In my opinion the best approach disc on the market. Great for getting up and down, if you need a different stability just get a different plastic. My jawbreaker is straight to understable and my Z is the most overstable

My Zone is my go-to approach disc when I need something that is predictable and controllable. Whether it's forehand or backhand, you can throw this disc with confidence. Jawbreaker plastic is great for hitting the ground near the basket and staying put, and also feels good in the hand.

Probably my favorite disc of all time. It's the workhorse that gets me out of trouble, but also is the perfect compliment to so many of my drives that need to be followed by an upshot. I have Jawbreaker for the eventual beat in straight zone (it will even get to the place where it drifts right but never turns over), ESP, ESP FLX, and Z. All are great, and I use different plastics for different reasons. Of all the iterations my bag has gone through, this one has been the mainstay. When I've tried to replace this with something else, I've regretted it.

The epitome of control trumping distance. Flat as a board, good for forehand. The overstability and lack of glide tends to iron out errors in release/angle making  it good for beginners. Feels a little funky backhand but is serviceable.

The Zone changed my disc golf game. As a beginner I only threw backhands, and threw them poorly. However, as soon as I got the Zone I started also trying forehands. This is the most comfortable forehand disc out there. It also helped me with shot shaping on my backhand as I learned how to manipulate angles in order to flex around obstacles. I started with a Jawbreaker Zone but now I bag a Z Zone too for more durability and a bigger skip. Moral of the story: get a Zone. Maybe more than one.

The jawbreaker zone is so cool!  Starts off similar to the ESP or Z, but quickly beats it. I can get it to glide and turn, but it will still reliably fade at the end of the flight. It is really helpful for soft landings without to much skip. It has also become a bit concave, giving it almost a thumbtrack vibe. Feels so good in the hand, especially in the cold. It's a great partner for a most premium, overstable zone. LOVE IT!

This zone is everything I was expecting it to be. Nice and straight with some fade at the end. And the plastic is so nice for those shots you're needing to just sit on the green. Great choice if you like the feel of the zone but want something that isn't quite the overstable beast of a premium plastic zone.

The jawbreaker zone is supppper flat. My go-to forehand approach disc. Works much better forehand than my esp zone. Still plenty overstable and doesn't skip much on the green. Nice and shallow as well which feels great in the hand.

I cannot say enough good things about the Jawbreaker Zone. Fantastic disc, feels amazing in the hand, easy to throw, has just the right fade every time whether you throw a soft touch shot or a hard shot off the tee. I have had more aces and 100+ foot throw-ins with this disc than any other and it's not even close. Do yourself a favor a get a Jawbreaker Zone, maybe 2 while you're at it.

I love the ZONE! This is the first disc I have used in my very young career (3 months) that I feel like elevated my game. I use the Zone for my upshots and it goes exactly where I want it to. This thing has gotten me out of a pickle on more than one ocassion. Grab a Zone. I love the Jawbreaker plastic for a little extra grab.

I only carry one Discraft mold at this point, and this is it. I bag a new one and my old beater. I really only throw the old one unless I need an OVERSTABLE approach. The jawbreaker plastic is soft but still durable. I like the grip and I like a shallower disc. Besides my putting and throwing putter (PA-3), this is my favorite disc in my bag.

The zone is one of my most reliable discs in my bag, and seems to be the most popular disc in the overstable putter/approach slot. It has a nice flat profile that feels perfect for forehands, but also doesn't feel uncomfortable for backhands. It is a very overstable disc with little glide, and wont turn over on you or get beat around by a headwind as long as its thrown flat or with hyzer. It will usually fly out of anhyzers, but not all of the time depending on the plastic, wind and angle.

I prefer the zone in Jawbreaker plastic because I like baseline plastics for my approached and like to beat in zones for straighter shots. Jawbreaker is a great feeling plastic, but I was surprised and a little disappointed to find out its pretty slick in wet conditions. The Z zone is also a great disc. It seems to be a little bit more overstable than jawbreaker, but also has more glide, so it seems to carry further.

This disc isn't the most beginner friendly disc, but I still recommend it even for newer players, as it's a good disc for windy approaches, or for forhand approaches.

This review is for the Zone in Jawbreaker plastic.

In other plastics, the Zone is a solid, very overstable and comfortable approach disc. In Jawbreaker, it's near perfection. Jawbreaker has all the grip you could need, and will stick better than almost any other type of plastic out there (considerably more than Zones in ESP or Z, too). At first I was hesitate for Jawbreaker as I thought it would break in too quickly and not last, but I was pleasantly surprised by its lifespan. It definitely doesn't have the longevity of premium plastic, but it will hold it's stability longer than baseline plastics. It's still prone to losing chunks if you square a rock, and it does start to puddletop over time, but all in all it will hold it's stability well, at least become a very straight approach disc, and still have the grab of Jawbreaker. Just don't play a ton of woods rounds with it and it will last a good while.

I love the feel of this Jawbreaker plastic! It's so grippy and it bites the ground pretty well so that you won't get a big skip when you don't want it to. I also love the flat, almost concave top of this disc! It makes it great for forehand upshots! This has to be one of the most overstable putters out there. If you're looking for very little glide and a hard left finish that is reliable, then you need to get a Zone!

There is a negative of course to the jawbreaker plastic though. It beats in very quickly. I have a few good size gashes in mine and it isn't flying as stable/overstable as it once did. With that being said, I just need to adjust a bit and it's still a great disc for me. I use it on just about every round I play, so it is definitely staying in my bag.

Get a Zone! You won't be disappointed!

This review is for the Zone specifically in Jawbreaker plastic. I've thrown Z Zones, and that feels like a completely different disc to be honest.

The Jawbreaker Zone is probably the best disc in my bag. I use it for the majority of my up shots, short tunnel shots, and off the tee under 220ft.

Out of the box, this will fly like a normal premium plastic Zone, but the beaustiful thing about this disc is when it beats in. After a couple months, this will be a super straight flyer with slight fade at the very end of the flight. It's very torque resistant, so you don't have to worry about tirning it over. I even throw this guy in decent headwinds, and it'll fly the same.

The other thing that makes this disc special in this plastic is the grip. Not only does it feel amazing in the hand, but it also won't give you much skip. The Jawbreaker plastic creates a ton of friction with the ground, and I find myself parking a lot of shots if I throw it right. This is a pretty flat disc, and might even develop a puddle top while it breaks in.

I use this disc for about 50%+ of ALL my shots during a round, and it saves me strokes. As Simon Lizzotte mentioned in one of his vlogs with McBeth, the Zone is a cheater disc. Can't deny that. This is a MUST HAVE. 6/5 Stars

I got the Zone in Jawbreaker plastic about a year ago. It has a nice puddle top and was perfectly overstable for placing upshots exactly where I wanted them to stick. As it got more beat in, I started using it as a throwing putter. I can rip on it pretty hard and it goes very straight for a mile. The rim feels great in my hand and comes out with a nice snap. I liked it so much I ended up getting one in ESP plastic a few months later and it's got a slightly domed top. Playing in Reno, all the courses are pretty much just dirt and rocks with some short trees and this disc took a pretty good beating. It's stayed overstable the whole time. I'd recommend this disc to a beginner as one they can keep throughout their entire career.

This is easily my favorite disc for upshots right now.  I have both jawbreaker and Z versions.  The jawbreaker's grip has been great in the wet and cold days this winter.  Initially I thought it felt slightly less overstable than the z line, now I think it just fades with more penetration where the z tends to hook a bit more.  The jawbreaker has definitely worn in a bit more quickly.  Curious to see how much less stable the jawbreaker becomes over time.

This disc is absolutely amazing, and an essential part of my bag!  I carry at least 2 in my bag at all times: 1 Jawbreaker zone for all of my forehand approaches and for really windy putts, and 1 Z-line Zone for my OS Driving Putter.  In the Jawbreaker plastic, this thing is an awesome approach disc.  It glide just enough to get to the target, and it sticks the landing well, with little to no ground action.  The grip and fell of the disc is superb, and the jawbreaker plastic always looks awesome!  In the Z-line plastic the disc gets a little more glide, as wells as skips and ground action, which is perfect when throwing this off the tee on those shorter holes.  If you have an empty OS putter slot in you bag, then do yourself a favor and get in the zone with your very own Zone!

I got this disc looking for a disc that I could use for forehand approach shots and this thing didn't let me down. This disc can handle some power without turning over and has such an amazing feel. Really flat topped and not to deep of a rim makes it have a consistent release every time. It also is a great disc to through in headwinds because you can trust that it will not turn over.

I would highly recommend this disc to anyone looking for a utility disc.

The Jawbreaker Zone is my main throwing putter. I like it in this plastic because it is grippy and beats in nicely. I like how it can be thrown hard and wont flip over and has a good fade. You can also cycle them in this plastic, so you can have fresh overatable one, and a beat up that you can throw on other lines.

This is the best approach disc that I have ever put in my bag.  It is just too good to describe.  It is amazing for forehand approach shots.  I use this and my Buzzzs for almost all my approach shots.  It has a dependably fade, and if you ever want to see someone throw a zone beautifully, watch Paul McBeth.  The zone is just so amazing because it will not get a huge, annoying skip.  Seirlously, after you watch Paul Mcbeth throwing these, you will want one.  I reccomend the zone for anybody.

I got my first Zone in one of Discraft’s misprint boxes and I never threw it initially because I had never really seen a disc like it before. I have only been playing a year so my knowledge of discs was very limited when I received it was limited. Once I started using it I fell in love with how easy it was to throw for me. I am primarily a side arm player and this disc gave me a something reliable for approach shots. I love the feel of the disc and it fits very tin my hand. I recently purchased a few of the McBeast Zones and I have one in my bag now. The initial jawbreaker one feels nice but I love the tackiness of the Z plastic. I bag both plastics in my bag and I feel like the z plastic flies slightly different than the jawbreaker. Overall I would highly recommend this disc!

Wow. Just wow. I got this disc because I was looking for an overstable approach disc that I could throw FH as well as BH. The zone was all that and more; one of the most versatile discs I've thrown. The flat top and shallow rim make for a perfectly clean FH release and it has a very predictable, hard fade towards the end of the flight. When thrown low and flat, with a little more power this disc WILL hold its line and end with a less noticeable curl as it loses speed. Pair those shots with the sticky jawbreaker plastic and you have yourself an up shot machine!

I have tried many plastics for this disc and I have to say this is the best one. The feel in the hand is great and it is sticky enough to stay in the chains. I don't think that the disc is as overstable as the numbers suggest but it is a great approach disc. Instead of spending a lot of money on getting a lot of plastics, just get a jawbreaker and a glow (for winter play) and enjoy. btw, this is always a forehand disc.

The Zone is a super flat, dependable disc that lives in the area between a putter and a mid. I consider it an OS putter, though the fade varies based on plastic. The Pro-D and Jawbreaker plastic are stable but can go straight for a long way. The premium plastics are more stable and have dependable fade. It's my go to distance for forehand approaches. I enjoy driving with it too. Overall, one of my favorite discs.

First and foremost the jawbreaker (JB) zone is one of my favorite discs. I had heard great things about the zone and finally bought a JB and ESP. The ESP is a great plastic but I actually prefer the JB. The zone if a perfect depth with a very flat top perfect for both forehand and backhand. The zone flies nearly perfectly straight with a reliable fade at the end of the flight. I am a terrible circle two or further putter, but with the JB zone I have found a forehand flick has helped me hit the basket more than any other disc. The only problem with this is if I throw it a bit hard and pass the basket, however with the fade it drives very quickly after giving me the chance for a decent shot. The JB zone would most likely be my single disc choice for one disc round. Check out the JB Zone.

When you need to throw a backhand or forehand with consistent and predictable fade, this is your disc. When I throw it with flat release it will go dead straight and fade nicely and predictably at the end.

This is my favorite disc for throwing forehand (which is how I predominantly throw). Anywhere between 100-230 feet I am looking to pull out the zone.

I have a zone in jawbreaker and esp. Both feel amazing in the hand, and the depth of the rim is perfect. The big problem with jawbreaker plastic is that it is not very durable- after hitting 5 or 6 trees there are noticable marks on it, and even a small sliver of the disc came off. But this disc and plastic otherwise is amazing. The disc sits very well and doesnt skip much when thrown well, which is what you want in an approach disc.

The esp plastic is extremely durable, but skips a little more on my approach. If you want consistency and longevity go with esp. If you want the perfect landing and are willing to buy a few jawbreakers as they quickly get beaten, go with jawbreaker.

This might be my favorite disc of all time.  Beadless goodness.  Feels great in hand and works great for both forehand and backhand.  I grab for this disc more than any other, super reliable and confidence inspiring.  My max range with this disc is around 275 ft.  Jawbreaker plastic is less stable than other plastics.  Thrown backhand it goes straight with fade at end.  It has more glide.  It is also great for more touchy upshots for more advanced forehanders who don't wrist roll.  I can release on hyzer and get it to flip to flat.  Great for cycling.  I prefer carrying one of the more stable plastics also, b ut jawbreaker is my favorite.

I purchased a Jawbreaker Zone at 164g. It's very low profile and all the ones I've felt are puddle topped. I prefer low profile discs (although I don't like real shallow rimmed drivers like the Tern). For forehand, the Zone feels perfect.  For backhand, when you combine the puddle top with the low profile the disc feels very shallow.

This disc flies very straight with a predictable fade. I use this disc for shots about 230' and under. This disc works great for straight shots with accuracy. I especially like this disc for forehand shots. The Jawbreaker plastic is nice and grippy and doesn't ding up too bad and also sits on the ground well. I also have an ESP Glow Zone but I haven't used it much but I do believe it's more stable than my Jawbreaker Zone.

Other upshot discs used was a BioFuzion Suspect (longer and less stable - more like a shorter mid), a VIP Harp (I liked the Harp but it wasn't as comfortable due to the deeper dish), and a stiff Pro Pig which flies great but has a very thick rim.  I liked all of three of those discs but the Zone was just the most comfortable for me and the comfort translates into more accurate shots.

The Zone is a great disc. The Jawbreaker is my go-to workhorse overstable approach disc as it's slightly less OS than the higher end plastic. I'd say the 4-3-0-3 rating is fair. So it's overstable but still controllable. Plus rubbery enough to adsorb energy after hitting the ground. I also carry a CryZtal FLX which is very OS (4-3-0-4) for OS shots, skip/ utility shots, and my OS mid slot.

Over the years I have rated the Zone in and out of my bag, in a variety of plastic types. It was about 9 months ago that I settled on the Jawbreaker plastic and have never looked back. For me, my Z Buzzz OS handles all of my FH and BH upshots and drives within 275'. I strictly use beat up (like 5/10 on the Sleepy Scale) Jawbreaker Zones for hyzer flip to flat forehand shots inside 275'. When you have a tunnel shot or need to hit a super tight line, you can flip up one of these things to fly super straight with very little fade. This is my go-to in tight line situations where I'm worried about smacking a tree 10' off the teepad. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This is a thin profile disc that is stable, a rarity in the industry.  If you are looking for that OS putter this one should definitely be on your list to try out.  This is the only Discraft disc I bag, and I didn't feel like learning yet another companies' plastic but I'm glad I did.  I got a firm Jawbreaker plastic and I really enjoy it, good feel.

This will fly straight 2/3 of the way in the flight then start the dump.  It handles the wind like a champ and really helps my shot shaping.

This was the OS putter/approach disc I've been looking for. This is a controllable putter that can not only handle all the power you can give it, but it powers down well too.  I tried so many discs to fill this spot (A1, A2- both too stable, don't power down well) (Harp over-stable but I don't like the deep rim and I wanted a little more stability) (Bard-wanted a bit more stability) (Jokeri- still my favorite approach disc but I wanted something a bit more stable for shot shaping approaches/wind)

This is my 2nd review of this disc, because I feel like it deserves a second review for the jawbreaker plastic. There is a huge difference between how the Jawbreaker, and TI ledgestone plastic hits the ground, and the amount of skip they get. The Jawbreaker has become my preferred Zone for most shots, because the plastic feels fantastic, and because it has more of a stick when it hits the ground. I prefer the jawbreaker plastic for approach and forehand touch shots, because of the grip and feel of the plastic. It handles wind well, and has a great flight. It is exactly what I want for an overstable approach disc, and handles power well. It has a really flat top, and the rim isn't too deep which I prefer. The flat top of this disc helps me really get a feel for the angle of release, and cuts well in the wind.
