximum width but substantial. Most DD3's i've seen near max weight are pretty flat but it seems like the lighter weight ones are dome-y. I generally throw these in max weight for the most overstability I generally throw these in S-line max weight but have thrown the swirly ones and noticed very little difference.

The DD3 is designed to be more of a work horse driver in the 350-450 range distance throwers as they will find this disc has some high speed turn but a smooth fade both forehand and backhand. These feel much closer in flight to a Ricky Era Destroyer than the old 4x Mcbeth Destroyers which were more stable. I found in my testing that these have pretty good glide and manage great distance, with the strong fade at the end I feel comfortable throwing these as hard as possible without any fear of them getting turned all the way over when they're fresh. This disc forehand is overstable enough to be forgiving but not so overstable that it requires flex to fly straight which was refreshing in a mold this fast. Long flex shots with this are really are my favorite with this disc you can really maximize the glide and distance with this mold and it is probably the second furtherest flying disc for me on this line. This disc performed well in overhand shots, while i couldn't maximize the distance i found that those i play with who had a more powerful overhand could get these to go very far with a slow pan.

As far as wind fighting goes this disc is very workable in the wind. Headwinds will generate some extra turn with this disc but unless you are getting winds over 25mph this disc should do find. Tailwind wise this disc has great glide but the starting stability for this disc out of the box is not ideal for them, as they season they'll be tailwind bombers though.

This disc is really not beginner friendly i find that it is a bit too fast and overstable to be of much use outside of those who have a background with sidearm or overhand.

Overall the DD3 meets the status quo for the Destroyer replacement. I have found it to be very workable in comparison to the old destroyers and PD2's of yesteryear and while its plastic types are more limited I found this disc to be very useful in my bag. At the end of the day you can really interchange these with a Ricky Destroyer or the Infinite Discs Emperor and I would say to cap off my review of the 3 this revision to the mold was much needed for the amateur side of the game.

The dd3 is a new staple to my bag. These things BOMB! This disc can do everything for me. Hyzer flips that hold and glide, flip ups to flat that get a lot of distance then fade left and long distance bombs that turn the whole way. To me, these are a spot on clone of some pop top bottom stamp destroyers I used to have. Amazing driver.

If you've found yourself puzzled about why destroyers all fly differently off the shelf, worry no more. The DD3 is practically a destroyer, but more consistent from disc to disc. Over the years I've had well over a dozen destroyers go in and out of my bag, most of which were brand new. Each one however was distinctly different from the next so you never really knew if you were picking up a beefy overstable one or a long straight flyer. The DD3 quickly solved my problem. All of the DD3s in my bag had very similar flight characteristics when new, and beat in over time allowing me to filter new ones in and create a lineup of distance drivers that covered all the stable to overstable shots I needed. I love the destroyer, but I love the confidence the DD3s give me even more. Buy this disc.

A little smoother forehand too...but really I am not seeing much difference...more stable forehand than Rickys... so if you torque them they will come back more...good for long annys..wont flip..rhbh....

This is pretty similar to what you expect. A very Destroyer like distance driver. The difference being that the DD3 will push the hyzer finish more forward rather than just dump at the end of it's flight. It feels great in both forehand and backhand grips. Handles the torque from forehand much better than distance drivers with this same ratings as well.

After testing many molds of distance drivers including different runs of Destroyers and Zeus', I eventually made up my mind that the DD3 was the best of those molds. The mold itself is almost identical to the Destroyer with the only tiny difference being that the DD3 has a slightly sharper nose. This makes the DD3 just a tick faster. The first runs came out as bombers. I can throw it out flat and get some considerable turn with a lot of fade at the end. The second runs are more reminiscent of a generically overstable Destroyer, and the Cloud Breakers are right in between the two in terms of stability and stiffness. Between this disc and the Destroyer, there is very little difference. It just matters whether you find a particular run of the mold that you really like. For me, all three of the aforementioned runs have found a spot in my bag and I thoroughly enjoy them all.

Really flies out of the box like the numbers say I have 2 first runs and a stock stamp and they really are straight with slight turn and fade right away. The rim width is bigger than a destroyer so if you're switching from that disc or have small hands keep that in mind.

Disc: S-Line DD3 first release 175g stock stamp

Feel: As a taller 12 speed distance driver with good rim depth, I found the S-Line DD3 very comfortable both backhand power grip and forehand stacked grip. This release the dome was moderate and had a little variation in the light 'heartbeat' sound when pressing down the flight plate.

S-Line plastic for this initial release feels a bit more flexible and grippy than some of the other recent releases. At ~80 degrees F it was very flexible compared to other S-Line drivers I have from Discmania and felt more like driver P-line. I'm curious how it will feel at colder temperatures.

Flight: The flight numbers for the DD3 are stamped 12/5/-1/3 which are close enough that I think the variations in runs/plastics will average out. The initial first runs are softer  in feel which tend towards the less overstable and more straight to fade. With a little more turn at my arm speed (recorded backhand distances between 380 and 400 ft in my practice throwing with 10-20 mph wind conditions from different directions), the DD3 could be thrown with any angle and still produce good glide, seeming to stay up off the ground further than I expected. Some of the headwind throws thrown with slight hyzer were quick to flip and turn, ending up right without enough fade to get back in line. Seemed to ride the wind while slowing down without a big dumping fade. (12/5.5/-1+/2+)

Forehand throws were coming out clean and producing pretty easy distance which I struggle to get consistently. The overstability showed itself a bit more on forehand releases but still only produced a slight fade (12/5/-0.5/2+).

Impressions & Comparisons: Great confidence & comfort throwing the DD3 forehand for distance (320 or so ft) slight hyzer release producing a straight high speed flight with slight fade to finish.

Less overstability & more glide than any Star Destroyer/Sirius Scorpius I have thrown and needed to match release angle to wind conditions more precisely. Would compare more closely to a Millennium Standard plastic Scorpius to me. Looking forward to throwing the DD3s more and using them to compliment the more overstable Scorpius drivers in my bag.
